Go to a fairly rich town that gets its water only from a river that runs right through it. At night, have them all go to the river source and get all the water there in the bags of holding, then run away with those bags after successfully drying up the creek/river/whatever. Send an expendable messenger to the ruler and demand that they pay you, or else you will just dump the water out and keep drying up the water source. Then if they pay you, you will become even richer. Lather, rinse, repeat. |

| BloodMagician11-28-05, 02:48 AM | Things that rich PC's of mine have done with their money: 1)Bought enough land so that he could establish a huge barony. This purchase overlapped existing baronies that were greatly in debt. Use his new clout to force the towns to tithe men for his army and young women for his harem. (Evil Fighter/Blackguard) 2) An enterprising Bard built a large casino/brothel/auction house/hotel specifically catering to the needs of adventurers. Eventually made so much money that he retired from adventuring altogether to run it full time. 3)Another bard, less enterprising than the above mentioned, created a philharmonic hall with a 20,000 seat accommodations. Spent almost as much money staffing it with the finest musicians, cooks and entertainers from around the land. 4)A studious Wizard used the money to create a University for Arcane and Extraplanar Studies. The next year, spent a huge amount of his fortune to fund an expedition to Mechanus. I'll post more when they come to me. |

| Lord Gwydion11-28-05, 08:10 AM | Step 1: Excavate a maze of tunnels in a mountain near a small town. Make sure the architect that designs it is deranged so that there is no rhyme or reason to it. Step 2: Hire lower level adventurers to capture (not kill) exotic monsters of various types to populate your maze. Train them not to kill each other, even though by all rights they should do just that. Give each of your pets a bit of your treasure to guard. Make sure one creature is really powerful compared to the other creatures. Step 3: Hire some high level spellcasters to make lots of daggers +1, wands of detect traps, potions of cure light wounds, etc. Also request one adamantium Holy Avenger. Make sure the powerful creature guards the Holy Avenger. Step 4: Make semi-incomplete maps of your maze, and give them to creepy old men to hand out in taverns. You've just bought yourself a classic D&D module! |
