| Endarire06-13-04, 02:12 AM | I'm a CG Pixie Rogue in a Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil campaign who succeeded in hitting a fellow, would-be assassin PC with an amnesia bolt. Another non-evil PC 'killed' 3 PCs in 2 rounds, but this amnesiac was in on the plot. (The 'dead' characters went 'poof' when they'd normally be dead.) As this was the character's first session, the amnesiac has no character development. Is it within alignment to suggest to this person into helping me, so I can train him toward good, even if he works as a menial laborer the rest of his life while I garnish his wages? Even if the assassins weren't evil before trying to kill us on a whim, they sure came quite close to being evil after. I believe in giving people chances, but this guy, at best, deserves the role of meat shield. Do you most advise I...? 1: kill him 2: make him tank, but don't heal him 3: make him tank, but heal him 4: make him a commoner, but garnish his wages -EE |
| Raynard the Black06-13-04, 02:53 AM | Originally posted by Endarire I'm a CG Pixie Thank you for sharing...;) If you want to take the amnesiac on as a henchman you could be in for more than you bargain for. If he ever gets his memory back, you could have an implacable foe once he figures out that you used him. He also would be privvy to the parties weaknesses and strengths due to spending time with you over the course of your adventures. I recommend remanding him to the local constables in the next town you reach and let it go at that. If you want a henchman, I suggest you find one the old-fashioned way and hire an adventurer from a local bar. Also, options 1,2, and 4 are not really GOOD options. They tend toward being neutral to evil in nature. I recommend that you either take this person as a henchman with full pay while trying to show him the error of his ways or you turn him over to the local authorities. Hope this helps. |
