Well, lets just say, a PC, has 6 wishes at his disposal, due to a tired DM, and the other players are BEGGING him to level them up (oh you have no idea the pain it is to listen to constant whining 3 days in a row). He has no idea what he wants to do with the wishes at all, he likes his stats just as they are, and doesn't need Gp..
He's 15th level, has great weapons, what should he do?

Well, using the Savage Species rules hecould give himself an ECL race, part of such a race, or a template, improve his cohort (as above) or just save them for a rainy day. If he doesn't have to expend the wishes right away, it might be useful to save them 'til he needs them.

Yeah, just save them.
If you don't have anything you want/need, just keep them in reserve for emergencies. Or you could always "waste" them by wishing for things like good weather for the crops of his home town for the next year, or that his family members stay safe while he's gone, or any number of other pure roleplaying uses.

Well, he's already in the Dragon Disciple PrC, so adding a template would be a pain.

Any other ideas?
Saving them would be a good idea too, but i hate having to listen to the whining

The friends have a point - with so much wealth at his disposal, the just thing is to divvy it up, whether it's in the form of rings, scrolls, or whatever.

Though levelling up through a wish is impossible, btw.

He could use them in roleplay to grant the party incredible powers that would make everyone's life easier, but not unbalance the game, most likely.

He could wish for a plate of neverending food, and a cup of neverending water, so that the party need never forage for food in the forests again. It would also make him a hit at any towns or villages they go through, to throw a small banquet with his plate and cup.

He could wish for a camp helper, an air or earth elemental to make up the camp, clean up debris, pitch tents, take them down, even do a watch/sentry duty. Also, he could wish for a tent of silence for the mages, so they can go into it, and study/rest without hearing the rest of the camp, or having them interrupt their important resting time. Maybe some folding cots of comfort, so everyone can sleep nicely.

He could wish for permanently mended clothing for everyone, so that they need never worry about all the cuts and tears they get on their cloaks, pants, trousers, blouses, etc..

He could wish for stone horses, so that you never need leave your horses outside the caves, as Ogre bait. Just shrink them down again and carry them along.

He could wish for everyone to be immune to fleas and lice, and other medievil vermin, and help them be disease free and less itchy.

You want to wish for 6 ham sandwiches. Because a DM isn't likely to try and find a loophole for a ham sandwich. If you ask for godly powers, they're likely to find some way to screw you; "Well, you didn't explicitly say you had to stay corporeal, now did you?" or "Well, you also turn bright orange and your hair is replaces by grass. Because you didn't explicitly forbid it." or whatever else their sick mind thinks up.

But a ham sandwich is usually safe. The DM is likely to be too busy breathing a sigh of relief to screw with it.

Only 94 more to go before you can make that Ring of Infinite Wishes. :D

Keeping them in reserve is good. If a fight goes sour, one wish can bring the cleric back (two if his body was destroyed). It's also useful for restoring destroyed equipment.

However, you can NOT trade in wishes for XP, barring a house-rule, so levelling up with a wish isn't possible. That said, granting an inherant bonus to someone's most-used stat is sure to be appreciated.

"I wish that if I die, I be resurrected in the nearest place to my death that I would think of as safe." is also a good bet, though it'd probably require more than one to pull off.

If he's really stuck about what to do? Auction. :)

However, he should probably watch his words. Phrases like "Oh man, I wish we were dead.", "I wish you'd just die!" and "I wish none of this had ever happened!" are not wise.

I'd spend 5 of the wishes for a +5 inherent bonus to my most important stat.
Mith

I would also go for the +5 inherent bonus to one stat, and save one for a rainy day.
I find it fairly rare that a PC actually has the opportunity to get the theorectial +5 inherent bonus. If you have the chance, go for it.

So he has nothing he wants, and the party are desperate to get their hands on this ultra powerful magic for themselves?

How many other players are there? if you can do one wish per person, then offer them this, as soon as they can decide on their wish.

If there are more other players than wishes, then simply offer them some or all of the wishes, as soon as they can decide amongst themselves how to use them.

Note that I always liked an unslotted item of Leomunds tiny hut (I may have gotten the name wrong. No books to hand...).
By the rules such an item is over 40K gold. Of course, no reasonable DM would actually charge that, since such an item is not overpowering, its just nice to have a small house wherever you make camp. Wishing for one of these will probably make overland travel much safer...

There are..7 or 8 other PCs.
I really appreciate all the ideas!

I dunno, but fun things to do are to make yourself more utilitarian, and cool.

Use the wishes for Truly Permanent:
Wings/Flight
Darkvision
Arcane Sight
Greater Arcane Sight (hey it is a wish)
Earth Glide
Water Breathing/No need to breath(dont air elementals get something like that?)
Enlarge/Reduce
Poison Immunity

None of those are truly godlike powers, but most are fun to have and make life alot easier for a single person.

Six wishes? 7-8 PCs...Ouch...

I'd wish for the following six items:
Portable Hole
Unslotted Leomund's Secure Shelter (20160 gp to do Leomund's Secure Sheleter 1/day for 14 hrs a day) (My Mystic Theurge created one of these babies and the party LOVES him for it).
A 5ft by 5ft carpet of flying
A Lyre of Building
A folding Boat

Just my suggestions as general purpose items that might help a whole party

If you have a abse, consider doing the following:

A shrine that casts "Plant Growth" 2/day (unslotted magic item). With this item a town would be very, very prosperous.

An unslotted item that casts Remove Disease 2/day. For healing villagers

An unslotter item that casts Remove Curse 2/day. For healing villagers

An unslotted item with a continous bless effect (8000gp) for a shrine.

Personally I would wish for six bottles of beer. Your dm will love you for it.

Cheers,

Tell him to wish that the other characters don't know he has wishes at his disposal. Then save the other 5 for rainy days. Whining over.

Retire into a luxurious, happy life. I mean, he's got twice what Aladdin had - If he can't make himself comfortable for the rest of his days, he's a piker.

What did Aladdin do?

1) Rose in social status through wealth.
2) Got the girl (or a selection of girls - he's an Arab).
3) Became heir to a city/nation.

And you'd have three left over. Who needs to adventure any more?

I'd agree with Lawless - first use one to get the other PCs to forget your good fortune. They are worthless greedy beggars to a man.

Then retire. :-)

Make a new character.

Why not wish for 6 tomes of gainful exercise +5 etc, that way you can get +5 to all your stats using only those 6 wishes.

Well, first of all I'd wonder how you got the wishes. Were they in a treasure that was divvied up among the PCs, and the wishes were your share? If so, tell the other players to shut up, they are your wishes to use for your PC's benefit. Just like a magic sword the fighter got is HIS and the other PCs shouldn't whine about wanting to use it. Similarly if your PC went off and did something on his own to get them.

If they were acquired by your PC as part of a party adventure, they are party treasure and should be divided among the PCs. With a total of 8 or 9 PCs, 6 should get one wish each to use as they choose, and the other 2 or 3 should get additional treasure of equal value to a scroll of wish. Note that in this case, the other players are perfectly correct to be complaining. It'd be similar to finding a treasure of 1,000,000 GP and claiming that 900,000 of it was your rightful share.

I think you can see what that would do... :D

Personally, I had an image of all these adventurers trying to fold around themselves - knees to face, totally rigid... shutting up like a clam or a book.

Hmmm, does that make me  or  ?

use them to get instantly ressurected then next 6 times you die...

or just say: "look, this is wrong and unbalanced....lets forget i got these wishes, okay?"

you: "wah wah wah, my character has no ambition and is perfectly settled with everything he has so there is no point in adventuring let alone using these 6 wishes i got"

In an episode of the X-Files, someone who had just met a djinni yelled at his boss:
"I wish you'd just shut the hell up!"

Which resulted in an instantaneous loss of mouth on his boss' part. :D He went to a hospital and got it fixed, but it must've been an HMO 'cause he sure wasn't pretty no more afterwards.
