"playable" Race with Charisma Modifier? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-15-07, 12:58 PM Ok, heres the deal. I want to create a sorcerer with just UBER Charisma. I don't really care about the other stats, but I want the charisma to be practically Divine. My reasoning for this is I want to make a really really Good looking/likeable character. The type of person everyone can't help but like right off the bat. I chose Sorcerer because thats seems an appropriate class for a charismatic character(dont wanna be a bard)

So are there any races that get a racial bost in charisma. It could be a monster class or a half/half whatever. Any ideas for pulling this off? We're gonna be doing point buy so I get max out my starting charisma to 18, no worries there. But I want as many natural boosts in charisma as possible.

03-15-07, 01:07 PM Well, the perhaps best suggestion would be "star elf" from (iirc) Unapproachable East (a Forgotten Realms supplement). Afaik they gain +2 Cha and a -2 Con with no LA.

All other [monstrous] races with exorbitant Charisma (succubus, nymph, lillend, ...) usually have a hefty LA and/or some racial HD attached that will just slaughter your caster level and make your character utterly impotent as a caster at his ECL.

03-15-07, 06:24 PM I'm currently using the Assimar in my Wilder (CHA-driven psionic manifester) and it is working well. Of course, my class abilities allow me to do a bit more than the Sorcerer (manifesting in armor, larger HD, etc...), and I'm aiming for the Thrallherd (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/thrallherd.htm) PrC. If you use the new Expanded Classes (http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070214a) variant rules for Expanded Knowledge feats, you should be able to qualify easily.

Then again, you may not be familiar with Psionics, or be set on the Sorcerer; if so, feel free to ignore me! ;)

03-15-07, 07:21 PM Vistany from Ravenloft campaign setting is a LA+2 race with a +4 charisma bonus. Its a good race for a sorc with lots of gypsie flavour but the LA hurts a spellcaster allot.
