Okay, we have the first session comming up soon, 3rd edition campaign. Team of four, and at first I planned on making a Monk. The other three players? Wizard, Sorcerer, and Druid.

O_o.

Should I like, put the Monk on the back burner and make a tank?

Depends on your DM. If your DM customizes encounters to match the party then no, make your monk. If not make a tank.

Make a Cleric! :) And if they look at you funny, say "well, it's your fault" and if they ask why..say "umm..cuz" and then you win! And by you winning, I WIN! :)

I would recommend a tank to round out the group. The druid should be able to hold its own in a few levels (wild shape, etc.), but until then you'll need some tanking power to help defend the casters. Monks are too weak at the lowest levels to fulfill those needs, I think.

Make the monk. Then you guys should arrange to get in lots of bar fights :)

Seriously, though, I'd go with a combat-oriented cleric. Almost as much BAM as a fighter and it frees your druid from healing duties so he can concentrate on combat spells.

Or make an Aristocrat and hire a fighter :)

Make a Cleric or a Bard! :) Hurry before it's too late! Keep an all casting party and tell us how it turns out! :)

Make your Monk if you wish. Just make sure that the monk has good Spot and Listen and request that the druid do the same.

If this group has prior warning of an attack (or attacks first) the enemy should go down in a hail of magic missiles and produced flame. All your monk has to do is play bodyguard and block any stragglers that manage to close on the group. Dont be afraid to use Total Defense while drawing attacks to the monk while the spellcasters and the animal companion do damage.

If this bunch is taken by surprise . . . . . . ouch. Hopefully the wizard will take the Alarm spell.

Play a monk and tell your companions that you need them to cast mage armor and magic fang on you at the start of each fight.
