dirkformica 07-10-07, 07:29 PM	I'm looking for opinions about the interaction between a character's alignment and the forms he can Polymorph into. Is there any bearing? For example, do you think it would go against the beliefs and morals of a Lawful Good character to Polymorph into a Demonic form? What about a Chaotic Good character? or Neutral character? Would the Alignment descriptors of the form, such as Chaotic or Evil affect this decision for you? Since Polymorph doesn't have any alignment descriptor inherently (unlike, say, a Summon Monster spell,) I tend to feel the form doesn't make any difference; it's just a means of gaining abilities/powers. And I can see no RAW reasons to restrict this at all. But I can see that others think differently and wanted to get other perspectives on the matter. Thanks in advance.
Caelic 07-10-07, 08:15 PM	I think it would depend more on the individual character than on his or her alignment. Would, say, a Lawful Good spy totally committed to the cause of King and country scruple against Polymorphing into a demon to reconnoiter an evil army? Likely not; he might find the form distasteful, but would almost certainly put aside his distaste in order to perform his duty. On the other hand, another character infatuated with his own good looks might not be willing to Polymorph into even a form with an alignment identical to his own.
