Has anyone ever had or used an absorbing shield? One touch attack and it absorbing someone, no save, pretty much instant death. With all of the people claiming they can do thousands of points of damage, why not just carry around a bunch of absorbing shields and simply touch everything that's not huge size or larger and insta-kill it?

Absorbing Shield: This +1 heavy steel shield is flat black and seems to absorb light. Once every two days, on command, it can disintegrate an object that it touches, as the spell but requiring a melee touch attack.

Strong transmutation; CL 17th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, disintegrate; Price 50,170 gp; Cost 25,170 gp + 2,000 XP.

Point being that 99% (or more) of the opponents you face will be "creatures" not "objects".

Given, 3.5 is full of exploitable massive damage and/or instakill builds and combinations, but it's not THAT easy to conquer the world.

Besides, even if it did work like that, you'd still have to touch them, and they'd have to fail their save.
