| Sunic_Flames05-05-07, 05:33 PM | 1: Completely ignores LA rules intentionally. 2: ...And makes a CoDzilla DMPC. 3: ...With a 16... As the lowest stat. 4: The highest stat is 26... 5: On a character with 1 class level... 6: And is treated as level 1... 7: Despite starting with enough experience to be over halfway between 3 and 4. 8: And is large sized. 9: With a character clearly designed for capture. 10: The other PCs start with no gear whatsoever... 11: ...Whereas the DMPC has at least 10,000 gp worth... 12: And is aiming for a prestige class... from the book of erotic fantasy... 13: And currently has nothing but mind control spells prepped... 14: ...And does +9 to hit 3d6+12 19-20/x2 in melee... 15: And an AC of 25. 16: And brags about this before the game to the players, as if bending the rules to make something with an ECL around 10 a level 1 character is such a good thing. 17: ...Repeatedly. 18: All of the above are applicable to the same DM. :OMG! |

| Starchaserva05-06-07, 09:32 PM | you want bad DM's, and hell, bad players, the list that made me create a waiver promising that whomever DM or player I play with is not a freak is over at RPG.net. I think it's into the hundreds of pages, and at least a couple thousand singular instances. Scary stuff. But anyway, on this topic, I've had two screwball DMs. One was exactly as you described, created an Uber dmpc that always outclassed the other players, to the point where the DMPC was the main character and the other PCs had to rely on him in order to get anything done. If "he" meaning the DM, didn't like what we were doing, he would have the DMPC randomly do something to screw it up, like killing an NPC cause we were wasting time and asking too many questions. He was also a major know it all about D&D. If he said something was, or wasn't in the rules, he wouldn't listen to any other player, unless they showed him a letter from the Wizards writers, saying so. The other guy was straight of "Fear of Girls" (I think that's the title) He was that DM, to the hilt...thought he was elite, expected award winning roleplaying, strategy and decision-making from his players, and would loudly berate them if they did something foolish. He found out one of the characters was a writer, and decided to spend half a six hour session talking about his stories and how great and imaginative they were, and how much we'd all love them if we read them. On top of that, he did the whole thing that they DM in Fear of GIrls did, when he got really into a description, started feeling up on himself. It should also be said that both guys hit on any girl that tried to join their game, and the first never has any girls in his because of this statement "When I have female players, I like to include rape in the game, because it always makes for some funny roleplaying moments." |
| Mystic Lemur05-06-07, 11:56 PM | "Fear of Girls"Movie? Where can I find it? It should also be said that both guys hit on any girl that tried to join their game, and the first never has any girls in his because of this statement "When I have female players, I like to include rape in the game, because it always makes for some funny roleplaying moments."O_o . . . Those are the types of guys (not just DM's) that make the rest of us sex-starved nerds look bad... Anyway, back on topic. Me. I suck as a DM because I can't devote the time and energy into running a campaign for more than a few months. I guess I'm too ADD or something. I know I love putting a whole lot of work into a character only to have it fade into a "maybe next week/month/year" that never comes. :weep: |
