weretouched 01-23-05, 01:32 PM	im not sure of this but all the rules i have read for the archmage dont clear this up. for its ability arcane fire how does it work, from what ive read this is how it goes. you select a 9th lvl spell slot never able to be used again, from now on you can use this ability freely...... for a minimum lvl archmage this is at least 10d6 how does this ability actually work or am i right... help :weep:
steventirey1985 01-23-05, 01:40 PM	how it works (3.5) spend a 9th level slot to gain the ability then, when ever you want to use the ability, you channel one of your prepared spells (say, a 3rd level fireball) into arcane fire. in this case it would do 4d6 damage for a min level archmage ( 1d6 for the archmage level and 3d6 for the spell level) hope this helps.
