5. Stand-up (I'm not kidding, we had a gnome who inspired us with knock-knock jokes and reference's to the dubious nature of enemy parentage)
6. Bongos
7. Flute
8. Trumpet (Great for bards who take part in large battles as practically the entire battlefield will be able to hear you and therefore be effected)
9. Kettle Drum (Again, very large aoe)
10. Cutlery (Again, no lie, think about someone playing the spoons furiously in the middle of combat and tell me it doesn't appeal to you)
11. The kazoo (Yes... the gnome bard was odd... very odd)

I've done this before, play Of Wolf and Man by Metallica, then having the bard turn into a werewolf, scares the pants off of the PCs when they see the little wierd bard turn into a killing machine.

Personally, one of my bard characters is named Lydia so she sings the song Lydia the tattoed lady.

91. Here's something you don't see everyday. A Kai-achum. (That's spelt wrong) It's the traditional instrument of Korea. It has a very pure and sweet sound it is a stringed instrument and can be carried.

Thats crazy! Is your friend from Korea or are they of Korean ancestry?
I love them by the way. I am being taught how to play it but it hurts your fingers after you pluck for to long. :D

Not sure how far after 101 this thread can go, but I'm willing to give it a boost.
102 (or whatever)- Mice. Like that Monty Python sketch. Each mouse is trained to emit a specific-pitched squeak when struck with a mallet.
103- Limerics. "There once was a man from Halruaa..."
104- Koblods. See 102.
105- Gong. May be hard to carry around a dungeon, but it provides 3/4's cover to half the party.

Two magically animated rotating Tenser's floating disks (reduced in size to 12 inches diameter), with a waxy substance disk placed on each one, and a needle running along an etched groove within each, both with wires running to a box that acoustically amplifies (like a guitar body) the signal of one or the other, the control of which is a horizontal slider on the top of said box.

Exemplar, Perform(Singing), Perform(Dance), Profession(Choreographer) and Leadership. A troupe of performers to do a musical in the middle of the battle, boosted by your exemplar abilities.

My, won't it be ironic when your troupe of follower bards do Oliver Twist's "You've got to pick a pocket or two" to boost the Rogue's sleight of hand checks.

Not in the slightest. Definition of irony (http://www.webster.com/dictionary/irony).

106. Drum machine--either a complicated mechanical box that allows you to press buttons that sound actual drums inside and uses gears to "save" the patterns. Or a magical box that stores and recreates "samples."

I know :D

He even had a magic artifact-level puzzle box as his coffin (they themselves released him) and an instant-pipe organ item.

Not gonna number these since there have been a few repeats and it looks like the numbers fell at one point but....

- Euphonium (talk about exotic instruments, everybody go wiki euphonium now!)
- Tuba (imagine carrying a tuba in a bag on your back as you fight bad guys)
- Reed Flute (you know, get a piece of grass and blow!)
- Spoons was a great idea
- Bell Tree/Mark Tree
- Timpani
- did somebody say dulcimer?
- Contrabassoon, actually anything with contra or bass in it (Contrabassflute, Contrabass ((the stringed one)), bass trumpet)
- Mellophone
- Glockenspiel
- Soprano Sax (any sax)
- Bagpipes
- Oboe (but only used for bard abilities on enemies)

oh yea, and hide weapons in your instrument too, like a lute with an axe blade that juts out of the bottom or something
hint - take craft "musical instrument" and craft "weaponry of some sort"

:D :D :D
