1001 Times You Wish You'd Though Ahead

1. When your Psychic Warrior punched the halfling with that glowing green donut.

2. In an effort to avoid combat, my elf rogue let a Paragon ettin know that the gateway to the place he was imprisoned was open. The ettyin went and told all his friends, who escaped. D'oh.

3. The same rogue shot an arrow into the face of a Kobold Sorceror, but was then disintigrated.

4. While the fighter slaughtered 2 angels, the rogue just prayed for forgiveness and cried his eyes out. SHould have tried to stop him. let me tell you. SHould have tried. Yep.

5. While diplomacy broke down with some orcs,m the rogue fired an arrow, killing the emmisary. He was then killed by a then invisible red dragon.

6. During the same battle, he was wearing his hat of cha +6 instead of his Helm of Teleportation, which would have allowed him to escape.

8. (Sorc, level 2) Using Burning Hands on a couple of lizard-critter-things in a tropical rainforest. A couple, out of ten. All having the stats of a kobold. And next round got shredded by five of them.
Barely survived (got dropped to -9).

9- Should'nt have talked to that cleric of olidamara about me finding their top-secret monestary and after answering "no" to the question "do you worsship olidamara?"
So.. just dont talk about anything you have done to complete strangers.

10) Being invited into the house of the lord, stealing everything of remote value (including the sliver cutlery) and getting trapped in a room with a fireball trap. Then proceding to find out what set the trap off. And got incinerated. Many times. Almost all of us were nearly killed. :weep: On the plus side, we made a lot of money from pickings! :D

11). Boarding the boat that took the party to the island then waiting until we were halfway there to ask when they were coming back to pick us up. Found out it would be ten days and I only brought 5 days of rations with me. :(

12). Moving silently into the dark cave without any kind of light source. Found a rather angry Ettercap inside that didn't mind that it couldn't hear me.

13). "They're just orcs."

14). "Sure. I'll climb the tower and scout around up top by myself."

15 Remebering that the king had said "if She doesn't come back in her NORMAL state, you will all die"

A little BG. The Kings daughter was kidnapped and so we had to go and rescure her. To make a long thing short, we got her but we were being chased by Zombies and she was slowing us down stupid girl in dress and high heels  so i kicked her in the knee, knocking her down and igving us a chance to run away. A few days later in game, we came back and found her wondering around as a zombie,so,we capture her and brought her back to her dad,the king.

17. When you left the rogue alone to guard the treasure.

18. When you let your DM tell people things that only their characters know in secret.

19. When you said, "Yeah, like you would do that to us!" to your DM.

20. When you said, "Don't worry, it's sleeping."

21) When my bard didn't take Improved Initiative.

Trudging through fenlands, trolls pop up out of the swamp, surrounding us. Too many trolls. "Ehhhhh, no problem guys, let me handle this, I can talk us out of--" lost initiative, fighters already charging. :banghead:

How can you NOT outrun zombies? Even in high heels and dress it should be possible!

22) My Wizard casts Leomund's Secure Shelter for the party and points out it's cozy bunks and magically secured and alarmed enrances - no need fo watch shifts!

The Dwarf says: Um... where's the chamber pot?

23) Ignoring the cryptic runes that read, "Do not touch less you awaken the guardians of this place."

Of course, as the CN Cleric I had to touch it, there was no way these runes could possibly speak the truth about this whole guardians thing. When we found ourselves trapped and fighting off 10 skeleton knights is when I realized that the runes might be telling the truth.

24) After being made undead, having a moment of humanist madness and releasing the rest of my ghoulish 'brethren' from their cave prison. Then being torn to pieces by them.

Yes, these all really happened, either in games I was DMing or ones I was playing in.

26. The gnome illusionist says, "Blue dragons live in the desert, not temperate forests! It has to be an illusion!"

27. Same gnome. Having Altered Self to look like the high priest they just assassinated, he's called by the guard captain re: the invaders in the temple. The illusionist puts on a show with his Image powers, apparently summoning an invisible stalker to take care of them. Guard: "Will that work?" Gnome: "...it BETTER."

28. Zombie attack. "Does ANYBODY have a slashing weapon?!?"

29. "We'll lure the dragon away, then you can sneak in and steal back the crown!"

30. "You guys draw their fire, I'll fly down and rip the rudder off the ship! What's the strength check DC for that?" "Uhhhh... you know the rudder is like three feet thick, right?" "Oh! Nevermind."

32. Taking a shower is one thing. Taking it as the only female character, in the nude, with your party presumed asleep and having some Bariaur walk up on you is another.

At least she managed to cast Command and just managed to pass his spell resistance. "Hit yourself" was never as statisfying a command before :D

Well, I finally did that accursed test, and apparently I'm a true neutral Elf Sorcerer with incredibly depressing ability scores- Str 5, Dex 12, Con 7, Int 11/16 (parts 1 and 2), Wis 9, Cha 12.

Where is this test located? i'd love to try it.

34. When your warlock has 10 con and 22 HP when he drops back to let the Rogue leader of the thieves guild walk past.

DARN inv. henchman almost cut me in half (doing 18 damage.) And I could have just stould there and detected magic and not have gotten the 3d6 sneak attack damage. I shattered his sword anyway and left without a weapon I just blasted him to death.

Where to begin, since i played a very chotic battle crazed figher once this list is long...

35) Challenging the head of the guard (L 19 Fighter) to a sparring match at level 2.

36) not bowing to hte hing in front of a LG who takes royal customs seriously... very seriously...

37) Bum-rushing 2 Worg riding goblins at level 1.

38) Bum-Rushing a group of 3 hob-goblins at level 3.

39) Bum-Rushing a goblin blue inside the center of hte group of 3 hob-goblins at level 3...

40) Telling the cleric of herioneus to try and make peace withsaid goblins and not evict them... (Trying ot recover from a DM ruling that I was suddenly neutral evil when I didn't want to play an evil character, I wanted to play Chaotic Neutral leaning good, but I spared character's lives because they were weaker (To give them a chance to get stronger, and because the fight was boring, about equaly)

41) Bum-Rushing the group of 5 orcs. (Got away wiht 1HP)

42) Bum-Rushing the same group of 5 orcs again, charging the orc barbarian (3) at level 5.

43) Cursing the paladin in abyssyal near a half-celestial...

44) (After dealing with the fact my DM was going to force me to play evil regardless) Trying to kill the Half-Celestial to get it's tears and blood...

45) Trying to back-stab the party during a boss fight, demons are imparital to weather you want to help them or not...

And some from friends:

46) Adventuring with an evil character (Group Pladin)

47) Healing an evil character (Group Paladin)

48) Retreating from battle (Group monk with insane honor-code rulings for monks)

49) Asking to have a character killed by a pervert DM with a succubus queen character...

50) Anything else dealign with above character.... (Such as doing improper things, thinking it safe, (A ranger in the group)

I'm just really glad i don't have that DM any more... Now I have a DM who will rule anything as balanced... anything... this presents more problems...

My Gnome Sorcerer Girl has a frightening knack for getting herself and the party into trouble.

51. Ignoring the guard's warning-shot, then realising you haven't got enough hitpoints left to take the damage of the next arrow.

52. Casting Invisibility on yourself to scare the guard of a wooden shed away from the door by making rattlesnake-noises and throwing stuff around, only to find out he was protecting his family sitting inside. Having to cast charm on him afterwards, the man being the NPC you need information from.

53. After getting lost, shouting out loud the names of your companions while you were supposed to silently sneak out of town in disguise. Making a bonfire in the temple's front yard to try and destroy cursed weapons afterwards. Noticing handling the cursed weapons makes you feel like you want to keep'm instead of destroying them.

54. When entering what happens to be the lair of a bunch of sleeping spiders, screaming your lungs out and having your friendly ogre-companion bitten to death by the critters.

55. In dialogue with a green dragon, passing yourself off as one of the bad guys. The same that gave said dragon a cursed item which had been torturing her mentally for weeks.

56. While spotting an interesting-looking caravan on your nightwatch, trying to convince the party's tactless half-orc fighter not to go back to bed, but go and find out about it by saying: "Not unless you knock me out I'll go back to sleep!"

Especially the latter looks extremely stupid to me now.

Almost forgot about this one:

57. Trying on a "Ring of De La Tourette".

She had to be gagged and dragged to a temple to get it off again.

58. A 10th level fighter taking off all of his armor to sleep because he thought it looked cool. *Cough* Might I add a good thing, the group didn't need to make breakfast for him in the morning.
Callista

I don't get that... you can't sleep in heavy armour, you'll just wake up fatigued... my fighters always take off their armour to sleep.
