Did the party Sorcerer get ****** at the fighter? Did the Barbarian get a little....ragey after he found out his woman was cheating on him with the party bard? Did the rogue "accidentally" let that dagger slip....24 times?

This topic is dedicated to a clash between PCs that was bound to happen or waiting to, characters who didnt mix, or became so

---------

My most memeoral time was when I was a Samurai. Though I just had to be lawful, I was lawful good for the most part, basically a non-magical paladin. Now, the stupid Dwarf was a rogue, a greedy little man who really liked wealth. The argument started when a sorcerer surrendered. We asked questions and his story was a tale of despuration and tragedy on his part. !I! wanted to apologise and leave, with a threat of never causeing such hardship for the people of the land again(we had already killed most of his gang, so I saw him as little threat), the rogue...wanted to kill him and take his shiny stuff( I think he had some good stuff too). An argument broke out and we both had our swords drawn(or rather , I had my Katana draw, and he his dagger). I was actually wanting him to attack in a way, I knew I could take him mono-e-mono(im a Samurai, not a saint) but it didnt happen, we decided to take his stuff and leave with the warning(I left last to make sure no killing of the prisoner happened)

Yes, my tale wasnt as bloody as some Im sure there are, but it was intense sense it was only like, my third time playing.

I've never had a hate-rivalry with my characters and the rest of the party.

Worst case scenarios have been similiar to the Legolas-Gimli rivalry by the beginning of Return of the King. They'll make fun of one another, and try to have a higher kill total than the other guy, but they're willing to put their own safety at risk if the other is in danger.

One of my favorite PC-to-PC encounter was when my character found a resurrection scroll to potentially resurrect another character whom had died earlier. However, this was sacrilige for another character(a Paladin if I recall correctly), and frankly, the tension was very remarkable at that point. My character was shouting how much power the scroll would possessed and was meant to be used, while the other also brought in his points. As the argument heated, the paladin drew his sword while my character grabbed his crossbow...

So now you had two characters aiming their respective weapons at the other's chest... and then...

Well, that's another story.

This was a relatively low-level dungeon crawl...

The players encountered an ancient Temple, that had been set with a Beholder Guardian. The Beholder was essentially under a "contract" to protect the temple, and was not combative. This was meant to be one of those things where the party can come BACK to the temple in 5 levels or so, defeat the Beholder, and claim the prize.

To be allowed to exit the Temple, (the party had fallen into it from another dungeon, and couldn't return the way they came) the Beholder demanded a tribute from the party.

One of the evil members of the party *sigh* ...

Shoved one of the other party members into one of the holes in the temple floor that led to the Beholder's main lair.

I allowed the character to make some very quick skill rolls to climb his way free before the Beholder could come down and Petrify him, and add him to his collection.

That stupid evil character continued to be a problem in the campaign, in addition to players who were unwilling to DO anything about him, even though they were playing GOOD characters... for example standing by while the character murdered two peasants that they had just rescued from an Ogre raiding party... in order to steal the money that the Ogres were trying to steal.

I remember we where playing (campain started I think at level 5) and there was a Pixie character. And evil pixie Warlock who sold his soul to the chaos god. The player himself said that he WOULD kill us, and made references to shooting us in the back. We all got annoyed at him getting the party into fights since, he was invisible and got infininte ranged attacks(warlock) and had his DR it didnt matter for him. At one point after he left, all who remained where all trying to figure out how we could kill him(expessially since, even asleep he was invisible)

just so you know, he eventually attacked me, and I ran back into our base of opperations. Other people we where kinda teamed up with didnt like a human throwing Alchemist fire, and a pixie shooting stuff. They cast "see invisibility" and then chain lightninged the both of us. Because of the fact that he was a pixie(by that I mean his LA meant a lack of HD) he died and I didnt.

just goes to show you that there is more than one way to kill a faerie

In my group, the 3lv dwarf rogue got mad at my 2lv ranger(specializes in long ranged) just for fun, and shot at me while I had my back turned. He missed, and needless to say, I shot back and hit for 11 dmg. He tried again later, and got the same result(except only 9dmg) He tried another time, and missed again. I stapled his feet to the groung with arrows from 30 ft away.( he had comsumed 3 cure potions at this point) He tried one more time, missing again, and I returned fire, accidentally criting, causing 27 dmg, and droped him to -2. Did he learn his lesson? Lets hope so for his sake...don't let things get out of hand...

I have one between Anji(Me, Half-Elf Ninja 3) and Mialee.(Origionally named elf Sorceror 3) She used to be a paladin, but hated combat and was allowed to resume play as a sorceror of the same level. If Anji wasn't already angry enough at her, she fled from a weak golem despite the fact that there were two fighters between her and the golem. Tordek(bet you can't guess his class and race, 3) was brought down to four hitpoints due to lack of backup magic. Anji luckilly got out unscathed,(He wields a greatsword and was thus drafted into the role of secondary fighter) but doesn't appreciate his partner coming in as soon as it's safe and taking her cut of the loot. Something has to give.
