| Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi09-10-07, 12:06 AM | Because I haven't seen one of these threads in a while. And I don't think this has been done before. And because it's past midnight, I have class tomorrow, and can't sleep. Damn you caffeine! You helped me get past that one tiring point, then keep me awake for hours! Chocolate is supposed to be good! Ahem. I'll start off. 1) Warforged with illithid heritage feats. "I was built, not born, but I have a genetic ancestor who reproduces asexually." 2) Pun-Pun 3) Kalashtar druid/planar shepherd (Dal Quor). "I work to make sure the Quori are kept harmlessly locked up in Dal Quor, but I revere Dal Quor and even leech bits of it into Eberron." Add your own ideas and enjoy. |
| Tequila_Sunrise09-10-07, 07:03 PM | A druid with a robot dinosaur animal companion (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=907536): "I don't believe in wearing metal myself, out of reverence for nature. But it's okay to dress my pet dinosaur in metal barding, because that's protecting nature!" Huh? |
| AlterFrom09-10-07, 07:21 PM | 5) A Drow who decided to shun his society and go to the surface world to redeem his race. "Wait, I think my character background is being used again...Goddammit." |
| ArgulFraster09-10-07, 10:11 PM | 6) This is one from one of my campaigns-I made a really powerful prestige class for a bunch of pacifistic cavy people based on defending them at the cost of being outcast, and then to play-test it, my DM plays while I DM. Result: A supposedly "pacifisit" who yells "Another enemy of Cavia slain!" whenever he kills someone in an arena battle, and whose primary battlecry is "C**KSUCKERRRR!" |
| happy_fuzzy09-10-07, 10:15 PM | 7) I neutral evil megolamaniac slaughter-happy druid. You just don't don't expect it from the tree-huggers till they backstab you. |

'Nuff said. 11) Mr. Cuddles - Spiker (Planar Handbook) Monk, wearing spiked armor, a specifically spikier morningstar, and a spiked tophat (I don't know what's with Mr. ______ always needing a tophat...) 12) Mr. Sister - The Half-Elf of undecided gender.... with a tophat. All of these have been played, by one person. He is my friend, and he drives me insane. And now I'm done. -Sanguini |

| Bat09-11-07, 08:52 AM | A multi-classed or gestalt Barbarian/Wizard. |
| Cartigan09-11-07, 09:04 AM | 12) Mr. Sister - The Half-Elf of undecided gender.... with a tophat. You mean Human Male Fighter in really bad drag. |
| Karish09-11-07, 01:16 PM | I think we hit 21... 21) A multiclassed Fighter/Rogue/Sorcerer who uses mostly perform skills, uses and instrument, and takes spells mostly in the enchantment school. ...Whaaat? |
| Zousha_Omenohu09-11-07, 02:00 PM | And that never struck you as needlessly complicated? 22. A paladin who turns to piracy. What kind of paladin ravages and pillages and carouses with wenches while kickin' back a couple hundred barrels of grog? |
| TheGreatSanguini09-11-07, 03:22 PM | 23) Duddles - Ogre Swashbuckler; Carries the team. 24) Giggles - Female Bugbear Monk; swings Bubbles while standing on Wuddles. 25) Bubbles - Obese Gnome Barbarian with specially modified spiked plate mail, that has a string coming off the back. Swung by Giggles. 26)Tittles - Pixie Ranger armed with punching daggers, sits on Bubbles' shoulders. 27) Papples - Tittles' Monkey Animal Companion, wearing specially modified Banded Mail and using an Orc Double-Axe. Tied to Tittles, back to back. Together, they form ULTRA MEGA SUPER VOLTRON. PS. This party was designed by the same friend. Who still drives me insane. |
| Einvaldurinn_mikli09-11-07, 03:41 PM | 22. A paladin who turns to piracy. What kind of paladin ravages and pillages and carouses with wenches while kickin' back a couple hundred barrels of grog? A very, very, very awesome one. |
| Khadmus09-11-07, 04:50 PM | 22. A paladin who turns to piracy. What kind of paladin ravages and pillages and carouses with wenches while kickin' back a couple hundred barrels of grog? A very, very, very awesome one. What's wrong with wenches and grog? "Ravage" and "pillage" might be a problem, but you did say "what kind of paladin", so he's not doing evil acts. A druid with a robot dinosaur animal companion (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=907536): "I don't believe in wearing metal myself, out of reverence for nature. But it's okay to dress my pet dinosaur in metal barding, because that's protecting nature!" Huh? I could argue with you for quite some time, but I should do that on the other thread. |
| Einvaldurinn_mikli09-11-07, 05:41 PM | What's wrong with wenches and grog? "Ravage" and "pillage" might be a problem, but you did say "what kind of paladin", so he's not doing evil acts. Nothing wrong with that. It's awesome. |
| Zousha_Omenohu09-11-07, 11:22 PM | Yes, but the very nature of piracy is that of a criminal. Paladins must respect legitimate authority and obey the law, both of which is something pirates don't do. If it were a privateer that would be more acceptable. |
| Cifer09-12-07, 09:34 AM | Paladins must respect legitimate authority and obey the law, both of which is something pirates don't do. Depends on the places where he pirates along. The Midnight setting (picture Middle-Earth - Sauron has won) has Pirate Princes plundering and sinking the vessels of the Dark God and some of them might even be lawful. Of course, that setting has no divine magic in the hands of the good guys, but that's not really important here. |
| Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi09-12-07, 09:36 AM | A multi-classed or gestalt Barbarian/Wizard. Well, if you check crystalkeep, there's a variant wizard that can spontaneously cast certain nature-related spells and is illiterate - with the exception of his/her own spell book. Suddenly, a wizard/barbarian doesn't seem so impossible. |
| Kady_Small09-12-07, 04:14 PM | And the Rage Mage PrC. |
| Khadmus09-12-07, 05:27 PM | Yes, but the very nature of piracy is that of a criminal. Paladins must respect legitimate authority and obey the law, both of which is something pirates don't do. If it were a privateer that would be more acceptable. You referred to him as still a paladin, so he is acting more like the Pirate Princes that Cifer mention |
| Sliver_Slave09-12-07, 10:08 PM | Warforged Druid. |
| Ebonarc09-12-07, 10:49 PM | 29 (I think). Player: "Feast your eyes on my Human Half-gold dragon, half celestial..." DM: KRONG! *puts away folding chair* Player: "Owww!!! What was that for?" DM: "Look at his race again. Did you ever study fractions in school?" 30 (in a gestalt campaign). Same player: "So now that we have his race solved, he's a paladin//warlock..." DM: KRONG! *puts away folding chair* Player: "Now what?!" DM: "Turn to the alignment entries for those and you'll know..." |
| Dragao_das_Serras09-12-07, 11:41 PM | 31. Gnome Paladin of Kurtulmak |
| Prator_the_Legendary09-13-07, 01:28 PM | 32?: Anything that involves being a half-illithid. If you cannot commit fully to the brainsucking life, then you don't get the perks of being able to suck brains. That's just how it is. |
| Ebonarc09-13-07, 01:42 PM | 33. Rogue 4/Wizard 4/Arcane Trickster 4/Fighter 4/Eldritch Knight 4 34. Rogue 4/Wizard 4/Arcane Trickster 4/Cleric 4/Mystic Theurge 4 35. Anything else that contains 2 or more of the following: Mystic Theurge, Arcane Trickster, Eldritch Knight, Eldritch Theurge, and similar prestige classes. |
| CrimsonDeath09-13-07, 04:14 PM | 7) I neutral evil megolamaniac slaughter-happy druid. You just don't don't expect it from the tree-huggers till they backstab you. I'm playing that. Well, more sociopathic than megalomaniac... He's not a tree-hugger though. He likes snakes. |
| Khadmus09-13-07, 05:16 PM | I'm playing that. Well, more sociopathic than megalomaniac... He's not a tree-hugger though. He likes snakes. I think he said that he was one too ("I neutral evil megalomaniac druid") |
| Wall09-13-07, 08:57 PM | 36: Magmin Druid. What with the aura of burning, this little fellow keeps the woodland safe by being as far away from it as possible! |
| Divokej09-13-07, 10:31 PM | Hey, that one actually makes sense though. He just watches out for volcanos, instead of forests. Maybe deserts, I'm not up to snuff on Magmin lore. |
| Wall09-13-07, 10:37 PM | Hey, that one actually makes sense though. He just watches out for volcanos, instead of forests. Maybe deserts, I'm not up to snuff on Magmin lore. Touche. But I like thinking about it in the typical "Forest Guardian" sense. It's funnier... in a rather morbid sorta way. |
| CaptainPicard09-13-07, 11:08 PM | Let me think of some NPCs and PCs that actually existed in my Idiot Campaign... 37. Michael Saering, a Paladin of Slaughter/Sorcerer/Eldritch Knight. The Dark Gunslinger, Despoiler of World, Lord of War, He Who Opens the Gate... Also a huge fan of Magical Girl anime, and will reference it constantly. 38. Badass Sentient Spider, an Awakened Monstrous Spider... Wizard. Created by Quelana, a Drow Matron, one day when she was drunk, Badass Sentient Spider chose his own name and then studied to become a Wizard. Which leads us to... 39. Quelana Dildiira, proud to be the only Matron Mother capable of downing five mugs of solid Dwarven Ale in a single sitting! Also known to take five day weekends and three hour lunch breaks. That's all for now. I could write up like fifty of them, but those are the ones that are the most consistently funny. Plus, writing up fifty specific characters from my own campaign would be kinda... Yeah... |
| Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi09-13-07, 11:16 PM | 40. A spellthief/ashbound druid. Let me get this straight. You hate arcane magic, claiming that it is vile and unnatural. So you stab someone in the back and somehow manage to steal their magic rather than killing them. Then you go around and use the magic yourself. :thinks: :nonono: Actually, it's a character concept I've been working on. The missing detail that lets it hold water is that the character fancies himself as a martyr in doing so. |
| Ghenesh09-14-07, 01:42 AM | 41. The partying monk. 42. A lawful rogue. |
| Salora09-14-07, 11:17 AM | Ghenesh: Ummm ... both of those are perfectly reasonable. Partying Monk = Drunken Master (To be.) Lawful Rogue ... well, since 3.0 rogues have no longer been "Thieves". Rogues are rogues. They can be anything from spies to street thugs, scouts to utility belts (Read: Trap Disarming). Nothing wrong with a lawful rogue. |
| Muzkman09-14-07, 03:01 PM | My character that im currently playing is a Hafling Rogue who is chaotic neutral has flaws of short attention span (arg cant remember the other one right now) but basicly he is a cleptomaniac who has ADHD when he sees a chest or other shinys he has to roll a will save just to not run right to it lol (gelatinous cubes anyone) part of the origonal concept was that he had a whipdagger but due to party problems he had to go more melee The funny thing is he has ended up being party leader |
| metalmayhem8011009-14-07, 03:29 PM | Ok, Check this out. Feral, Raised by Bears, Vow of Poverty, Half Celestial, Sainted, 4 int Paladin/Monk, MINOTAUR!! I remember having a dwarven druid, he had never seen a tree in his life... And who doesn't fancy a bard who sings like the shatner? (Lol I played the album on time when I said I'm singing, the party almost killed me.... Lol) |
