Armor class [Archive] - Wizards Community

I have a Githzerai monk who has taken the vow of povert. I am getting armor pluses from everywhere and want to know what stacks and what doesnt. I get exalted bonus to my armor class, my dex,my wisdom, the ac bonus a monk gets at fifth level, a deflection bonus, a natural armor bonus, and the bonus from his spell like abilty called inertial armor.

09-19-05, 03:48 PM All bonuses stack so long as they are of different type. Untyped bonuses stack so long as they are from different sources.

Assuming I remember correctly how all of those work, all your bonuses should stack (Inertial Armor gives an armor bonus to AC, yes?).

09-19-05, 07:46 PM Only bonuses of different types stack. The two exceptions are unnamed bonuses and Dodge bonues. These two types of bonuses are cumulative with themselves as well as other types of bonuses.

The Exalted bonus to AC from the Vow of Poverty does not stack with any kind of armour bonus, no matter what grants it. If Inertial Armour grants an armour bonus, then this does not stack with the VoP's exalted bonus.

09-19-05, 08:38 PM All of the armor you named stacks. Though the "Inertial Armor" is an "armor bonus" so it won't stack with actual armor. Though... you are a monk, so I don't think you wear armor. So, all your bonuses stack. Not all bonuses you can get... though the ones you did name stack.

Unless any of those bonuses are "Armor" bonuses (not including Inertial Armor).
