| DemonsOfRazgriz12-06-04, 09:01 PM | We are going to go up against two juvenille red dragons, six chain golems, a dozen orc mages, a necromancer, and a cancer cleric or cancer mage (I don't remember) who has the revenge of the sun ability(I think that's what it is called) in which my oppenent roll's a percentile and if it's a 100% we say hello to 3 artifical sun's. The terrain is a flat meadow The charachter's are a level 10 wizard, level 10 cleric, a kender bard(Joker), 4 mercenaries all are Black/Shadow Dragon's in human form. One is a rogue, one is a Cleric, one is a monk, and one is a black guard. Is there any more charachter's, weapon's, armor, or item's we should add in in order to survive this. My guess is to add in a dozen Phant's Stones which allow re-roll's I forgot to mention all the enemies are all modified in which they have a rather "large" advantage over us. Any help would do. |
| Encard12-07-04, 02:23 AM | I... see... What are your resources? That's a rather important consideration here. |
| Mordmorgan the Mad12-07-04, 02:35 AM | I... see... What are your resources? That's a rather important consideration here. At this point it doesn't much matter what they bring. Their DM's going for TPK. |
| ShadowDragon868512-07-04, 03:03 AM | At this point it doesn't much matter what they bring. Their DM's going for TPK. Yeah, that sounds about right to me. The best resource you can bring to this game? Bribe money. |

Heh, the most overlooked DM qustion that I always consider: Who's paying for all this? I mean, that group of opponents your DM set up there would stomp up-and-down on my suspension of disbelief, although your party isn't much better - four crossbreed Dragon mercenaries... um... okay. Anyway, I hate this crap when DM's go all super-evil and make these uberlegions without any rhyme or reason. If you're the Wizard then shoot yourself with your Wand of Fireballs or something and say smugly: Ha! You're not kiling me today, I already did it for you. Of course when he has the Necromancer raise you from the dead you'll have some problems... but either way you're getting shafted. So why not go kicking and screaming? |
| Board_Rider12-07-04, 10:58 AM | I agree with the above statements....a TPK is definately/probably going to happen. I mean what EL is that? Perhaps your DM is burned out and just wants to have someone else DM. Advice? Ottilukes Resilient Sphere(?)...then run. Or Teleport.....frustrate the TPK bringer!! |
| JabberWocky12-07-04, 11:02 AM | ...you're all screwed. In the sodomized way. |
| Dragontooth12-07-04, 11:33 AM | Yell "Parley" Then ask to join their ranks |
| Aeromus12-07-04, 02:37 PM | Start fighting each other to the death... make the DM sit and watch in utter amazement. When only one is left alive, approach the enemies and say. "OK I'm here to collect the bounty on thier heads." Should be interesting. |
| DemonsOfRazgriz12-07-04, 02:50 PM | We just had the confrontation we barely made it, the DM has a wicked sense of humor. My charachter Razgriz a Black/Shadow Dragon which is the cleric well my weapon was a silver sword with 3 Dire Hawk feathers and a +8 to melee, well that's all what I thought it did. Well I'm "So "Very" Wrong". I found out when I'm in a rage two efects acctivate. 1 effect. The feathers glow and just lets say the two Juvenille dragons lost their head's it increased the speed of the swing so much, I just cut wright through their necks. 2 effect Triple strength of myself and all allies. I'm just happy the effect will happen once per day since I just found out about it. |
| JabberWocky12-07-04, 02:53 PM | ...your DM is either crazy, or cares little for anything beyond cinematic effect. o.-.O |
| DemonsOfRazgriz12-07-04, 03:05 PM | Yeah, I wonder he must love to put our charachters up to a challenge like that and at the last second tell us our weapon's have this or that or whatever we are using. |
| JabberWocky12-07-04, 03:08 PM | I was more referring to the fact that one of the PCs is a black/shadow dragon (some kind of hybrid? Half-black dragon shadow dragon? o.-.o) with a sword that triples every party member's strength and beheads enemies. You'd better be so epic that it's not even funny anymore. u.-.u |
| DemonsOfRazgriz12-07-04, 03:22 PM | HAHA. My friends and I we love to test things out like that charachter we try to push it to the limits making it extremelly powerful and yet still a fair enough charachter. We just reall push the limits that's all we do. |

Btw, it sounds like your DM needs to read the rules regarding "If the PCs are taking on encounters that are eight CR's or more higher, he needs to seriously consider the direction his campaign is going." |
| Felonious Monk12-08-04, 04:05 AM | Another DM on the list of "Balance? That's when I give the side that's losing the fight a +5 vorpal sword!" Grrrr... |
