I am running a level 3 ninja who likes to pickpocket occasionally, but another party member likes to have her wolf sniff me out after i ghost step. Any suggestions on how to neutralize a wolf's sense of smell?

Why is the wolf sniffing after you? Sounds like you're stealing from your party members.

Um......yes I was. But it was BEFORE we were actually party members. But since that event my character views that wolf as a threat, since he couldn't do anything to stop being sniffed out. So, I need suggestions to keep from being sniffed out.

when you ghost step, use powder bombs. These powder bombs are laced with a strong olfactory dust. this will block the wolf's smell for at least as long as your ghoststep.

Translation: I am trying to steal from the party (or else get them into trouble by stealing from third parties), and they are on to me. How can I get away with it and spoil their game?

Answer: Dis not the dude that doth watch thy back. Period.

OK, maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but it sounds like they are scared that you are either stealing from them or doing things that will land them in trouble. Don't, it can ruin their game completely, and it isn't, much to ask of you. In real terms, there are not many ways to do this anyway without it being really obvious that is what you are doing, which will only make them more suspicious.

QFT

Pay attention to that. PvP does not work in DnD.

But if you're insistant, I would suggest ghost-stepping from some frequently visited place, dropping a scent-bomb just before you do so. This will lead to numorous trails for the poor wolf (technicaly lupine, not canine) to follow.

I stole from them BEFORE we were actually party members. My character doesn't steal from the party members anymore, but still views the wolf's sense of smell as a threat, and wants to take measures against future sniffing out, be it by that wolf or otherwise. What book are the powder bombs in?

No, this would affect cats. You want dogstink.

Darkstalker feat from "Lords of Madness: Book of Aberrations".

No auto-detect for blindsense, blindsight, scent, or tremorsense.

In the short term there are some spells in "Spell Compendium":
Invisibility, Greater (sorcerer/wizard 8)
remove scent (bard 1, druid 1, ranger 1, sorcerer/wizard 1)

Actually, no it doesn't. That was one of the 'throw of the bloodhound myths' that they tested on Mythbusters recently.

This seems more a case of you being upset that your special ability can be trumped by another party member than it being a matter of just your character's annoyance with the wolf.

Why is so important?

Is the wolf endangering you somehow?
