| Evered09-18-05, 04:30 PM | 8. Make the Tarrasque a vampire. He will no longer have the need to sleep, and he can't take non-lethal damage because he is undead. Plus he can dominate people and make them walk into his open mouth. |
| Lyinginbedmon09-18-05, 04:45 PM | 8. Make the Tarrasque a vampire. He will no longer have the need to sleep, and he can't take non-lethal damage because he is undead. Plus he can dominate people and make them walk into his open mouth. With the slight problem that you can't have Regeneration if you can't be affected by Nonlethal damage. |
| ShadowDragon868509-18-05, 05:13 PM | 9. Mix gunpowder, saltpeter and nitriate-rich bird droppings. 10. Attempt to solve your problems with an Evil goddess by seduction roll - and rolling +120. :) 11. Opening that damned door. (Really. About 60% of apocaplypsi could be avoided just by not opening the @^@^@^-ing door.) 12. Sleeping with the night hag. |
| TheChilliGod09-18-05, 05:41 PM | Saw this one on another forum. 13) Grab a few iron pellets. Head to the magnetic south pole. Create a vacuum tube about the size of a large person. Shove the iron pellets into the tube. Create a looping teleportation system. (teleport from the bottom of the tube to the top) Get some minion to watch over them for a few months. Due to being at the south pole, the pellets will exceed terminal velocity while trying to get to the south pole a bit more, or something like that. After a few months, dispel the teleportation system and the iron pellets will fly straight through the centre of the earth. Instant Apocalypse! Well, there could be flaws to the system, but don't ask me. I don't do physics. |
| Loren Pechtel09-18-05, 10:46 PM | I forget the name of the spell but there's an epic one that conjures 20 cubic feet of material. Conjure anti-neutronium. You better have time-stop up and teleport away immediately. I forget just how big the bang is but my memory is that it would wipe out everything beyond the microbe level. I worked it out before over on the epic board--look for the thread about how to destroy a planet. |

| ShadowDragon868509-19-05, 08:05 AM | Just...Ick...What kind of cereal would you put that on? DOOM-Os, of course. :) Or whole-soul Hate-Bran. :) |
| Dartanel09-19-05, 08:52 AM | (Serious) - 20. Cast two overlapping gates, one to the plane of positive energy, the other to the plane of negative energy. 21. Be a high level planeshifter (MoP), and abuse Planar area swap to disassemble the planet/bombard it with meteors. |
| Ridureyu09-19-05, 12:33 PM | Just...Ick...What kind of cereal would you put that on? In one of the 101 threads, a DM mentioned one of his players trying to do that, and rolling a 20. Milking Orcus has now become a buzzword for doing something very, very wrong in D&D. It's also a way to end the world, if you think about it. |
| PhaedrusXY09-19-05, 02:33 PM | Milk Orcus. That is just the sickest thing I've ever read on here... I love it! |
| GFC_Seracule09-19-05, 04:05 PM | This wouldn't destroy the world, but it would completely destroy all life. 22. Manifest genesis on the material plane over and over and eventually wipe out all life. Then engineer your own race of super obedient slaces to populate the world and attend to your every whim :evillaugh ! |

| Caros09-30-05, 08:34 PM | Craft Contingency, four times. Cast Sadism. Say Death (Cast's Apocolypse from the sky, radius = caster level), To (My caster level has gone up for every thing that my 20 mile radius apoc from the sky killed. Its probably now 200 miles), All (4000 miles), Mortals (the world?) Over the course of four rounds. |
| Acheron09-30-05, 09:14 PM | Milk Orcus. I'm such a noob. Who's orcus? 28. Ask the the question above :( . ahhh, i'm sooooooo a noob in....whatever orcus is from |
| TheChilliGod09-30-05, 09:35 PM | I'm such a noob. Who's orcus? 28. Ask the the question above :( . ahhh, i'm sooooooo a noob in....whatever orcus is from Orcus is the Demon Prince of the Undead. Almost a god, he is, but not quite. Rages eternal war with two other demon lords in the Abyss. He looks like a balor that spent a few years on the telly, kind of a demon cow if he's lying on the couch (which explains the milking). He has this rod thing that he likes to poke people with to make their heads explode. See Libris Mortis or Book of Vile Darkness for further details. |
| Starlight Knight10-01-05, 01:15 AM | Push the big red button. That is my favorite. I've always felt that if you got a wish spell, and you said, "I wish for you not to grant this wish." it would cause the world to imploed on itself. Get a wish spell and wish for all the kender to die. The gods would be so angry the would destroy the world. Look at the DM with a straight face and say, "Don't give me that. You couldn't destroy the world in a way that fits into the game." |
| -Shade-10-01-05, 05:01 AM | 1). Take one part positive energy plane. Bottle it up in a fragile glass bottle (like alchemist fire container) and wrap it in a strong magical barrier.. 2). Take one part negative energy plane. Package it the same like step 1. 3). Affix the two together in a metal container. 4). Rig impact detonator with magic switch that deactivates the bottle's magic shield barriers. 5). Drop from airship or suicidal dragon's talons. 6). Watch an entire castle or city go up in smoke. 7). Repeat. Or if you're lazy... 1). Open portal to positive energy plane, then one to negative energy plane, make them intersect in the material plane. The ensuing conflaguration of energies will cause widespread panic. Magic researchers are too scared to research the potential megatonnage of such weapons. |
| tarrasquelord10-01-05, 10:56 AM | Don't know what number we're on. 1. Have a single normal (no adjustmants) kobold defeat a 30th level party in even battle. The very laws of creation would unravel at the thought of a kobold winning but against a party of level 30 characters? Judgement Day |
| speeblefreak10-01-05, 02:28 PM | XX: You only need two things to destroy the world: Disintegrate on your spell list and a LOT of patience. XX+1: Develop an epic spell that creates a few hundred gallons of Oil of Impact. XX+2: Cast Proctiv's Move Mountain on the largest mountain in the world and tell it to go up a thousand miles or so. | IceFractal10-02-05, 03:41 AM | I was bored, so I did some calculations, based on an undead 20th level Warlock trying to destroy the world by using Vitrious Blast + Eldritch Doom 24 hours a day. The calculations assumed, for hardness and hp/inch purposes, that the crust was dirt, the mantle was rock, the outer core was iron, and the inner core was superdense metal much like adamantine. This may actually be underestimating the density a bit, but even so, that Warlock, working 24 hours a day would need 53 trillion millenia to destroy the world. Thus, I don't think direct damage is the way to do it, except perhaps with a Hulking Hurler. However, if you gave that Warlock an undead Psion/Metamind and used the Synchronicity trick, those 53 trillion millenia could be finished in just 6 seconds. 6 very, very tedious seconds, which is why I doubt even the undead would try it. |
| Valgaav10-02-05, 11:22 AM | XX+4: Let Kender into Eberron. My DM actually did this and while I didn't destroy the world, I was only level 3 at the time. Kender and artificiers have a very odd synergy. |

Step 6: Wait for the morning after and exhibit silent images to the entire world. |
| Landman10-19-05, 02:55 PM | They will not exceed terminal velocity because G is constant. There is no "terminal velocity" in a vacuum. As for the OP's idea... the gravitational acceleration on the iron will be far greater at any point on the earths surface than the acceleration due to the earth's magnetic field would ever be. So technically, the use of magnetism doesn't really do anything for you that gravity wouldn't already have done. On the other hand, whatever body of energy had to supply the energy to teleport the iron upwards through the magnetic/gravitational field would probably get drained, if you want to imagine teleportation spells as having to draw their energy from somewhere... |
| Lyinginbedmon10-19-05, 03:07 PM | To put an immediate crimp on that idea though, the iron would disintegrate as soon as it hit anything near terminal velocity because of the friction caused from it moving through the air that fast. So if anything, you'd have a rather odd bomb |
| Need_A_Life10-20-05, 07:38 AM | Mind giving a page number on this 'terminal velocity' and 'friction'? :P This is D&D, not the real world; this is a thread where there is a post saying "Milk Orcus" not a science thread... besides, D&D is broken... not that I mind. --- Y: (Assumes that you are pun-pun) Cast create water and wait a minute or so, then drink it (hey, there's nothing in the rules stopping you). | Lord Dastir10-20-05, 08:36 PM | To put an immediate crimp on that idea though, the iron would disintegrate as soon as it hit anything near terminal velocity because of the friction caused from it moving through the air that fast. So if anything, you'd have a rather odd bomb I cant believe I am doing this, because, as another poster mentioned, there is no room for physics in a world where magic exists, but... The person who posted this idea specified a vacuum tube... There is no air in a vacuum, so there is (obviously) no air friction. No terminal velocity either. The only limit to an object's speed in a vacuum is c (speed of light). Yeah, relativistic iron particles would certainly do a job on the earth!!! | Xeio10-20-05, 11:38 PM | *does some math* 6 months (approx) * 30days/1month * 24hours/1day * 60minutes/1hour * 60seconds/1minute = 15,552,000 seconds of acceleration 15,552,000 * 9.8m/s^2(acceleration due to gravity on earth) = 152,409,600 m/s KineticEnergy = .5 * 1kg(slightly fudged guess, since i forgot mass is in kg, not g :P ) * 152,409,600^2 = 11,614,343,086,080,000 Joules Largest practical atomic bomb (supposedly) 10 megatons * 4,184,000,000,000,000 joules/1megaton = 41,840,000,000,000,000 Joules So, assuming you had 4 pellets, its approximately equal to a 10 megaton nuclear explosion when it collides (assuming no explosion from friction once it hits the air). Better to let it go a few years ^_^ thats no world ender.... lets have some fun with it so... if we would drop a ball with a mass of 10kg for 100 years.... .5(10)((100*365.25(days/year)*24*60*60*9.8)^2) = 4,786,154,642,342,707,200,000 J = 114391 Atomic Bombs Now thats a world ender :) As a side note, i didn't bother with 'theoretical speed limits' and such like the speed of light. (plus, this system would actually create infinite energy, given time, so the whole thing is moot as far as real life physics are concerned) EDIT: Noticed some errors in calculations (like 25hours in a day, lol) |
| steenan10-21-05, 02:04 AM | There is a little problem with the physics here, Xeio... ;) The farther you go from earth, the weaker it's gravity is (it changes as 1/r^2). You cannot get any energy you want by letting something fall from enough height - earth's gravity won't accelerate it to more than approximately 11km/s, if it is stationary at the beginning. I can put here a mathematical proof of this if you really want... |
| spectralphoenix10-21-05, 02:27 AM | That's true in a magic-less universe. However, the teleport spell lets the object fall over an very large distance by using the same few meters over and over again. In RL, of course, this drastically violates conservation of energy because the object would gain potential energy when teleported upwards. However we are assuming that: a)conservation of energy does not apply, or b)whatever powers teleport spells has an indefinitely large, but finite, supply of energy If a is true, then we can cast physics to the wind and the device will work. If b is true, then the maximum energy achievable will be (energy powering teleport+starting potential energy). Sooner or later, the magic would run out, the teleport would stop functioning, and the device would go off with whatever energy it had. Has anyone ever read "The Magic Goes Away" by Larry Niven? It has a similar concept. |
| Bane10-21-05, 01:43 PM | IRL, teleport violates physics and common sense in multiple ways anyway. When you teleport, you somehow manage to change your momentum to some figure that happens to be perfectly aligned with what it would take to not kill you. When I say perfectly aligned, I mean it, as even a 0.1% difference in speed or direction would result in the sudden death of who or whatever happens to be teleporting. Wrong angle, and you will either be flung off the planet, or buried in a very deep, very messy hole. Wrong speed, and you will either be flung off the planet, or some feature on the planet (like a tree) will smack you at a relative speed exceeding 100 km/hr. If you're lucky. Otherwise, we could consider winds that ravage your body before your vector equals everything around you, sudden painful death from coexisting with other matter, namely air. If that doesn't sound so bad, consider that when even a little air gets in your bloodstream, you can expect an aneurism. This is an incredible amount of air in your bloodstream. You will die quickly and painfully. If we ignore the fundamental forces, and the effects of suddenly having that many extra atoms in the same space. The nuclear forces would shred your body faster than the Lady of Pain's shadow. Of course, we could just use teleportation to destroy the world then. |

Yes, it does take an extensive amount of air in the veins to kill a human. Does 50% air, 50% blood count? That's essentially what teleportation would give you, assuming none of the other side effects I mentioned killed you first. May I ask which calculations you feel were unnecessary? If you feel something is impossible, fine, but you can't know for sure until someone does the math. I have a book that was published just 30 years ago that states that a computer could never play chess, because of the sheer number of possible combinations. Now computers not only play chess, they beat the best humans two out of three times. At one time it was considered impossible for an aircraft to go faster than the speed of sound. That idea held on so long that we still use the term "sound barrier," despite the fact that we first exceeded Mach 1 in 1947. There is always something impossible, and it never stays that way. "Techno babbles," as you put it, may not interest you, but information transfer is a valid use for the Internet, even when it is well thought out, punctuated, capitalized, and grammatically correct. I would wager that there are at least a few people who would prefer to see more posts like that than posts that come from the 12 year old AOL Instant Messenger crowd. In short, I disagree with both your opinions and your methods for making them known, as I'm sure you do with mine. Let's agree to disagree, as you will likely never sway me, and I have better things to do than attempt to sway you. |

And if you started disintegrating/eldritch blasting your way to the core of the earth, you wouldn't have to get the whole way since the asthenosphere would just pour out (kind of). |
| Lionhearted11-16-05, 05:05 AM | Yes, it does take an extensive amount of air in the veins to kill a human. Let's agree to disagree, as you will likely never sway me, and I have better things to do than attempt to sway you. my point is why waste your time on besting posters on the board when you can use your (obviously) infinitve wisdom to save the world or something... my point isnt that its impossible its that you dont have to be a genius to play D&D thats the good part! wanna blow the world? sure go ahead! how? who cares its just a game ffs |

| Jonrea11-17-05, 06:52 PM | Hey, I'm not accusing or anything, I happen to be a fan of Lackey too. Were you planning on playing in her world or just using the Mage Storms? 53: Epic level Kender. |
| Xaktsaroth11-17-05, 07:38 PM | Create a Kender Spellthief/Rogue with a level of MindBender. Steal. Everything. Even secrets. :evillaugh |
| Thomar_of_Uointer11-17-05, 09:51 PM | Ahh... Whenever I start creating a setting, the third page in my notes is always the best way the BBEG can completely destroy it. 55: Tarrasque and Mirror of Opposition. |
| shadowsofwhite11-18-05, 04:36 AM | apparently several people have gone on a series of tangents and stopped posting ways to destroy the world (preferring to discuss the physics of it instead) how disappointing. :nonono: this is easy for even low level characters whatever number this is... wish for an infinite amount of clubs. which would bludgeon the world to death for all eternity. :evillaugh |
| Thomar_of_Uointer11-18-05, 08:26 AM | wish for an infinite amount of clubs. which would bludgeon the world to death for all eternity. :evillaugh What's really neat is that that actually works. :D |

| DemonsOfRazgriz11-21-05, 10:04 PM | 1.Use revenge of the sun(I think thats the name of the weapon) *For those who don't know what it does you have a 1% chance of creating instantlly a sun on location. 2.Releasing Chaos 3. Kill the supreme gods of good, evil, and netrual. and watch the other gods fight for control of each alignment. 4. A kender making god status and just doing anything as its first testament as a god. |
| Rashomon11-21-05, 11:30 PM | Turn yourself into a ball of iron massing 120 solar masses with the Metamorphosis power. A mass of such size will immediately implode into a hypernova and collapse into a quantum singularity. Not only do you destroy the world, but you annihilate the solar system and tear it to its component quarks at the same time. If the DM freaks out at that, just point out that under the improvised weapons rules, a ball of iron massing 120 solar masses will easily do quintillions of hp damage. |
