Hello,

I just reached access to 7th level spells for my barbarian/sorcerer/e. knight character and I am having trouble decided which 7th level spell to take. I am thinking of Spell Turning, but does anyone have any other ideas? I have access to the PHB and Magic of Faerun.

You might consider Mass Hold Person to freeze up several enemies so you can go around quickly dispatching them with coup de grace attacks.

It realy depends on your other spells.

However, Limited Wish comes to mind first off for any sorcerer casting 7th lvl spells. Its extremely versatile, and thats the key to choosing sorcerer spells...find versatile ones. The 300xp cost tends to scare some people off though.

Elemental Body from the Spell Compendium would be another great choice.

Greater Teleport is also good. Go wherever you want whenever you want...no mishap chances.

Ethereal Jaunt has its uses too.

I've thought about Greater Teleport, but we have a spellcaster with that already. In battle a Dimension Door would be better, most fights don't need the range to a greater teleport.

What does Elemental Body do?

Elemental Body is a 7th lvl Transmutation that lasts for an hour per level. It gives you many of the immunities of an elemental, such as immunity to crits/sneak attacks, stunning, paralysis, etc..

You choose a specific elemental form when you cast the spell and you get additional benefits for each particular form (e.g. fire immunity if you choose fire elemental form, or flight in air elemental form).

It also provides protection against planar effects when on the plane corresponding to your chosen form.

The material components could be hard to come by though, depending on how tough your DM is with such things. You need a bit of the element in question from a plane other than the one your casting the spell on.

Due to the duration and the strong protective benefits, it is one of the best 7th lvl sorc/wiz spells around.

A melee sorcerer gish could greatly benefit from it just for the protection from crits/sneak attacks.

gish? >.>
The term for a combat/spell-casting mix such as a "fighter/sorcerer" "barbarian/druid" etc. The eldricht knight is a gish prestige class.

That sounds pretty good. Does it give you the DR as well?

Nope, no DR.

Its in the Spell Compendium, and I think there was another version in some other WOTC book, but I dont' know which one. Maybe something from Forgotten Realms.

Eldritch Knight? Why not ragemage?

Rage Mage loses too many caster levels. Almost worthless to take.
