| sanzo the space worm01-02-07, 10:55 PM | I'm making a Lvl 1 Human/Werwolf fighter but I dont have a Monster Manual or DM's Guide. instead of using werewolf race from Monster Manual my DM wants me to make a "Lesser werewolf" by using the shapeshifter stat bonuses, still keeping any other werwolf racial traits, feats, and special abilities. I forgot how the point by system works also. Plus when I change into a werewolf do I have to take off my scale mail? |
| sanzo the space worm01-02-07, 11:08 PM | The campaign is also Eberron and I'm wondring, what kind of eneimes will i be facing along the way? |
| Senevri01-03-07, 09:50 AM | There is no way any type of Werewolf character is ECL1. That aside... - Campaign is Eberron... you're asking, "I live on planet Earth, what language do I speak?" - http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/lycanthrope.htm - I have no idea what your DM means by "lesser werewolf" - check out Shifter, though. |
| Neutronium_Dragon01-03-07, 02:01 PM | You'd be better off going with a wolf-themed shifter, perhaps using the Weretouched Master prestige class. A werewolf in the standard rules won't be level 1. Even adding "just" those modifiers will put you into ECL territory. There is a good sourcebook for dealing with low/no-LA lycanthropes, which you should probably look at if you want to proceed with this idea: http://www.seankreynolds.com/skrg/products/005COTM/ That said, lycanthropes in Eberron, even non-evil ones, are a bad choice - the Silver Flame types will give you constant grief. |

| Neutronium_Dragon01-03-07, 08:38 PM | The point-buy system is described in the DMG on P169. I don't think it's actually part of the SRD because it's character creation related. |

Basically, instead of taking a class each level, you become more and more 'werewolf'. This allows you to start of als a first-level werewolf, and this allows for great roleplaying throughout your progress in levels 2 and 3. As a DM I would certainly allow this and as a player I would love this. As a reference, one of my players is taking levels in the Vampire Template Class (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20030824a) and it's really balanced. |
