So Im new to this site, I dont quite know what is an annoying or taboo topic for this forum, but i can see "help me make a munchie character" being one of them. And if it is im sorry, we can just forget this topic ever existed but if not....
I have a friend, one that introduced me to D&D a couple years ago and he is moving soon, we went through some very long campaigns together, and he helped me take my first character from 9th level to 18th (doesnt sound like much but, uhhg that campaign was ridiculous) anyway, he is wanting to just have one last night of gaming and whats more is its going to be 25th level. He is very big into "munching" or whatever you want to call, and im not, in fact im so not that i have never worried much about learning how to "munch out" so i was wondering if anyone could help me out. There are no restrictions to my character as long as its ECL is 25. Id much appreciate some feedback. Im not picky about what I play either, any class, arcane, divine, melee, id rather not do anything sneaky sneaky but i guess thats ok too. Thanks a lot. Oh also its basically going to be a big dungeon crawler, practically just going to have NPCS and beasties thrown at us, almost no dialogue.

Well, if you want simple yet powerful, a straight Cleric should be fine.

Yeah, but I want to do something crazy, something ridiculous and unfair, because for once we are being allowed to do that (we being my little gaming crew) and plus its 25th level.

25th Level Monk with Vow of Poverty is an option.
25th Level Druid is almost Impossible to kill.
10th Level Ultimate Magus, 7th level Wizard 6th level Sorcerer will grant you soooooo many spells your head will spin.
5th Level Spell Warp Sniper, 10 level blood Magus, 10 level sorcerer should be fun.

Heck if you want to be the terror of your game be a half orc barbarian with full Frenzied Bezerker PRC.

Well, you could go the whole Divine Metamagic (Persist) route.

Or you could just go with Monk1/Druid24 and basically win DnD. (Toss in VoP for added fun)

Abjurer/MasterSpecialist/Iof7FV* is pretty kick ass.
(*Initiate of the Seven Fold Veil).

"Breaking" DnD isn't just about which class you pick or which spells you choose to learn/prepare. It's about how you apply them.

Druid 10/Planar Shepherd 10/Warshaper 5

It will make the game cry. No, not the DM - the actual rulebooks will start weeping. With the right feat choices, they weep blood.

just be an epic Dread necromancer with an army of undead, and kill everything and buy a lot of stones(forgot their name) to put in the eyes of corpses to bring them back to life.

Don't forget to take the spell Venomfire (http://spelldb.com/showSpell.php?id=1754). Maximize venomfire for an extra 150 acid damage to *each* of your poisonous wild shape attacks, and that's without even trying to optimize the metamagic for greater benefit.

A planar shepherd with venomfire doesn't need optimization. But if they did I'd suggest Vow of Poverty as a good starting point, since all that stuff (by the rules) works on your animal forms and avoids the need to figure out equipment.

Cleric 25 with plenty of goodies from Complete Divine should fit the bill.

Also, you may want to check out the Character Optimization boards.

I did Mystic Theurge for a game like that. It's horribly underpowered at first; but at level 25, you are basically a level 20 wizard/level 20 cleric. Magic is powerful and versatile, and there are some seriously broken cleric feats out there.

What about that beholder mage/Ur Priest/Psion thing from the TO boards? Level 9 arcane spells, level 9 divine spells, level 7 psionics at level 20 IIRC. (And can cast one arcane spell of every level each round in addition to manifesting a power/divine spell)

I'd still go for the VoP Druid/Planar Shepherd idea myself. Maybe with the Saint Template.

I once played a cleric of farlghan or something like that. What I used to do is cast Time stop (celerity domain) and then cast I think Divine power (the one that gives you the BAB of a fighter and temporary HP) and miracle to cast giant size (wu jen 7), and then if I had time a few other spells like improved blink, greater visage of the deity. With that little combo I won DnD a few times, also remember you can heal yourself a good, specially with mass heal, it's freaking crazy! I used to grow to colosal size, have more than +50 to hit (more than the fighter) and my strength skyrocketed, also, I had over 600 hp.
Or if the DM's crazy enough, try to use Gestalts. And with that, you just won the game.

So, what is the most broken Gestalt level 25?
Tedronai

08-19-07, 04:13 PM
Gestalt is a variant from Unearthed Arcana where you get the best qualities, and all the abilities, from 2 classes simultaneously
Monks with Weapon Supremacy, Druids with Mighty Rage, Mystic Theurge for free (and with more HP), Rogues with enough feats to be ranged AND melee without being useless, all that craziness.

I'd suggest the aforemention Druid lvl 25 build, but adding in 25 levels of Barbarian (with levels of Frenzied Berzerker if you have enough feats and can squeeze it in, since you can only take 1 prestige class at any given level),

So, what is the most broken Gestalt level 25?

Monk1/Druid24//Rogue25

Seriously.

Wild Shape (I still hold that this the most power class ability in all of 3.5). Wisdom to damage in animal forms. A good spell list.

UMD (best skill in the game. Almost a class ability of the bard and rogue on its own) to use just about anything good in the game (basically grants you arcane casting). Sneak attack. (Improved) Evasion. (Improved) Uncanny Dodge.

Also, if you don't want to use UMD, take Vow of Poverty.

So where do i find planar shepard? what book? an extra 150 points of damage is exactly what i will need. oh or maybe the Druid monk. anyway, druid seems nice and powerful and i really want to play one because i have only played one once before and it was low level and for a prefab campaign (sons of grumssh) so having a powerful one should be a good change..oh and my friend is moving yet and we had to move the day back a couple days from when we were gaming so i still have some time.

old tricks are the best tricks.

dwarf, fighter(or any other martial class)10/ dwarven defender 15

spend all your epic feats on adding to your DR, and grab the epic ring of ER 30 everything, your AC doesn't matter when you have DR in the teens or low twenties and 500+ HP...oh, also you'll need to take elusive target so you're immune to power attack(you'll have the prereqs thanks to the Prc's prereqs)

Sounds like your DM is going to throw you up against a Prismatic Dragon or something insane if he's letting you all go crazy powergaming.

But on topic I'd say just go plain and simple Cleric25 or VoP Monk1/Druid24. You should do pretty well then.
Enjoy your Uvuudaum riding a pseudo-natural prismatic dragon. :P

So im thinking of going Fighter/Sorcerer/abjurant champion/eldritch knight. We use 3.0 haste rules so hoo-rah for being able to cast 3 spells in one round (counting abjuration). Oh and Probably going to take some draconic heritage feats outta complete arcane, like draconic flight, ive made this character at a lower level before. It was awesome. I cant imagine it at 25th level, If i dont do this Im going to probably do the monk/druid combo, that sounds ridiculous.
DrStalker

If you go monk/druid be sure to take the feat that lets you WildShape into a dragon. Then you can do all your monk attacks AND all your dragon natural attacks as secondary attacks.

Just for the taste of it:
Troll -5LA
Half Black Dragon -4LA
Half Red Dragon -4LA
Barbarian -16LvLs
Monk -1LvL

From Troll

Large size. -1 penalty to Armor Class, -1 penalty on attack rolls, -4 penalty on Hide checks, +4 bonus on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits double those of Medium characters.
Space/Reach: 10 feet/10 feet.
A troll’s base land speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision out to 60 feet and low-light vision.
Racial Hit Dice: A troll begins with six levels of giant, which provide 6d8 Hit Dice, a base attack bonus of +4, and base saving throw bonuses of Fort +5, Ref +2, and Will +2.
Racial Skills: A troll’s giant levels give it skill points equal to 9 × (2 + Int modifier, minimum 1). Its class skills are Listen and Spot.
Racial Feats: A troll’s giant levels give it three feats.
+5 natural armor bonus.
Natural Weapons: Claw (1d6) and bite (1d6).

From Half Dragons:
Increase from the base creature as follows: Str +8, Con +2, Int +2, Cha +2. Each

A half-dragon has all the special qualities of the base creature, plus darkvision out to 60 feet and low-light vision. A half-dragon has immunity to sleep and paralysis effects, and an additional immunity based on its dragon variety.

So total:
+28 STR, +4 DEX, +16 CON, +0 INT, -2 WIS, +0 CHA

Make sure you grab VOP feat too lol.

Sure you'll be level 17 wile everyone else is 25 but think about it. You'll be able to go toe to toe with a tarraque and have fun wile your at it.

If you want to take templates look at Saint (the most overpowered template ever!) feral (pretty damned overpowered) and mineral warrior.
