| Spaced12-01-04, 09:22 AM | My advice for the charecter would be suicide. Followed by you creating one that could actually have a challange. |
| DM_Erik12-01-04, 09:39 AM | take the feat prefered spellcasting from complete divine. It lets you crank up your caster lvl by 4 but no more than your hd... So even if you have lvl in another class, you don't loose you caster lvl for spells, SR, etc... or divine Metamagic from comp divine also... You choose one metamagic feat(maximize) and on the fly you can decide to do a maximize flamestrike and instead of boosting the spell slot by 3, you use 3 turn on your turn per day. Basicly your using the number of turn per day instead of higher spell slot! |
| mycroft6553612-01-04, 09:46 AM | Worshop a god instead of typos. |
| Board_Rider12-01-04, 12:05 PM | You would probably be better served with this in the Char. Opt. board. I really can't offer much, but what DM_Erik offered is a really good place to start. But I really don't see how you would need anything as this guy is a bit on the "too powerful" side....but hey ain't my game. Good Luck. |
| Magnus02912-01-04, 02:44 PM | First, I think Spaced is right on here, barring not going with that option, practiced specllcaster from CD is a great place to start and you coould go back and take 2 more levels of Fighter to get the maximum effect from it (+4 caster level up to HD.) I have always been a fan of finishing off your PrC, I can't stand this 1 level dip crap. So I would go back and finish off at least 1 of them. Just my opinion though. |
| ermedic12-02-04, 11:11 AM | If you haven't looked at the responses that you got from "What's a DM to Do?", please do so. This charachter is one of the most min/max'd pieces of munchkin nonsense that I've ever seen. I'm not saying this to be rude...I'm saying this so that you understand just how cheesy this character is. Please consider making a more balanced character with appropriate abilities. The stats that you have cannot be obtained while staying anywhere near the "character wealth by level" range. Just to emphasize my point, I'm giong to quote a couple of responses in the DMs forum. Your character is broken. Start over. This guy makes Elminster, Khelben & Manshoon look like rookies...HEHE.. Advice: Read the core rules again and bring this thread to your DM's attention. Perhaps he has a hard time challenging the players? (along with like 5000 other balancing-related problems..) As you can see by the posts so far, this is a pretty broken character. If your DM allows this, I truely hope that he is min/maxing the NPCs just as much to compensate. I don't know many DMs (myself included) that would go for this PC. And finally, my original rant... Who is your DM...Ray Charles? If one of my players showed me this character sheet, I'd bludgeon him repeatedly with the DMG and Player's Handbook alternately. I'm sorry if this comes across as harsh but you've got a 14th level character (18 ECL) with better stats than any epic character I've seen. If your DM allowed you to have items that gave you these stats, he needs to be pelted in the face with dice until his ears bleed. If not, than you need to reread your core rulebooks, especially the part of the DMG that deals with "character wealth by level." :ahem:  :nonono: :tantrum: :banghead: :headexplo :OMG! Once again, my intension was not to start a flamewar, I just want to see you come up with a more reasonable character. |
| webgear6812-03-04, 03:37 PM | my dm lets me play it, he knows what i have, and it was his choice to let me be a contemplative and if my dm decides to give me a improved wish (+5 wisdom) for beating a character of his that had an ecl of 30 with our 4 players of a combined ecl of roughly 15 then i ain't going to argue. as for the wealth by character it is probably like that due to current living conditions, which is similar to a half-way house, and we never know when we are going to lose a player forever suddenly! I apoligize to everyone here for this post in the wrong locations was a idiot mistake and would please appreciate it if you all would stop bashing someone you do not even know. that aside how we play our game is exactly that OUR GAME. i did not ask to have one of my only trusted freinds Bashed on! i ask for advice on improvong my character and i appreciate the advice i got thank you for your honesty |
| Board_Rider12-03-04, 03:46 PM | I don't think, but havent read all of the posts, that anyone was crushing your game...just the character. Why not just stick with one of the classes, such as Warpriest, until you hit epic level? With those stats the world is your oyster. |
| webgear6812-03-04, 03:52 PM | i am planning on staying contemplative and possibly taking 1 level herophant for either blast infedel or faith healing. as for epic level i am hoping to be able to become a death knight. and as for above some people were bashing my dm and that doesn't sit well with me. but i'll get over it. one reason for the high power game is most of the players are leaving after april and one is leaving this month. but thank you for your comment. |

First off, your right, it is your game and the DM can run it how he feels, true. Second, this is a public board and YOU came here asking for opinions in about 87 different locations. You recieved OUR opinions and now you cry because you don't like them. BOO-freaking-HOO. Sack it up and be a man(or woman). Just because not one person feels your DM is worthy of the title is no reason to get your panties in a bunch, if you enjoy the game, great. As far as the character goes, its insane. NO DM I know would allow any or all characters to get that out of hand in a real game. As far as where to go next, as I said above finish off one of the PRC's and then max out the other, of course that is my opinion, in a game I run the second PRC would not even be allowed until the first was done and there is valid reason for it. Please don't try and come back with an explanation of the character, I don't really think anyone cares anymore. |
| Mikal12-03-04, 04:09 PM | hmm... practiced spellcaster will help bump up your effective caster level, giving your spells a little more oomph. ETA: and to the OP, ignore the people who prefer to give you crap rather then advice. Some people think their way is the only 'good' way to play the game. Just give em an ol :P and enjoy your character. |
