tn320 05-01-06, 03:43 PM	In our campaign we use antifeats. When taking an antifeat you can then take another feat at the DM's approval. I found 2 in the Dragon Magazine that match my Dwarven Envokers personality. I picture my wizard to be impulsive brash and quick acting. However, My DM and I do not think the penalties are appropriate enough for a wizards and they will not cause enough hindrance to warrant taking another feat. The DM agreed if I modify the negative to make it more appropriate to a wizard I would be able to take these and antifeats and then substitute them with another feat. Here are the abilities that need to modify to better fit a wizards. Please help because I can't think of a way to modify them to wizards. Bravado - you may not gain AC bonus from dodge Brash - -6 penalty to AC against attacks of opportunity Or maybe make up you own can call it impulsive and give a hindrance that goes with it. Thanks for any help in advance.
Silverstream 05-01-06, 09:46 PM	Looking at the two, it does make sense why he wouldn't allow it. Wizards have never been the best when it comes to AC, and, as the books put it, lowering an already low ability of a class (AC or BAB for a wizard) doesn't make up for increasing one of their better abilities (which you probably will be doing when you take your feat). So, to give you some other ones. Overconfidant: Your evoker cannot cast defensively, as he (foolishly) stands strong in the face of imminent danger. Narrow Focus: If your concentration is ruined while spell casting or while sustaining a concentration duration spell (such as by taking damage), the spell automatically fails without a Concentration check (can still cast defensively, though). And to modify the ones that you've already given... Bravado: Your Dexterity is treated as 2 less for determining dex bonus to AC. (so while you can get those rare dodge bonuses, you've got a permanent -1 to AC). Brash: You are treated as flat-footed for purposes of AoO's (so no Dex bonus, no dodge bonus, and you can be sneak attacked). A couple might seem harsh, but then again, you ARE a wizard, and I believe in tailoring such things to the circumstance. Good luck with your playing! ^_^
