| Tiny Fists of Death03-13-05, 05:31 PM | As a DM, or as a player, do you think a Zombie Half-Construct Ninja-Pirate would be a playable PC? |
| Insane Pixie03-13-05, 06:21 PM | I actually didn't...I had forgotten my password to this guy. They turned out being the same. |
| Dark_Tide03-13-05, 06:21 PM | No offense, but are you playing DnD? As both DM and player, the weirdest character I have encountered was a middle-aged human rogue/fighter that became a werewolf. I stick to the simple core races and classes because you don't end up with players that want to be exotic and annoying creatures. Honestly, this character you have there would be a nightmare for the DM, not to mention that you would never have the rules right and everyone at your table wouldn't be able to take the campaign seriously. Tone it down alittle and the DM could use it, but otherwise, its a joke. Of course, if it fits perfectly in the campaign or style of play you use, it might work. Based on the way I've always played DnD, this would be forbidden... I guess there is no right way to play this game. |
| Insane Pixie03-13-05, 07:06 PM | ... :weep: Nobody LOVES me! :raincloud |
| Insane Pixie03-13-05, 07:12 PM | ...everyone at your table wouldn't be able to take the campaign seriously... I'm not sure how you play, but my group and I like having "fun". Main Entry: fun Pronunciation: 'f&n Function: noun Etymology: English dialect fun to hoax, perhaps alteration of Middle English fonnen, from fonne dupe 1 : what provides amusement or enjoyment; specifically : playful often boisterous action or speech <full of fun> 2 : a mood for finding or making amusement <all in fun> 3 a : AMUSEMENT, ENJOYMENT <sickness takes all the fun out of life> b : derisive jest : SPORT, RIDICULE <a figure of fun> 4 : violent or excited activity or argument <let a snake loose in the classroom; then the fun began> synonyms FUN, JEST, SPORT, GAME, PLAY mean action or speech that provides amusement or arouses laughter. FUN usually implies laughter or gaiety but may imply merely a lack of serious or ulterior purpose <played cards just for fun>. JEST implies lack of earnestness in what is said or done and may suggest a hoaxing or teasing <hurt by remarks said only in jest>. SPORT applies especially to the arousing of laughter against someone <teasing begun in sport led to anger>. GAME is close to SPORT, and often stresses mischievous or malicious fun <made game of their poor relations>. PLAY stresses the opposition to earnest without implying malice or mischief <pretended to strangle his brother in play>. |
| Jayr03-13-05, 07:13 PM | It has an Int of nothing minus six, so no, unless you have the Book of Vile Darkness (zombieful goodness!) or play Lucasarts classics (anyone who figures out that reference gets a yummy cookie :D) |
| Insane Pixie03-13-05, 07:21 PM | And now, putting the pain back in campain... |
| Cymraegmorgan03-13-05, 07:48 PM | As a DM, or as a player, do you think a Zombie Half-Construct Ninja-Pirate would be a playable PC? I am assuming from your other posts that you are serious in your question, so here goes... No. Drop the Zombie part, first off. Being a mindless undead creature under the control of another clashes. Real boring, real fast. If by Pirate, you mean Swashbuckler, both that class and the Ninja class clash with the clunkiness of a Construct, in my most high and holy opinion. Try playing an intelligent Ooze Wilder. |
| Nytmare03-13-05, 07:51 PM | I'm 98% sure that this person is making a joke referring to the Ninjapiratezombierobot clan from the Kingdom of Loathing. Maybe 98.5% sure. |
| Jayr03-13-05, 07:54 PM | Tell me more, tell me more! |
| ILL34GL303-13-05, 08:01 PM | Holy canole I can't believe anyone made a serious reply to this. That said, I am a Nigerian banker and one of my clients has passed away leaving a balance of $12,987,456 in his account with no heirs. With your kind graciousness, maybe perhaps we could set up an account and set you up as an heir. All it will require from you is a Wstern Union transfer of $12,500 to set up said account. Your cut of the "inheritance" will be 33%. PM me ASAP. |
| Nytmare03-13-05, 08:17 PM | Holy canole I can't believe anyone made a serious reply to this. I will have you know that this is all too serious. Taken from the official Ninjapiratezombierobot Clan webpage: "Off the coast of the Kingdom of Loathing, hidden behind a cloud of mist and superstition, looms La Isla Misteriosa del Misterio, a bleak and wasted rock with cliffs of skull-white shale. Hidden deep within the recesses of this forsaken isle is the lair of a shadowy alliance of mankind's greatest foes, the deadly ninja, the ruthless pirate, the festering zombie, and the untiring robot." |
| Insane Pixie03-13-05, 08:29 PM | Wow. I honestly did not know that you were serious about the Kingdom of Loathing. I didn't know it existed. And the Half-Zombie was actually supposed to be Half-Vampire...Vampire Robot Pirate Ninjas! ... Or not. |
| Insane Pixie03-13-05, 09:11 PM | Nevermind.... |
| Draco Strang03-14-05, 09:13 AM | No to both the Zombie and Vampire ninja construct things. Like everyone else has been saying....it's not a top-notch template. Why do people need to play the wierdest thing around? Hell, in most campaigns, we spend all of our time trying to kill stuff like that. |
| Aricandor03-14-05, 12:01 PM | Now, Strang, *my* camp has seen quite a lot of PC wierdoes. Not on the scope of THAT abomination though... I've had a half-orc werebear, a spellwarped half-orc barbarian, a half-celestial human soulknife.. The list goes on and one. Point is that the combo wouldn't work. An Intelligence penalty to something with no Intelligence score is just... Too wierd. |
| green_yawgmoth03-14-05, 12:46 PM | Change zombie to Corpse creature from BoVD and you've got a rockin' PC! Ninja 10/Dread pirate 10 half golem corpse creature. I am so making this character sometime. Edit: The base creature will be an awakened monkey, because monkeys are also cool. :P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/yawgmoth/kittyjig.gif |
| Nytmare03-14-05, 02:04 PM | The base creature will be an awakened monkey, because monkeys are also cool. :P That'll never work. As everybody knows, monkies are the mortal enemies of Ninjapiratezombierobots. |
| Cymraegmorgan03-14-05, 02:19 PM | That'll never work. As everybody knows, monkies are the mortal enemies of Ninjapiratezombierobots. I didn't know that...I thought RabidAwakenedSquirrelBards were the mortal enemies of Ninjapiratezombierobots. Monkies are the mortal enemies of AwakenedBananaHalfConstructIcecreamLevit ators(floats). |
