If you're a fan of the Best Lines Ever (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=304933) thread, this is important.

I've been thinking about getting some of these quotes into some sort of book format through cafepress.

Anyone who is interested needs to e-mail redparrotgames@gmail.com with the following information.

Your Name
Quotes (complete with character class and race)
Anyone player's name you can remember from the group you played with so they can be listed in the "Mad Props" section

Those that e-mail me, if I need anything else, I'll e-mail you personally and let you know. These quotes need to be from games you've run or played in or contributed to the thread yourself.

Aside from myself, I have 2 other contributors. I'm hoping to get started on the editing by May 1st. If all I've got are the two contributors, I'll have to assume there isn't any interest and abandon the project.

So, you've got until May 1st.

I hope to hear from you. :)

You mean I have to find out the names of people I've never met that I game with via IRC? Hmmmm.... this could be useful for mail bomb purposes as well if I ever get PKed. :plotting:

Note for those that don't get black humor: I am not a terrorist, I do not send mail bombs, nor do I know how to make them.

Hell, why not. Count me in; give me a bit to gather lines, though. 'tis my birthday today, and I'm not DMing.

Hey Kittencaboodle,

This idea to make this into a little book sounds really good, And if I can find it later when it is made I would like to have a copy.

I just don't know any lines I'd like to see in this book of yours since there are so many good qoutes.

Just let me know if it is done so I can check it out.

Greets.

Well, with a week to go, I have gotten many claims of interest in getting such a book...

Not so much in the way of contributing though. :(

Aside from the 2 entrants and myself, there have been no other quotes submitted.

If I don't get some entries by next week, there isn't going to be much I can do aside from letting the book fall to the wayside. :weep:

If you're interested,

please please please

Send me your entries ASAP. Harrass DMs to send me THEIR entries... SAVE OUR BOOK!

Edited to add: email entries to redparrotgames@gmail.com

We're down to the final days of contributing. So far, I Have a grand total of 7 contributors.

That's including me.

At this point the book would mostly be quotes from my own campaign and would only be about 30 pages long.

I'm closing contributions at 12 am , Monday May 1st, 2006. After that point, I will make a decision as to whether or not to proceed with the book.

If the trend remains as it is currently, I cannot justify submitting a book mostly of my own quotes.

So, I appeal to you one last time.

Please send me your entries.

Pick out the authors of your favorite entries from the thread and send them a message and ask them to submit. If you post a line to that thread, send me a copy.

If you don't the book will not get off the ground.

Please, email entries to redparrotgames@gmail.com

Thing is, I would totally like to read such a book, but I would never pay for it unless it was huge (and thus had a relatively comprehensive collection). However, I guess it's the publisher's job to do market research, not yours.

We have 10 entrants.

It's the bare minimum I decided I needed to try and put the book together so I am going to start going through and editing. If there's enough interest, MAYBE I'll try a volume 2.

However, getting the contributors I have was rather difficult, and despite interest professed... No one really responded with quotes.

That being said, for those that decide to send quotes in late, I may include them if they come in before I get done editing the book together. I have a few things to do to get the book ready as it is, so keep them coming.

Why don't you use the quotes from "Best Lines Ever" thread and edit them into a book format. Also where would I be able to get this book (Free or not I would want to read it).

I can't just take people's stories from the thread for 2 reasons...

1 -- They aren't my lines to take. The people that told those stories have to gie me permission to use them.

2 -- It's an etiquette thing. I want ot be able to give credit where credit is due, and I can only get the information I need by communicating directly with the poster.

As I said, I'll still consider quotes that are sent in until I've finished the editing process. Right now, I'm writing an introduction. After that, I'll go through, edit and arrange, and then I'll work on the cover art and send it off for publishing. If I'm going to do this, might as well do it right. :)
