Her caster level for this effect is one-half her monk level (rounded down). Does anyone know of any place that offers a clear answer as to whether or not the monk is allowed to take other PC's with him when he uses the Abundant Step ability? Both games I'm involved with argue about whether or not the statement "a monk can..." or the "as if using the spell dimension door ..." makes the ruling. Is so bad that in one game, monks can take others and in the other game our monk can take only himself. Any ideas? |

I'd rule for allowing others to come with. Really, it isn't much of a deal for just a 4th level spell 1/day, when you get it at a level where all the spellcasters have teleport available at twice the caster level as the monk; allowing only the monk to use the ability kind of makes it all the more worse of an ability. |

In our 6 man party of level 12, running through Shackled City, we have 1 Mystic Theurge, 1 Ranger, 1 Monk, 1 Rogue and 2 Fighters. In order to get the whole group into some places, we really need the extra D. Door with the ability to get 1 other PC through. |

Having this ability allows the monk to close with any opponant, anywhere he can see them, and get them flat-footed in all likelyhood. Hardly a wasted power when the BBEG laughs at the part from behind his wards, wall of fire and minions of madness, threatening to smite them with his spells as they fight through them all ... until the monk pops up behind him and grapples, trips or stuns him, then cuts loose with Greater Flurry. |
