| mungojerrie04-15-05, 08:36 PM | This a post for stupid things your DM (old or current.) has done not house rules or dumb plot hook but just a stupid idea that just popped into her/his head Heres mine: **************************************** ****************** Our group was just starting this new campaign and the DM says to get into character close our eyes and imagine where they are. Turns out he had the characters kidnapped by this deranged sea captain, and to set the mood he stuck pillowcases over our heads and tied us up with dog leashes.Around me comes the shrieks as people have pillowcases shoved over there heads and the DMs wife says "You're not putting that thing on my head." **************************************** ****************** Ever wondered what was going on inside your DMs head.I sure did       |

Just curious, did he tell you to get into a barrel with a 'hole' in the side too? |
| speeblefreak04-15-05, 11:44 PM | Party Level: 3rd to 4th. DM: You see 50 Aspects of Lloth 30 ft. in font of you, and they don't look happy. Party: :OMG! :ghosted: Me (forgetting my character is a sun elf): I, uhh, attempt a diplomacy check to chang their attitudes for the better. (rolls) Yee-haw! 30! DM: One of the aspects extends its whip 30 feet to tickle you under the chin, and they vanish. Party:   |
| Game_Addy04-16-05, 12:28 AM | Level 3 Human Ranger:(me) THis is what my lil bro did to me(he loves me o so much;)) I was doing a random dungeon thing for some experience, and out comes a dire bat, no problem. I whack at it, and get a for an attack roll...and MISS! um ok, maybe its a souped up one. I keep whacking at it. Finally, when I'm at like 2 health, i ask him what it is, and he says "dire bat" and so i ask to see the stat scores and it had something like 117 health, about 20AC Needless to say i was like "you idiot"...not really lol, but ya. Party:   This sounds like something one of my DMs pulled once, although we were...um, I think 5th or 6th level, and there was literally hundreds of driders 60 ft away. Yeah, we ran. I'll let TPK post his own stupid DM ideas he's come up with, though. :) |
| kenlas04-16-05, 04:13 AM | This one was totally me. I decided to put in two NPCs that were like the couple from the movie "Lady Hawk". I had my Navare be level 6 for two attacks and well Isabo(sp) was a cleric that by my rules could use her spells. They were going to fight a band of orcs and at the end a half orc leader would come out. There were about 3 level ones, one combat level 6 and one healer only level 6 against about 30 orcs and the leader. Long story short. When the dwarf went down (they were pretty well armored) he was healed but refused to get up as they would just attack him again...so what does one PC do? Run away with his wolf animal companion. The other PC stays and makes a fighting retreat. As for the level sixes, they stayed till the end with the one that was making the fighting retreat...My "NPC"s did all the work. I should've known better than do that knowing my fellow players. By the way, this was scrapped after this adventure. |
| Shocker25004-16-05, 06:51 AM | One of the worst ideas been around.... me : What level can we make these characters? response- Lets have the DM Roll a D20 to find out. Dm- O.k. ..he rolled a 18 Another bad idea, Lvl 7 ..... we come up against, as my Aracane Knowledge check told me... face to face with a Mature Adult Red Dragon. And he was sitting right over the door. So, no real way of getting around him. Me, and two other P.C.s just stand there really, just kinda looking at it, and then it firebreaths me. Just me.... disintigrating my sorcerer. Appearently it was an illusion and by walking through its mouth, u defeated the illusion... end story short, sorcerer killed by illusion. Even with max ranks in Knowledge Arcane. |

Even with max ranks in Knowledge Arcane. Did you get a Will save? BTW mungojerrie, I loved that pillow thing - I think my wife would probably say they same thing. Along those lines probably the weirdest thing I've ever done is place a big box over the table and then have each player toss a dice in to see where their character landed on the board after following some guy through a portal. Pretty tame by these standards, but it's the best I've got. |
