Any Thoughts on a Medieval Soccer Hooligan Character Template?

They poured out of the jousting Arena in a small drunken group, more ejected than willing.
From the far end of the street a band of Black knight supporters heckled them. Durl turned to face them grabbing at his crotch.
"You want some? You want some? Come on." Durl dropped one of his two inch diameter steel balls onto his leather workboot and hurled it the one hundred and twenty feet distance down the road at the band of drunks smashing one in the skull and a second with the riccochet. It downed the first drunk instantly and the second grabbed at his head and screamed.

The enraged band of Black Knight Supporters turned and charged up the lane screaming.

Range of 150' on a thrown weapon?!

That range increment is 50 feet MORE than a longbow, 40' MORE than a Composite Longbow, and 30' MORE than a Heavy Crossbow. (The 3 best-ranged weapons in the game!) For additional comparison, all other thrown weapons in the SRD's weapon table have a range increment of 10'.

There's a reason weapons like bows and crossbows were invented: to hurl a projectile farther, faster, and with greater accuracy than mere muscle power alone. :teach:

STR bonus has always added to damage on thrown weapons. The more muscle you have, the harder you're going to throw something. DEX bonus always applies to ranged attack rolls. It's redundant to specify this, and it makes it sound as though you're making an unnecessary exception to the rules for this weapon.

Finally, are the feats you noted below somehow required to use a hobshot? It's unclear...

Hobshot Range; 150 Feet? Not unreasonable with this weapon. It is the legs that do the "throwing" not the weaker arms.

With regards to the strength and dexterity bonuses, i was considering adding the strength and dexterity to the hit roll. With this particular weapon both strength and dexterity are its "to-hit" factors.

Strength also adding to damage it could draw on the power attack feats. But that would blur the line between ranged and melee feats.

The two main feats suggested and the ranged feats comment simply suggest the better feat path.

Well, yeah, but the COMPOSITE LONGBOW only has a range of 110 ft. I realize that that doesn't make too much sense, but I don't think it's possible to kick an object that great a distance with real accuracy, even if you can make it cover the full distance anyway.
