| Tinari08-23-07, 06:24 PM | I am a true role player through and thru. Thru and through? Irregardless of that detail of minutia, I felt I should mention that each edition of D&D has helped bring the game to a more streamlined interface which would therein allow me to get more to the meat and potaters of ye olde game of yore that I know and love! But, I don't think from what I've seen and heard of the future of D&D is enough. Here is what I propose the steps we should be taking to the future of our favourite (Gotta have the obligatory U!) social interactive game. First, there should be the more streamlined fourth edition which allows less time for talking and socializing whilst the rules are being withdrawn from our wonderful tomes. Secondly we should expedite the release of the Fifth edition D&D, where all races and classes have set attributes and simply mesh together. Dwarves have +1 str, Fighters have +1 str, dwarven fighters have +2 str. No time wasted on rolling, we know what they're function is, hitting stuff with axes! And beyond this, we need to get things more ingrained within the technology of our times. Begone, silly books! I demand all information be put upon the internet to be downloaded into our brains, or barring that, personal palm computers or at the minimum distributed on Blu-ray DVD format. This will bring us gamers close and close to one another to reaching a role players utopia. Less time to read books through for all the information, just search what you want and get answers on demand! Some time we should be reaching about 10th edition D&D and I will be an age'd Role Play veteran of the times, but I won't look back, I will look only forward. By this time I fully intend to be able to interact with all my brethren by doing little more than kicking back in my Lazee-virtua-boy chair with goggles strapped to my face and a beer can in my hand. I will just think and maybe talk to fully engross myself with my friends and the role playing which I am so familiar with back in my youth! Long live digitalization and vegitabelation! (I invented a word?) |

| High Octane08-24-07, 01:10 PM | I can't tell if this post is sarcastic or not. |
| Alyri08-24-07, 01:26 PM | Does it really matter? |
| RobbyPants08-24-07, 01:46 PM | Irregardless of that detail of minutia, Fixed :P Secondly we should expedite the release of the Fifth edition D&D) Don't worry. It's already in the works, they just won't officially admit it. I think the policy is once a new edition is announced (but not released), they begin designing the next one. This is why it takes soooo long for them to actually work in suggested fixes. By the time they've colleted enough user data on 3.x, they're already printing the 4E books! ;) |

R&D doesn't even do anything beside take long vacations and play WoW. |
| temparus200008-24-07, 10:27 PM | Too many people think D&D is a nerd game. It isn't? I'm a nerd. All of my players are nerds. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of players are nerds. Perhaps you're not. Perhaps you're a master of various martial arts, get hot dates left and right, and know little of the inner workings of computers. But I don't think that is indicitive of a typical D&D gamer. |

You see, that is the problem for us non-nerds. We want more players who aren't nerds either (not that there's anything wrong with that). In order for that to happen, WoTC needs to advertise better and improve the game's image. Alternately, you could just try to start dating for us. They don't bite. :D |

They don't bite. :D Actually, I think you should do your own dating. ;) I consider myself somewhat nerdy, but I'm not shut up in my house 24/7 in a basement on a computer. I go the gym, hang out with friends, etc. |

Actually i went out for KFC this evening and five nutters were standing in a circle facing inward-dressed as A cowboy, A chef,...it was a bad villagepeople thing...loitering on a street corner...so I think Gameing is more like looking for that new member of the band after Yoko breaks you up... And i bet you do know interesting people...A few of my closest and dearest were members of that Social Club you mention... |
| zzo3808-25-07, 08:44 PM | What does "vegitabelation" mean? (If you invented it, it isn't in the dictionary. You have to tell me what it means.) And if each edition would be more streamlined and stuff, would you want ∞ edition as well? Maybe ∞ edition is infinitely streamlined and stuff like that. But I wouldn't know what I like better, as I haven't seen other ones very much. |
