| BoringInfoGuy05-23-07, 12:47 AM | Thanks to everyone who helped in my last Paladin Player's Problem thread. For those who didn't get around to reading it, my DM gave me a choice. Have a standard Warhorse for my paladin's mount, or a chocobo from Final Fantasy, using the stats provided in Dragon Magazine #323. After reading and debating with various posters, I decided to go with the chocobo. But that left me with a small problem. A miniature problem, to be exact. You can't exactly go to the store and buy a chocobo mini to use in your D&D game. I had a little plastic one, but it was a) too cutesy, and b) purple. No one had a problem with having a chocobo in the game, but the purple figure was annoying. So, please forgive me. While this is the "What's a player to do" forum, please indulge me if instead I show what a player did instead. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/55201299/ |

| pres_man05-23-07, 03:49 AM | Pretty cool. Though maybe it would have been easier to just invest in some Peeps. |
| Deacon Liadon05-23-07, 07:20 AM | I can just see it going "WARK!" That's such a cool mini. |
| yellowdingo05-23-07, 08:42 AM | I strongly suggest you track down the Naussica Manga. Princess Naussica is Paladin Material riding her rather large mount. Kai is the six foot tall drumstick's name. Naussica wears armor and wields a ceramic sword...She has a problem with taking lives though. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/thumbnails/200x300/reviews/covers/Nausicaa_manga.jpg?1165828235 Sorry bout having to this linkless, the site rejects links. "Wark!" Means: Where is dinner? "Coo!" Means: Me happy! |

Did you make that yourself or did a friend make it? Either way. Kudos to whoever it was! Flippin awesome! Pretty cool. Though maybe it would have been easier to just invest in some Peeps. :heehee |
| BoringInfoGuy05-23-07, 12:00 PM | It's my own work. You know, I had peeps around the place, but never even considered using them. Could've saved myself a lot of effort. Naussica no Tani no Kaze (sp?) is one of my favorite series. Then again, just about anything by Miyazaki counts as one of my favorite series / movies / manga. |
| Murrdox05-23-07, 12:29 PM | Very nice custom mini job. Great job on the wire-frame. |
| BoringInfoGuy05-23-07, 04:39 PM | Very nice custom mini job. Great job on the wire-frame. Thank you. That was the second wire frame I did. The first attempt turned out to be too flimsy, and a bit smaller than I wanted. Later on, I regretted not including the wings in the frame. That oversight made the wings very difficult to shape and attach. Thank you everyone for the kind comments. I'm sorry the pictures were not clearer. Getting the camera to focus on something that small was difficult. I tried different techniques, with and without flash. Which is why it sometimes appears yellow, and sometimes orange. |
| phoen77705-23-07, 04:54 PM | :mymy:  You are one talented individual. I doubt it could be done better. (At least not until they perfect low-cost micro-robotics and make minis that can move as though they were real :D ) :cookie: for you... ...and another :cookie: for your exceptional Chocobo! |
