| Minos_Vol02-15-05, 01:31 AM | Somtimes you almost wish the rogue had gotten to it first... okay, my Lawful Good Cleric of Yondalla/ Church Inquisitor, with the Community, Law, and Inquisition domains. He plans on building the largest, greatest, temple on the continent, and starting his own sect of the church. Which he can soon do assuming the group finds a certain old red dragon horde... so, my cleric stumbled upon a genie, who will grant him three wishes. but my problem is, I only know what my first wish is: +1 Wisdom. past that, I don't know what to wish for. |
| Vharuck02-15-05, 01:38 AM | Use another Wish to get an additional +1 to Wisdom (if worded correctly and used in succession, they can stack). Then with the third, ask for a nice dragonbane weapon or dragon-fighting gear or maybe a small dragon-fighting army (a bunch of low to mid-level rangers with favored enemy (dragons), using the mercenary upkeep chart in the DMG to guess at how many you can have). |
| Suicidal Cavalry Attack02-15-05, 01:46 AM | If you plan on leading a breakaway temple, wishing for a +1 to Charisma would be a good use for Wish#2. And a good dragon bane weapon would probably be nice, too. |
| Minos_Vol02-15-05, 01:48 AM | good idea, but the party consists of five 16 lvl characters, and the last four dragons have been reletivley easy, and the fighter just got leadership (as well as a stronghold) so I'm not too worried. thanks though, I had thought of just +3 to wisdom, but I also considered asking for a +6 periapt of wisdom, but I have the cash for one, just no place to find it... I have a +2, but it would take too long to enhance it. we don't have 36 days in which to do that. (we have around five or six near epic NPCs, two of which have armies, the others having 18 HD monsters at thier disposal.) I wish I was kidding, our DM has a love for dramaticly dangerous situations. |
| mcnoo02-15-05, 01:48 AM | You could of course wish for the largest and greatest temple on the continent in parts. "I wish for the front third *specify*, the middle third *specify and the back end *specify*" Or, alternately "I wish i could travel to yondallah's plane, within conversational distance of her" "I wish i knew the best way to address yondallah to make the best impression" "I wish i could appear *choose your ideal destination* from yondallah's home plane by placing both my thumbs in my mouth and jumping backwards while humming" (no chance of accidentlly coming home early) Go there, have a nice chinwag with your goddess and try to wrangle some extra support out of her for your own temple, pointing out how glorious it would all be and that you used three wishes you could have used to selfish ends just so you could try and worship her better. Gods love ego trips. |
| JadeSpider964302-15-05, 07:32 AM | is this a benevolent or manevolent genie? If it's manevolent, wish that it would be sealed back up into it's bottle and the bottle be burried someplace where no one will EVER find it and that the genie can never escape from. if it's benevolent, ask for cookies (don't forget to share the cookies with the genie) |
| Midnight Lurker02-15-05, 07:53 AM | Wish for things that are important to the tenets of your PCs religion. You are a cleric... |

With that support slaying dragons shouldn't be a problem. Just wish that you all are teleported next to the dragon lair, keep two wishes if the combat goes wrong and after you defeated the dragon do whatever you want with the wishes (Maybe using one to teleport your group and back to where you came from, taking the horde with you) |
| Minos_Vol02-16-05, 01:49 AM | mmmmm..... cookies..... anyway, it's a very polite and benevolent genie, also, the wishes have a time limit, one a day, for three days, so I have some time in between each wish :plotting: also, I asked my deity (via a successful divination spell) that building the temple would in fact be an appriciated act of devotion. hey, thanks again for all the input! :D I really am taking all the suggestions into consideration. |
| JadeSpider964302-16-05, 05:06 AM | I think your seriously underestimating the power of the cookies. You see you don't just wish for regular cookies, you wish a giant batch of cookies that all randomly increase your basic stats permanently. Cleric to group: "Could I interest anyone in a Dex +1 Oatmeal cookie?" Rogue: "Oatmeal? YUCK!, gimme that Cha +1 Chocolate cookie" And for your next wish....Brownies!!!! |
