So, a little something about myself first. I'm a Young Adult Red Dragon who is, thanks to the effect of having had a Helm of Opposite Alignment placed upon me when I was a hatchling, Chaotic Good. (I went to Lawful Good, then drifted to Neutral Good, and Chaotic Good, but stayed Good.) So... Ask away, please. It gets boring having nothing to do but count memories.

Love, in the romantic sense, is when you care enough for someone so much that being away from them hurts, that you wish to spend your existance with them, that you wish to partake in carnal pleasure with them in every concievable combination possible. Love, in the non-romantic sense, is when you care so strongly for something, be it a person, place, or ideal, that you are willing to take up arms to defend it, to enforce it's needs, and if need be, to lay your life down for it. This kind of love is also often attached to the subject of romantic life. And, as a related question, what's the deal with all the half-dragons running around? Seems like for every full dragon being born, there are a dozen half-dragons. Maybe some species need to take cold showers more often, hmmm? Maybe some species need to realize that engaging in sexual activity often and with varied partners is psychologically healthy, especially with a lifetime as long as a Dragon's. To put it simply; dragons like sex. A lot. Not anymoreso than your average elf (who, by the way, could be considered sex-fiends by the standard of the typical deprived, repressed Human), we're just a lot more fertile, as a result of our magical nature. As a consequence, it takes special, supernatural precautions to prevent a child from arising in any copulation in which a dragon (or dragoness) and other creature engage in traditional intercourse. The magibiologics out of the way, here's the lowdown: The (vast) majority of Metallic Half-Dragons you see came about as a result of a Dragoness (or a Dragon who decided a nice long Polymorph was in order) engaged in sexual intercourse with a male or otherwise impregnation-capable member of a humanoid species. Good dragons (including the vast, vast majority of Metallics, and myself, of course,) generally do not wish to burden a casual lover; we have no compunctions, however, about having unprotected sex to become pregnant ourselves. Chromatics, on the other hand, generally are the result of rape by a Dragon or Dragoness polymorphed into a male form - whether with a humanoid or otherwise, it's usually the result of rape. Excluding myself, obviously. Also, you must consider the relative ease with which a half-dragon may be made versus a full Dragon. For a full Dragon to be hatched, a male and female dragon must agree to mate; or else one partner must be sufficiently powerful to force themselves upon the other one, and (if the female was the forced member) imprison the female until she lays her clutch. (At which time you generally must snatch them almost from her ovipositor, lest she crush them to spite her captor.) While it is true that Dragons tend to lay in clutches of up to twelve, bear in mind that coming to the point where one may lay is a long process - consuming up to two years of the dragons' lives - and providing for them to survive until hatching is further a long process, taking many more years. And then, of course, you have to consider the trouble keeping a newly-hatched dragon out of trouble is. Dragons, even hatchlings, are phenominally arrogant - rightly so, once we've grown up a bit. However, a Hatchling has all the arrogance of it's parent, but little of it's ability. It's a chore for a Good Dragon to keep it's hatchlings out of trouble; it's even harder for a Chromatic dragon to resist the temptation to simply murder his or her brood because they annoy them. And, of course, there's the fact that you humanoids have the utterly revolting habits of slaying us to use our bodies are sources of resource for such things as alchemical components or dragon-scale armor. Utterly disgusting! You don't see me flying around with a Humanskin mantle, or sacrificing virgins to power spells, do you? (Okay, some Chromatics might do the latter, but all but the vilest of Whites woulden't consider the former.) So, the Dragon population is generally small. Also worth noting is that even the Good amongst us are generally isolationist, most of us taking the company of only one mate, and any younglings we happen to be rearing. Whereas making Half-Dragons is the relatively simple affair of impregnating everything female you can lay your hands on. Any more questions?

Ever since I became addicted to the human-grown substance known as "coffee", I haven't gotten any. I cast my magic in no set order, thank you very much. No, I haven't. When I want that kind of work done, I use magic, thank you. Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. It's called "party of Paladins and Clerics ressurects me and together we seek out the people who snuffed me for some rightious smiting." Well, I'd really have to say I'm weak for coffee. Do you like chess? It's an okay game, but it gets boring... Frankly, the lack of fun units annoys me, and the archeotypical paternalistic monarchy promoted by the names of the pieces dosen't sit well with me. That said, I do enjoy a good match of wills every now and then. Why do Dragons like hoarding treasure so much? Ah! The question I was wondering if anyone was going to ask. Bear with me, this may take awhile. Dragons collect memories. Whether it's a blessing or a curse, we cannot forget anything. And we like to collect mementos. It's really not monetary value a Dragon is after in his hoard (and any Dragon who tells you otherwise is a damn dirty liar; however, the oft-quoted ax that a Dragon knows the value of his hoard down to the last copper pieces' worth is in fact true). For example, take this gem. To you, or another loot-minded adventurer, it's just a set of +5 Full Plate. If you don't want to wear it yourself, you want to hawk it for a huge sum of change. This, frankly, is an infuriating situation. You'd be quite literally stealing my memory; in this case, the memory of the time when a Blackguard came looking to loot, rape and plunder in a town I was passing through, and I grabbed him in my claws, flew up to about four thousand feet, and dived him headfirst into the ground. (A quick Mending fixed the damage to the armor.) Humans collect mementos of people; locks of hair, cameo broaches, etcetera. The reigning hypothesis for this phenomena is that Humans have perpetually awful memory, and can't remember how they came by most of their possessions unless it's an emotionally-charged, intimate item. Not that Dragons don't collect such memorabellia; we just can attach a memory to anything we own, anytime, anywhere. You can literally pick any random item from a Dragon's stash, ask him how and where he got it, and he can weave you at least an hour's story of how he came about owning it. As for gold, other coins and gems, frankly, who dosen't like having a huge pile of cash on hand? Plus, it's the only proper material for bedding I've ever found - scales are rough on your sense of touch. Therefore, sleeping on a bed literally made of gold and gems is the only way to get a pleasent, "supported" sensation. You, after all, can simply buy a down-stuffed mattress; unless I wished to sleep perpetually in human form, I have no such luxury. Have you ever thought about capturing a princess? This is racist. First off, that would be kidnapping, and if you re-read my opening statement, I am Good, not Evil. Second off, why in the world or out of the world would anyone want to kidnap a princess? It has been my experiance that the only ones left around to kidnap are the insufferable ones; more often than not, the security around these brats just screams "kidnap me and keep the change". Furthermore, what in the nine Hells are you going to do with a princess once you've captured her? Put her to work as a maidservant? You could just hire one for a petty pittance from your horde per day, and you'd get someone competent to fill the post. Rape her? I suppose some twisted Chromatics might get off at tweaking their noses at humanoid kingdoms like that - I like to shred those kinds of Dragons to ribbons. Eat her? It's an unfortunate 'fact' that Red Dragons (like myself), seem to have a natural predisposition to the flesh of virgin female humanoids. Frankly, I think that's bollocks. Not that I'm not partial to the flesh of virgin female humanoids, but I prefer decidedly more pleasent activities than a quick snap, snap, gulp. How about a Prince? Heh. You are very funny. Most princes tend to be trained to be warriors, and as such prove to be unsuitable candidates to kidnapping, what with trying to kill you on any opportunity. The ones who aren't might as well be princesses in all but genetalia. And again; why in the world would I want to kidnap someone? How many Dragonslayers have you fought off? Oh, lots. Some idiot hears wind of a "Big, Bad Red Dragon", and comes charging up with a noble steed and a lance thinking he's going to miraculously fell a Dragon in a single blow. You might as well tilt at a windmill or cliff wall. Or do you mean "Professional Dragon-Slayers?" As in, the ones that have some notches on their dragonhide belts? Well, to be perfectly frank, I deal with them as any smart person would - I Teleport to the dwelling of aforementioned Paladins at first sight of said Dragonslayer, and return with several Paladins and Clerics. I'm not stupid. Professionals are professionals for a reason. I deal with them by summoning overwhelming firepower.

Imagine being trapped in an egg, unable to break free, while the sounds of battle rage about you; the roars and the gouts of flame and the muttering of incantations arcane and the flash of swords. Then I hatched - I didn't want to, but it was time, and my egg burst. I really am thankful, to be honest, that they chose to clap a Helmet on me rather than put me to the sword. I keep several such helmets in the event I need to perform an emergency reformation of an Evil twit, in fact. Have you ever had any big disagreements with your Paladins? I assume that because you are of the chaotic persuasion it would be inevitable. Oh, definately. They get really rather irked at how I comport myself during nightlife - I get irked that they can't see how much sheer fun it is to be such a pleasure to the ladies around. (They really got upset when I managed to attract the female Paladin of the group into my bed when all of them had failed to do so for six years). Also, I and the law don't see eye-to-eye. Obviously, my eyes are much higher than the Law's eyes, and I can see much further. I don't really respect the laws of humanoids - I obey the vast majority of them simply because humans (and Dwarves) have the uncanny need to codify rules for behaving as laws. Things such as "don't steal, don't murder, don't rape", etcetera. I simply behave as I behave, and get along well. But then you get the more esoteric laws. Such as those against adultery. What a crock! Even mates rarely remain together for their whole lives; and often they engage in lots and lots of sex outside their mate - perfectly normal, natural. And could I help it that she was practically quivering with desire that her husband coulden't or woulden't fulfil? Yes, I damned well could have helped, and I damned well did. Then he got upset and challenged me to a duel. I told him to buzz off, and he tried to get the magistrates to have me hung. That was messy - in the end, I had to resort to "who of you feels tough enough to hang a Dragon?", and I spirited the woman off to somewhere she could be more appreciated. After staying a few weeks with me ( :tie: ), she eventually opted to settle with a faraway group of Elves I knew - as far as I know, she's still a valued and much-appreciated member of their community. What Gods do your clerics worship? There's a fair cross-section, to be honest. Of course, you've got a few of the typical Lawful Good style of crusader God - Heironious - and some steryotypical healing batteries - Pelor -, but I also know some rather nice Clerics of Sharess ( :tie: ) and Sune. What's your favorite item in your hoard? Now.... That... That is a hard question. From a practical standpoint, I'd have to say it's my Amulet of Protection from Cold. Unlike most of the items I have, this one has no great history; I comissioned a Wizard to make it for me, and cover my well-known, color-related weakness. (More than a few would-be Dragonslayers have come at me thinking that they could pop off a few Cones of Cold and miraculously take me down.) From a sentimental standpoint, it would definately be the lock of hair encased in a honkin' huge crystal. It came from an elf maiden I once had occasion to travel with for a journey. She was such a sweet girl, very tender. She didn't realize I was male, actually. I tend to be soft-spoken for a Dragon, and my dulcet rumble makes everyone who dosen't know me think I'm female. I played it up for her, taking the form of another elf maid for her - we spent a number of long, happy nights together. I coulden't break her heart, and she gave me the lock when we had to part ways. From the standpoint of "This was the most exciting thing I did", probably the spellbook which belonged to a Red Wizard - I tell you, that was insanity. Imagine four Red Wizards and their attendant Knights show up on your doorstep with intent to enslave or destroy you and steal your hoard for yourself. Worse, they have a teleport-blocking field up! That was crazy. Fortunately, I'd had a rod of Wonder handy, and snapped it - created a temporary Wild Magic Zone in my lair. With their spells misfiring, I just jumped the dumb twits with claws and teeth. Turns out a Red Knight is no real match for a Red Dragon in melee, let alone one who's tearing their Wizard to shreds. Wound up dismembering about half of them, and knocked the rest out for the Helmet treatment... That was a fun day.

Good friend, though has the occasional bout of insanity; has her own little hoard, flings spells like there's no tomarrow, good pair of horns, eye that glows, and oddly enough seems to like me (a lot) in return. However she's lately told me that she's been having trouble dragging her hoard around and wants a place to call a kip of her own. I immediately, what can I say I'm a nice berk, offered her my place but she said she didn't want to accidentally burn it down in her sleep. I think I know of a nearby mountain that might be suitable, but currently there's a dwarven mining operation going on and they've been rather jumpy as of late. I really don't want to see her dead from some confrontation against an adventurer party hired by disgruntled dwarves, I don't want to see her practically jump plane for a place to call kip, and I'm not sure how to go about asking a dragoness witch (she acts enough like a dragon a few mistook her for a full-blooded one) to be my mate. Do you have any advice on this somewhat tangled matter?

See, I'm guessing you're fairly well loaded, as you seem to be an adventurer of not-modest means. Enchanting things, even large things like structures, to be fireproof, is not that expensive, especially if you decide to spend some time building up political connections. ((OOC: Take the Landlord feat.)) That solves your fireproof problem, and convienantly prevents any Dwarf-related entanglements. As for asking her to be your mate, well... Honestly, all bets are off. If she's as hot-tempered as you say she is, though, I woulden't try to codify it by proposing marriage or anything in that vein. That kind of thing gets dull and stuffy. Just seduce her, and keep seducing her, (or get seduced by her, if she makes the first move), until you wake up one day and realize that the two of you are a 'thing'. Your relationship is going to be stormy, I can tell you that off the bat, if she's hot-blooded like that. You might as well go toss yourself into a gale-force storm at sea, it'll be something like that. Expect tempestous arguments, physical violence, probably magical violence. Don't shy away - that's how you turn her off. Hot-tempered Reds want the fight, they want the scratching, clawing, pounding, blasting, followed by exhaustive sex. You'll just have to live with it if you love her - and don't buy anything breakable that's expensive. Just match her temper and her desires, and she'll want to stay because you fill her needs, psychologically, sexually and emotionally. Just be prepared for the stress and the headaches it can cause. Oh, and one more word of warning; don't enter into this kind of relationship if you're the jealous type. Reds are naturally promiscious, and if you show that it gets to you, she'll use sex as a weapon - which will eventually defeat the purpose of being together, since sex is supposed to be the peace treaty. If you can't stand the fact that she'll probably literally grab any guy or girl that catches her eye, don't even try; you'll only get heartbroken. On the other hand, if you've a more adventerous disposition in bed, it could turn out to be one of your greatest assets - sharing lovers, then each other.

If they do, what is the typical attitude towards stuck treasure? How do most Metallic Dragons view you? What is your opinion on the lesser known dragons? (Gem dragons, shadow, force, etc.) Is 'Gra Chor Kahsk' Really draconic for 'Your mother was a kitten!', or did that kobold just really want to skewer me? On that note, what is your opinion of Kobolds?

It's solved a few problems before :D We've gotten into fights before as kids and its carried on up to now, though the normal peace treaty of stealing cake from the local baker has become stealing rubies along with the cake. Well thank you again! Though one last question. Do dragons like three-headed guard hounds for pets? I know where to get one and I'm thinking of getting for the lady in my eye and I think she may appreciate something protecting her hoard with puppy-love and devotion.

I never got to see him as a group of very powerful adventures attacked and managed to kill him when I was just 2 years old. Seeing as you’re also a good red dragon, do you know anything about Vorel also known as the Red Dragon of Valshta Mountain? Any information would be appreciated, as the manuscripts only tell of his good deeds but nothing about his personality. Is it true that his soul has been bonded to a gem to prevent any sort of resurrection?

Random fact of the day: there's evidence to suggest that a cold shower has the opposite of the intended effect. How true is it that dragons view humanoids as inferior? Are half dragons any better? What about immortal/nearly immortal races, such as elves and elans? How do dragons typically view a dragon killed by a group of adventurers? Has there ever been a dragon killed by adventurers that wasn't a fool?

You will never know the sheer joy of swooping down over a gnomish caravan and exploding them into little bits. Anyways, I was hoping for some advice. See, I really need to get some new friends. I hang out in an assassin's guild with an Orc by the name of 'Ozzy the Gnome Eater'. Quite charming, but not an especially cultured fellow. Then theres that pale, cloaked personage who always chooses the dark corner. Havent' caught his name yet, but I suspect he'd kill me for money if given the chance. What sort of peoples should a young dragon mingle with? On a lighter note, what is an appropriate amount of bling for a male dragon to wear in public? People have suggested that my jewelry is "excessive" or "in poor taste". Naturally, these people have now died for their insolence. And lastly, I'm being tracked by a certain "Prince Ricardo" who seems to be under the insane delusion that I have kidnapped and eaten his sister, which I most certianly have not. Ozzy ate her. I was just holding her for ransom, and this is all just a terrible misunderstanding.

How do most Metallic Dragons view you? Fear and suspicion, usually, but the fact that when I roll I tend to roll with Paladins usually lets them get close enough to ascertain that I'm no threat. In fact, one of my closest companions and mates is a Silver Dragoness, ironically enough. What is your opinion on the lesser known dragons? (Gem dragons, shadow, force, etc.) Extraplanar plane-trash and Underdarkian wannabes, the lot. Frankly, they're an embaressment to the rest of Dragonkind, as if five Chromatic and five Metallic shades of Dragon wasen't enough to strike awe and fear into the hearts of mortals. As if every two-bit in charge of a Plane decided that the original ten weren't good enough for him, and decided to cobble together his own. Prejudice aside, you will come across occasional specimens which are remarkable as individuals and thus worthy of a revised opinion. While I'm afraid to say that neither I, nor any of my spiritual companions have heard of an Ancient Good Red named Vorel, my arcane research (yes, I am a Wizard,) reveals to me two potential ways to entrap someone in a gemstone. The first is a spell known as Trap the Soul, available only to Wizards and Sorcerers, which may force the soul, material body and all, of an unwilling subject into a gemstone. While at first I am inclined to think this spell is the unliklier candidate, given Dragons' massive resistance to magic and our phenominal willpower, further research indicates that if these "adventurers" (Villians, more likely) knew your father's True Name, they could have ignored his Spell Resistance entirely, and given him a more difficult time saving himself from it's effects. While it's still a long shot, with a little preperation and luck, this could well be the case. The other way to do this is via a spell known as Soul Bind, which is available to Wizards, Sorcerers, and Clerics. This allows the soul of a creature slain recently in combat to be forced into a gemstone - a Black Onyx - from whence it may not be ressurected, not even by means of a Wish spell. However, there is yet hope. In either event - Trap the Soul or Soul Binding, you need an extremely expensive gemstone to act as a material focus - in this case, the very minimum would have been 37,000 gold pieces. That's a pretty hefty rock, and probably means it's rare. Which means legends about it will have proliferated; consult a Bard. The good news is that in either case, finding and destroying the gem will free the occupant; if forced into a Soul Trap, the subject will emerge as they were. I the soul has been Bound, you will still need to provide for it's ressurection. For further help in locating the gem, you could attempt a Scrying or Greater Scrying. While this is iffy - I cannot without expensive experimentation and facilities beyond my own determine for certain whether or not a soul bound within a gem would still qualify as a creature - it could work. You, yourself, would provide a hefty bonus to the spell, being Vorel's daughter. Finally, if the above is frustrating you, locate a Scroll of Wish. Just don't word it poetically and you should be fine. (You'll probably have better results Wishing to know the exact location of the gem than wishing to have the Gem, but it might work to flat-out wish you had the Gem itself.) I wish you luck, Akisa. how you get so big? By being born as a Dragon and living a long time. can thubby get that big? With the right magics, it's certainly possible. can thubby have a cookie? Certainly. Here you are: :cookie: can thubby get a hug? I don't see why not. *hug* Random fact of the day: there's evidence to suggest that a cold shower has the opposite of the intended effect. Oh, definately. Taking a plunge in an ice-cold river or bay only gets me ready to couple... Of course, the fact that it might be aproximately the same temperature as my most steady 'mate's insides might have something to do with that. How true is it that dragons view humanoids as inferior? Well, to be perfectly frank, it's very true. As an agregate whole, you're soft, squishy, and entirely unfit to survive in a world filled with monsters such as trolls and, well, Dragons. Then there's Heros. The exception the rule.... It's not that I don't like Humanoids - I do. It's just that as a whole, without powerful champions to protect your species, you would have died off by now. It tends to make Dragons arrogant towards most humanoids, and frankly more than a little annoyed that you prosper - nay, flourish - despite these obvious handicaps. Are half dragons any better? Oh, certainly, certainly. After all, they came from us... But don't mention "Kobold", or we'll go on a rampage.... Hey, everybody makes a mistake now and then. What about immortal/nearly immortal races, such as elves and elans? They're a lot better, really - their long lifespans ensure that we won't find our companions wasting away while we only continue to get stronger. Plus, elven women are some of the kinkiest around. How do dragons typically view a dragon killed by a group of adventurers? Anger, usually. The fact is that it's humbling and not a little humulating to realize that for all your power over the vast, vast majority of the species, a well-tuned group of adventurers can cut you down in your prime. Has there ever been a dragon killed by adventurers that wasn't a fool? In truth, the only Dragons that are fools are Whites. The simple fact is that Adventurers are exceptional beings - extremely exceptional beings. While alone, an Adventurer poses none too great a challenge for a Dragon, a finly-tuned team can bring even the mightiest of us low. That's why I summon help before attempting to deal with the real Dragonslayers. The only things you should bother wearing are magical items. And lastly, I'm being tracked by a certain "Prince Ricardo" who seems to be under the insane delusion that I have kidnapped and eaten his sister, which I most certianly have not. Ozzy ate her. Well, to be perfectly frank, we find ourselves in the situation that Elves were in not too long (in geologic terms): As we become more popular, it seems there's more and more of us, then next thing you know, there's subtypes and alternatives cropping up so damned fast that you can't keep up. Elves used to be the power, you know. Humans looked up to them with reverence and awe, Dwarves grudingly respected their martial skills, and they slaughtered ten thousand orcs for every one of their own who fell in battle. Then they started to get more and more popular, and along came the Drow. And all was good, relatively speaking; turns out that there was, in fact, room for two Elf species. And now look at the situation. You have High Elves, Wood Elves, Normal Elves, Dark Elves, Sun Elves.... The list goes on and on and on. It's diluted their respect, it has. How am I, as a Chromatic Dragon of the Red Persuasion, supposed to command the presense that is rightfully mine, when I'm being crowded out by forty other types of "true" Dragons. There are only ten True Dragons - Five Chromatic, Five Metallic. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a damn dirty liar. And everything else is an imitation. As far as the Dragon pantheon, I don't pay any attention to it. Any Dragon of sufficient age and with sufficient wealth can ascend to Godhood. The only two worth looking out for are Tiamat and Bahamut. The rest kind of float there, much like non Corellon, Non Lloth Elvish dieties. (Although it is worth noting that I've been tracking a huge upswing in the worship of Eilistraee... Intriguing.) Planar dragons are at least true dragons - are lesser dragons even worse? Fine, the straight answer. A very, very long time ago, some wag got the idea of cross-breeding Dragon types. It worked well for awhile, then the generations got closer and closer to being equal parts of all kinds of Dragons. Eventually, the Gods themselves feared this expeirment and it's outcome. So tey added one more gene seed into the mix - dumb lizards. Kobolds have been the result ever since, and it's why dragon colors are so hesitant to crossbreed. We certainly aren't shy about sex - just reproducing. Now, enough about those annoying little yapping pests! 3. To be quite frank, it's a bit disturbing; I cannot imagine living so long without such pleasures as the carnal company of another. I must confess my wonderment at what animates Warforged, what is it that gives them the real spark of life that, say, an Iron Golem lacks.

If you just want to have sex with her because you're enthralled with the idea of having sex with a bona fide Dragoness, just find out what her humanoid form (most of us stick with only one for most purposes) looks like, and wait for the next time she's in town. Then send the usual signals for someone looking for a sexual encounter - if she's interested, she'll take you up on it. If she's not, she'll probably keep you in mind for a later date. If you want something more, do as above, but tell her that you know what she is - and then present her with a gift. Anything permenant will suffice, though the more expensive, the more it may catch her eye. (Are human women any different?) If she's interested, she'll take you. Well, to start with, the first thing you'll want to do is ground a Dragon - Walls of Force, cast in the path of his flight, are absoloutely perfect for this. Imagine diving headfirst at the ground - that's about what it feels like. Eventually, he'll either get tired of braining himself on mid-air, or he'll kill himself for you. Assuming he gets the hint and lands, hit him with a spell that prevents him from taking off again! Once that's done, of course, the best place to be is actually in the air, above him, with spellslingers and archers all flying. Just make sure he's not one of the kind that can burrow! In any event, slaying a Dragon is a monumental task, but with teamwork it goes off perfectly. You'll need the following: One dedicated spellcaster with a lot of Dispel Magics and focused on counterspelling anything the Dragon in question tries to cast. One dedicated spellcaster with a lot of Force Wall prepared - and plenty of extra scrolls, too. One dedicated spellcaster dedicated to save-or-suck and save-or-die spells, who has a strong focus on overcoming Spell Resistance. Eventually something will get through. Hmm, these questions have perked my curiousity, oh great dragon. The question I am about to ask is similiar to questions asked previously, but since I am curious, I will ask anyway... What do you think of the two types of dragons that are so powerful compared to normal dragons, that even when just born, they are as powerful as some ancients of other True Dragons? Of course, I speak of the Force and Prismatic dragons, and, quite frankly, I'm not even sure if they are true dragons, or what they are, but their power is definately true. What is your opinion on them? Bah! Planar rubbish, the lot of them. Frankly, they're as if some Deity looked upon Dragons, saw that we were Good, and decided to "trump" the original. Frankly, it makes me angry. Nothing should strike more fear into the hearts of the Good than the words "Great Wyrm Red Dragon". Not demon princes, not these posers. They often battle each other as if I’m interested in their display of combat prowess and I believe the Brass dragon is just there just to create an obstacle to prevent other two from mating with me. My animal companion and I grow tired wandering the land trying to loose the trio, and sometimes their destruction falls onto the forests. I’ve tried changing my appearance to look like someone else, and tried transforming into various animals both tiny and huge and not transforming into small or huge elemental is enough to fool them. Is there any way to repel their attraction towards me? I’m just a simple druid wishing for a simple life and I did not ask for this.

But they're also extremely clever, double-talking gits. They love nothing more than to play a long and convoluted scam on someone of lesser status than they. Even when they tell the truth or keep their ends of a bargain, they're always, and I do mean always, going to come out on top. Firstly, it should be almost impossible, due to the elemental nature of Dragon's blood - if you tried to take a Red Dragon's blood into yourself, for example, you'd burn up from the inside, unless you were magically immune to Fire damage. That said, if you were so immunized, it could quite possibly work. However, I'd put my bet on the ancestry. Last of all, any good advise on getting the humble (though beloved) hoard back I lost to the evil whim of an old Green? I already considered court him so I could be near my hoard, but I am affraid he'll slay me as soon as he lost his interest. Fighting it is almost certainly futile; your only real hope would be to never return to your homeworld. As for people of Undetectable alignment, I garuntee they're Evil. The Good having nothing to hide, you see. As for the problem of the three Dragoness' battling over the opportunity to mate with you - where can I get your problems? I should be so lucky. Seriously, if you want to end this, you're going to have to take a stand. Either stand with the Brass and get rid of the Black and the unknown (you didn't specify her colour), or turn into a foe of all things and stand with the Black. Or stay in this world. No, I don't currently raise any of my offspring, though I make sure they are well cared for. And taught the ways of Good. And I woulden't use my own children for an army. That's despicable! We carry a lot of Bags of Holding. Do you fight other dragons alot? If so, any tips on dragon vs. dragon combat? I have, occasionaly. The first thing you need is to cover up your elemental weakness; preferably with a magic item of immunity. If the wyrm you plan to end is aware of this fact beforehand, he's probably already protected himself from your breath weapon - learn Metabreath Substitution. Protect yourself from his breath weapon, and then get some good energy resistance to all energy types, because you can bet your tail he's got protection from your breath weapon. Ironically, the best way to deal with a fellow Dragon is the same methods the humans use best - use scrolls, wands, or whatever, to throw Walls of Force into his flight path. Then get as close to him as you can and tear him apart with claws and jaws. I'm from Sigil and she creeps me out! And every other resident at that. Why study there? Why live there, then? Call me crazy, but I don't fancy institutions where the administratum staff are Lawful Evil Outsiders. Because the cost of a good, proper door to hold out a siege would run well into tens of thousands of pieces of gold, probably about 50,000. The price of an Adamantium Greataxe is roughly 3,500 GP. And it's very, VERY well connected. And it's also a neutral ground where high-up bashers like balors and pit-fiends wouldn't start up a fight on sight lest they draw Her Serenity's attention. Did I mention it's well connected? It's a blessing for any trader who wants to make a pile of jink. Or for anyone who wants some extra money! It has a brisque trade in information as well! In some parts of the city, I wouldn't visit unless I was geared out for a full-on fight. In other parts I'd be comfortable showing a child around. It's a place of wonder as well as danger. And it's also a refuge for some folks who got no place to go anymore. Take me mother for example. An elven woman with a newborn kid and a homeworld that was writ to the dead-book courtesy of the Ethergaunts. Not exactly a happy thing mind you. But she found Sigil and decided to set up shop and did relatively well for herself. Along the way she adopted a tiefling daughter as well! We lived right next door to an exiled modron to whom I ended up being an apprentice of. All in all, my life in Sigil wasn't bad at all. Mind you it was dangerous at times, but nothing unlike living in any other huge city. I'd like to think of myself as a well-adjusted individual because of my experiences in the Cage.

Monogamy is an alien practice to them, so it's okay if you sleep with someone who's married, or hand-fasted. Firstly, I own quite a few chicken farms. Secondly, Dragons are not carnivores. That's just because most Chromatics prefer to eat such diets; we're True Omnivores. I can literally eat rocks and dirt and it will not only keep me alive, it'll keep me functioning at normal levels. I was wondering does your gold pile get cold at night and wanted a companion to keep you company. Yes, it does, and yes, I do. One can never have enough company. :)

There's useful spells in the school of Necromancy, but actually following Necromancy as a goal? No no no... Everyone I meet is expecting me to follow my father's career into lichdom, but I find myself much more suited to the role of a Loremaster. Follow your own dreams. The world needs more Loremasters than Liches, anyway. Don't feel obligated to follow the path of your parents; have you not heard the story of the Greenhilt clan? Liches care about three things: 1) Advancing into Demilichdom. 2) Learning everything there is to learn. 3) Conquering and/or destroying the world. Usually in that order. You ceased to be something important to him, and became something he could manipulate a little easier than the rest of the mortals, the moment he became a Lich. Don't forget that; and stock up on a Ring of Death Ward. And while on the subject of Necromancy, what is your opinion on Dracoliches? I'm just glad that Dracoliches can't become Demiliches. (I hope). They're like a Lich to the nth degree already. They need to be destroyed at all costs; I've participated in the destruction of one. Fortunately, the "ascendance" of a Dracolich is one of the few things that can galvanize solitary creatures like Dragons into group action; four Metallics and myself hunted the monster down and tore it apart. I had the most protections from death magic, so they gave me the "honor" or getting up close and personal with him, while they focused on dispelling whatever it was he was doing and stopping his minions. Freakin' huge bugger, I'll tell you that - he was a Red, too. Fortunately, I got on top o' his back and performed and impromptu spine-ectomy... Bag o' bones fell apart and we crushed his skull. That depends. There are days, weeks, months, when I just want to be left alone, that I go back to my lair. For one thing, I am an adventurer, of sorts. Usually, adventurers who meet me either try to kill me (if they're strong), or run from me (if they're weak). I obviously run away from the ones who try to kill me; and return with a load of Paladins to "straighten out" the confusion. By which I mean, explain that yes, I am a Good dragon; now put my things back where they were before you get hauled in for thievery, if the adventurers were Good, or to smash and smash some more if they're Evil.

I can count the number of birds in a tree from two thousand feet up, and tell you how many are of which species. Manipulating most hard objects in rough ways isen't a problem - claws can be surprisingly delicate. I can pick up and move a candle, for example. Pages from paper books, however, I use either Prestidigitation to move, or I take human form. Coins and jewelery aren't hard to move - claws are surprisingly dextrous. You just have to get them one at a time, though. And pretty much every Dragon I know - every spellcaster, for that matter - knows Presti.

Take a spin in a Red Dragon's stomach. We don't digest using the... Crude biological processes you poor creatures are left with. In fact, the very nature of excrement is that it is made up of that matter your bodies cannot convert to energy. Now you see why we Dragons are so strong, don't you? We literally convert everything we eat to fuel ourselves. This is also why we don't have to strip entire landmasses bare of life. And so, if someone offers to sell you "dragon manure", you should promptly smack him upside the head with your staff.

A half-gold dragon troll associate of mine is considering going into business making and selling dragonic grafts and asked me what the possible profit for grafts is. I have no idea since while I know grafts my specialty are undead grafts. So I have five questions about this 1. Why would a half dragon want to make dragonic grafts? 2. Do you think he plans on using his own flesh since he can regenerate? 3. Should I warn his dragon parent? 4. Should I warn his potential cusomers? 5. How profitable would a business be for a troll? Now then I have one more question My father is having me look over the job resumes for his business for what he believes to be a semi important position and wants me to recommend one of them. He have two applicants so far but I am having trouble deciding. As a dragon what do you think the better choice would be for a library security gaurd, a slightly smarter than average wyvern or an unnaturally large pseudodragon?

That honestly depends on many factors, such as what kind of place it's in. A wyvern would be unpopular on most material planes; on sigil, it might not raise an eyelash. If you don't expect the guard to have to employ deadly force or to face deadly force, the Psudodragon. The best guard is the one that's both unseen and can communicate with nearby people telepathically. If you do expect the guard to face deadly force and have to employ it, the Wyvern. Detect alignment is a 2nd-circle catch-all that incorporates all of the first-circle Detections, as well as detecting Neutrality; if this puppy dosen't show you an alignment, he's got a blocker up. I also took the time to flesh out a Detect (Insert Species Here) spell. Pick a Type and you can detect it. Several Questions: 1) How can you reconcile using the helm of opposite alignment as a brainwashing tool and being good-aligned? The one thing people do not understand is that no Freedom is absoloute; no Right is garunteed to take precedence above all. Do we not remove the freedom of a petty thug to move about town and commit injury to others? Of course we do! Do we not remove the freedom of dangerous insurgents who incite riot to speak their minds? Of course we do! Do we not remove the freedom of life from maniacal persons? Of course we do! Why should the freedom to choose to be Evil any different? It is, after all, what we are attempting to do by removing those other freedoms; to punish them, to force them to comply with our way of thinking, and to destroy them if they will not. It is both more humane and vastly more efficient to use the Helm of Opposite Alignment. A Helm can be used any number of times on a single person until it has worked, after all; and once it has worked, that helm may never work on that person ever again. But it may work on any other. So for four thousand gold pieces, you can all but eliminate the need to maintain prisons. Not only that, but the now-Good person will justifiably feel guilt for his crimes, and will work to atone for them; actively benefiting society. It may seem offensive on a level; perhaps it is. But things that are offensive are not always Evil; by definition, this act is Good! It not only removes Evil from the world, but it adds Goodness to it! It may seem crass to remove the choice to reform, but consider this; if you could tell a person, "You need to reform; it's going to be a long and hard process, and it's going to be awful every step of the way", woulden't you rather tell him this: "If you want to reform, we can help you; put on this helmet, and it'll all be better." Obviously, to do it this way first would be preferable. And for dealing with petty crooks and such, it usually works. But against dangerous, powerful entities? No, no, no. You can ask, but you're just as likely to get cursed at. What do you do? Kill them in battle? Maybe. But say you wind up capturing them. Can you callously end their lives to prevent the danger they pose? Does everyone have the fees to have an expensive extraplanar holding facility incarcerate them? No. But you can not only solve the problem, but creating an ongoing problem soloution, in the form of a formerly-twisted Adventurer who now shares your own morality. And, I'll be perfectly frank here, there's no small element of self-interest involved. It may not be pollitically correct, but I cannot bear to see a female slain. It makes me rage. That's why I place so much weight behind this tactic that a Paladin decided to use on a hatching dragon because they were badly injured from the fight and didn't know if he could win. So, I prefer this. I can take the wicked and send them away good. It's better than bringing about their end; and if they do Good deeds, they may save their souls when their ends do come about. 2) Do you think Tiamat and Bahamut could ever come to an understanding and end this silly little feud of theirs? Otherwise you'll wind up with someone who's Good, but still shows up as Evil, and can be affected by things that manipulate Evil - such as Smite Evil. It'll do in a pinch, but the preferred method for converting things like Outsiders or other such creatures is a powerful spell called Sanctify the Wicked, which I suspect they're using. Evil DM Mk3 04-23-07, 09:23 AM	I am aproaching you on this one to get an alternative point of view. It is one of the most tricky situations I have been in for a while. I am currently in a large city ruled by a tyrant. But it is not as simple as it first apears. The leader is famously a trained assassin, they even have a legal guild for that here, along with theives, prostitution and almost every trade you could think of, right down to beggers who are, by virtue of the fact they never spend money on anything, the richest. The city was once ruled by a royal family that became inbread and dangerous and was ended in the reight of one particulary foul monarch known as "the kind". He was especially "fond of children"... Since then it has been ruled by elected lifetime leaders with supreme authority. Most of them failed uttery to keep the city working properly and fell into paranoia. The current ruler is draconian (pardon the phrase) and dictatoial. Among his more worring observations are "that the most fundemantal freedom is the freedom to acept the consiquences" "people do not truly desire freedom, they desire order" and "freedom without limits is anarchy, freedom within strictly enforced limits is socitey". He cheerfuly (no that is wrong, the man almost never seems to display emotion) refers to himslef as a tyrant. The problem is that the city also works. It was he who made most of the "less reputable" profeshions legal (athough assassiantion, carried out under VERY lawful systems of honour and rules had been a legal guild for some time). The city is now a multi-cultural metropolis with booming trade and an increaseing quality of life. Crime is low mostly becasue theft is legal to a point, with recepts and registered taxation. The city has gone from a place where being mugged is no longer a certainty and if it does occur it happens no more than a certain number of times a year and come with a receipt. It is all made more difficult by the presance of a true heir to the throne, most deffinatly Lawful good with a level of wisdom and compasion that would make him an exelent ruler. He doesn't want the job. He is content as a guardsman. All in all I am persuaded to leave the city alone and move on but I would value your opinion. Oh and there is every chance that the cult I am tracing may ahve the red dragon orb. Obviously this puts me in a difficult possition seing as even picking the thing up will suposedly make all dragons hate me for all time, but I cna't leave it lieing around can I?

They gave him free reign to hire anyone to do the job. He hired me, a thief, a Blood War veteran, and a fallen angel. Ok, so the fallen angel was seeking redemption (her crime involved having a child the higher ups regarded as an abomination). But the Holy Avenger we were trying to retrieve (Harmonium needed it) accepted the paladin. In fact, his severed arm was still holding it. He remains trusted and respected by Harmonium. His overall actions speak of a paladin leaning towards gray guard. I did end up saving the cleric. Though the fact that I was trying to rescue her scared her more than the actual impending death. She chose to knock herself out. When she found out I did save her, she said it made up for all the problems I've caused. But it was quickly cancelled out by accidentally provoking Hell again. That's sorta why I've come to expect this. I'm a well-intentioned fool. Worse, a fool with a knack for accidentally provoking very powerful beings. Not all my friends celebrate my apparent death. Or push through portals to test if it's safe. The better ones tolerate me with no problem. They just warn me that if I speak during diplomatic negotiations, or attack first, they will kill me. Or hand me over to whatever archdevil I provoked. Anyway, more questions: How do you feel about dragon shamans and dragonfire adepts? I personally imagine the first as popular among dragons, the second as just pushing it. One last thing regarding gem dragons. I know you say they are not true dragons, merely posers. How would you respond to their claim that their creator deity, Sardior, is one of the draconic gods? Personally I think some god crafted a dragon-shaped ruby golem, and it ended up possessing divine power. If he truly isn't a draconic deity. What do you have to say to these gem dragons? Advice for their broken family (one of the six betrayed Sardior. You certainly don't see a Zinc Dragon opposed to the other metallics, or an Indigo Dragon opposed to the chromatics)? Hopefully from here on you won't have to deal with more people desiring to hear some new version of "there are only ten true dragons. The rest are posers." Have you ever encountered any strange dragons? I've heard of ones without a frightful presence. Speaking of which, what does it feel like to have a frightful presence? How do you lower your frightful presence? How useful do you think it is? Do you create any magic items or constructs? I've heard of one strange dragon whose hoard consisted mostly of constructs. He maintained a coliseum to watch them battle. Sometimes he'd charge admissions (had to find some way to repair them). I think the coliseum was his home.

My friend and I had returned to our home country, looking for a childhood friend of hers who her family had sold (he had been a household slave) away to a real female dog of a woman. Now, I had some previous dealings with this woman - the man whose identity I've assumed translated a book out of dwarven for her, a book of terrible evil and the like. Now, we found her friend, managed to screw everything up by hiring adventurers to handle his personal army (we thought he was evil, turns out we were wrong - oops), and were trying to figure out what to do next. The obvious thing, of course, is to take care of the woman, because she's a huge threat. We learned, see, that she was... well, involved with an evil dragon in the area, a bronze dragon. We, naturally, thought that it was odd that the bronze was evil. After doing some research, we find that the dragon is possessed by the spirit of an evil dwarven lich, and, though pure luck, manage to get our hands on the lich's phylactery. This is where our plan starts to get shot to hell. My plan was to use one evil group to take care of another. See, there was this Ruby Guard of some evil god, and we had been more or less helping each other out - they had resources we needed, and we were dangerous people that they wanted to control, so even though I didn't like them (I consider myself to be a good person, after all), I was willing to use them. So, we put the phylactery up for public auction, with the hope of at least drawing some of the dragon's minions out so we could question them and get some information. We catch one of the dragon's sons, decide to let the Ruby Guild take care of the unpleasant business of questioning him, and then find that the leaders of the Guild have taken the Phylactery and fled. I can't say I was surprised by the betrayal. Still, I should have prepared for it, and I kick myself now for not dealing more carefully. I was a fool for thinking I could trust evil, even to take out something that's a threat to itself. My friend and I realized we were far out of our league and decided to try and get help from the country currently invading the one we were in (yes, this all takes place in the middle of a war... which we might have accidentially kicked off, but it's not our fault). We warn them about whats going on, tell them we're part of a fictional resistance group fighting against their enemy because of slavery (not so far from the truth, actually), and then flee the country, just a week before a massive undead army retakes their borders, led by the (now-lich) leader of the Ruby Guild and his new Dracolich pet (the bronze apparently died). So, my question is this - looking back on it, I can see where I erred. What should I have done differently? And, more importantly, what should I do to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again in the future?

I am just glad that she didn't have a fly problem. Even for me a half-gold dragon bug would be just too wierd. As for the helm thing or the exile of my friend. I tried turning her good once because of a complaint with a few paladins. It turns out the other lawyers in the town are so bad shes the only one that can get anyone to actually win a case, even if the defendant is a paladin. Although thats probably because of the smite on sight behaivor common ammoung human paladins when they see a usually evil creature. The problem was that her rather odd hobbies that border on bureaicracy kind of got in the way. I am actually suprised that shes not lawful neutral. Anyway here is what happened the last time I tried it and the events before that. 1. An orc accused the paladin of assaulting him. 2. The paladin was put on trial and my friend became his lawyer after he looked over the success cases for the good lawyers. 3. The paladin feel during the trial for associating with evil. 4. She agreed to loan him 1,000 gold pieces at an intrest rate of one silver piece every two days so he could hire a cleric to get his paladinhood back. 5. She gave him the legal documents to sign. As per her usual behaivor each line was written in a different language. 6. The intrest was increased to three silver pieces after he did not put a check in the yes box under a statement saying "I agreed to repay the loan at(the date is not important). 7. She charged him three copper pieces for the terran translation after pointing to a clause written in undercommon. 8. Seven hours of signitures later the heavens literally took pity on him and sent down a lantern archon to tell a cleric to give him an attonement with out charging. 9. This same situation repeated about nine times. 10. She decided her hobbies would be better if she her clients didn't have to go on quests every time they hired her. 11. She asked me to craft a helm of opposite alignment for her and told me that she would lend me the 4,000 gp. 12. Since I know enough about her I told her no and then asked for 4,000 gp. This may seem odd but she always charges less when she is not offering the money. (Unfortunatly it still takes a toll on your sanity.) 13. I had the helmet made and had it used on her. 14. We hired a few clerics and determined that she was chaotic good. 15. Shes so obsessed with paperwork that she rememberes that I didn't sign the documents. 16. Eight hours and a whole lot of fustration later because of sentences in ignan and druidic ( I am still wondering how in my mothers home plane she learned druidic), and her alignment switched all the way back to lawful evil. Also I can't really kill or exile her. Last time I took her with me to Baathor my uncle and a bunch of pit fiend sorccerers put about 50 marks of justices and geas on me just to make sure that I keep her out of Baathor. So basically their is an organization of the most lawful evil beings devoted to keeping her out of the hells. Trust me she died once and they didn't even want her petitioner staying. Ok now I am begining to wonder. Is this common behaivor for half-blue dragons or any kind of half-dragon? Should I try to get the town to chip in to buy her a few golems? Now then when you answered that other question about pure breed dragons cross breeding that some one else asked. Did you mean abomination as in vile or abomination as in those powerful epic monsters that are actually rank 0 dieties created directly or indirectly form a god and a lesser creature or idea?

However one of my companions was stricken by some sort of mind effecting ability, and while were in the middle of traveling in the desert we found out that he has sold most of our food and water. This wouldn't be a problem in your world, but in my world Cleric require a Prayer book (spell book for clerics) much like wizards, so I can't memorize create food and water as it's not written in my prayer book. What should we do as a we seem to have lost our barrings and we're out of food and water. I'm just also a lowly cleric barely capable of casting spells that enhance armor or dispel magic (aka lvl 5).

Ok, one thing I've always had trouble with involving half-dragons. Humanoids specifically. If the humanoid is the mother, she's naturally going to give live birth. If the humanoid is the father, this wouldn't happen. Dragons lay eggs. Am I right in my thinking? Do half-dragons tend to differ based on which parent is the dragon? Is half-dragon hatching time different from a full wyrmling's? Have you heard anything about pregnancy/childbirth feeling different when the infant is a half-dragon? If the female is the humanoid, or a dragoness in humanoid form, she gives live birth. If she's a dragoness in dragon form, she lays an egg. Half-Dragons generally don't differ based upon which parent is which, although the mother is more likely to raise it. A half-dragon's total time in the egg, from conception to hatching, including egg-laying, is roughly one and a half times the normal term for the non-Dragon parent. This holds true even if there's a live birth. Ask a Dragoness about the rest, not me.

In my travels across the planes, I encountered a land wherein magic is in fact quite a rare gift. I only actually met 3 mages in my time there, and one was a fraud. Anyway, my question regards the 3rd that I met. She was only a young girl, yet she was able to cast magics of at least the 8th ring, and she had the most peculiar companions I ever laid my eyes on. Her familiar was a small black dog, and she also had an animated scarecrow, some form of metal construct (I believe some variation of a shield guardian, but I'm not sure), and a lion. My question pertains to the lion. This was no ordinary lion. It looked normal enough. But it exhibited powers I have only ever seen before in the beasts that travel with druids, and the young girl showed absolutely no sign of any druiduc power at all... Hence, I assume it isn't really a lion at all. The girl would not tell me what it was, even under my enchantments. I wondered if maybe you might have some idea as to what this creature may have been. Also... How would such a young girl know such powerful magic? Surely if it were that easy to learn, everyone in that world would? Thank you for any help you may give.

Let me spell this out, for everyone. Polymorphing yourself or otherwise changing your form in no way, shape, or form harms a child you may be carrying. In the event you change to a form incapable of carrying (IE: A male form) the pregnancy is simply "suspended" until you resume a female form. Simply put, as well, if a Dragoness takes a female humanoid's form before she would have had to lay a half-dragon's egg, the half-dragon comes out as a half-dragon infant. If she lays the egg and lets it hatch, it comes out grown up a bit more in terms of size and such. And not to rush you or point out a possible oversight (hey, many of us have overlooked your answers, and maybe you're just busy), but I too have some unanswered questions from page 3. Imagine a world where no Evil could exist - outside Evils attempting to enter are instantly and irrevocably vaporized. People that develop into Evil while inside are instantly shot out like an arrow from an elf's bow. Spells with the [evil] or [vile] descriptors automatically fail, while spells with the [good] descriptor are automatically maximized, and those with the [exalted] are Maximized, Empowered and Heightened to 9th-circle. A world where there is no shortage of food, or materials, or pleasent company. A world... Yeah, something like that. Imagine it, friend. Just imagine it. And Fifth, have you, or would you ever consider, allowing a humanoid to ride you, under any circumstances? All the time. It's such a relief, having someone above and behind me who can deal at threats that come at me from above. Plus, he gets a free attack every time I swoop by someone. So are morally-Neutral Dragonslayers whose life it is to eradicate my kind at any moral cost, for whatever the reason, be it vengeance for something a Dragon once did to them, or for profit. As well, any landed lord has enemies, many of whom would not be uninterested in extorting him with the wellbeing of his people at stake. I would not wish, for instance, to find myself conscripted to the service of some King on pain of the deaths of those people I was responsible for if I did not comply. Best to just avoid it. Also, a question of rather personal importance for me. Since it seems you've spent a great deal of time with Paladins over the years, I am sure you have seen more than one fall from grace. As I would wish to avoid this at all costs, as well as possibly recognize the signs of it in one of my companions, could you relate any tales or advice on general motives behind a fall, and what signs a paladin on the wrong path might display? When the start talking about the "greater good" or muttering about the ends justifying the means, or quoting Niccolo Machiavelli, they're heading for a Fall. If they refuse to do Paladial things - such as aiding a Goblin baby, for example - they're close. Watch them like a hawk, wait for the Fall (you'll know this has happened when they ping as Detect Evil - which is something everyone should have available to them) and beat them senseless, bang their heads with the helmet until they're Good again, and look into restoriing their Lawfulness through other means, probably Atonements.

Have you ever encountered this problem, or heard of a specific victim? Were you able to save him/her? Have you ever considered searching for magic powerful enough to annihilate this capability? I'd assume you couldn't make it only effective for converting evil. If this is true, would you try it? Would the loss of a simple way of redemption be worth stopping such a tragedy? I suppose you'd still have Sanctify the Wicked.

I also hand out very inobvious Rings of Protection from Evil, which, surprisingly, protect one from the Helm of Opposite Alignment. Usually they'll clap the person on the head a few times, figure it's not working, and not figure out why. At least it buys time. And of course, there's always Sanctify if you can't find a helm that hasen't been used on a given person. Had that happen once. Had to just crystalize him for a year and a day to finally get it out of his system. And I'd love to make a helmet that only goes from Evil to Good, but that would take a lot of gold and much more personal essense than the normal Helm. I shall cast Antimagic Field on myself, then on you. Then swat you like a fly. Never fight someone matching your weak spots against their strengths. In any event, sorcerers suck. They may make great blaster mages, but the most spells the greatest sorcerer may know, total, is forty-three. That's from the weakest cantrip to the mightiest of ninth-circle spells. To be quite frank, I'm not that powerful a wizard yet, and I have tomes of magic which exceed that many on their own. I have to catagorize my spell library by school and circle. There is no power in willful ignorance, which is what the Sorcerer practices. Especially the kind of Sorcerer who has no imagination and only chooses variations on direct damage, elemental evocations, direct damage, elemental conjurations, save-or-dies, and the occasional buff. It's far too easy to shut such a Sorcerer down if you research what spells he knows. He's fond of Fire? That's easy - I'm naturally immune! Fond of death spells? I have an amulet of Death Ward..... And now that Sorcerer is, frankly, screwed. Of course, the same can be said for anyone planning an attack on a Dragon, but a Sorcerer is worse. A Wizard can always prepare something to help him defeat the biggest target, no matter how high the Spell Resistance. A Sorcerer? If it dosen't fit the style of "large and crunchy beef-monster", he's in trouble. You can find a halfling caravan that makes regular stops at the oasis where the followers of Io have made camp. Go there, injure yourself, and appear weak and helpless and in need of healing. You will be taken in and bandaged, but nobody will cast a healing spell on you. That is because they can't. Io is a myth; as we know, all dieties answer their followers' calls for spells, because they [b]have to[/i] in order to survive. Otherwise they'd lose followers, and a God with no followers dies. Therefor, Io is either long-dead, never-existed, or so much beyond caring about us that we might as well call him a myth, because that's what he is.

Actually, it's not a bad idea for a Dragon to keep a Fly spell up. The ability to sacrifice your normal speed for 60 feet in any direction, including changing your orientation at will, is not to be understated. That said, one of the best spells I've ever had the pleasure of experiancing greatly accelerated my natural flight speed, allowing me to zoom around at frankly ridiculous speeds. That was very, very fun - especially weaving in and out of a mountain canyon at that speed. Thankyou for this amazing opportunity. You are most welcome.

Have you ever come across one of these items or been tempted to part with some of your treasure to convince a wizard to make one? And on that note, you describe yourself as a wizard. Have you ever made items of magic? If so, what have you made? And if not, then why not? I understand all wizards can at the very least create scrolls, though I imagine that in your case you would use a less flamable material.

You're thinking of the Forest Moon of Endor, also known as the Sanctuary Moon, where Ewoks did in fact live. Chewbacca, however, never made a residence on the Sanctuary Moon. He only visited the moon when he accompanied Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, R2-D2, C-3P0 and a bunch of nameles Rebel Commandos on a mission to destroy the Imperial Shield Bunker that was projecting a shield around the Death Star II, which was still under construction in orbit above. While in Baator one of my dumber cousins decided to annoy Tiamat about the whole Io thing(needless to say if hes still existing he definately got demoted into a lemure). After Tiamat destroyed him she for some reason decided to mention that her father Io was a bastard that wanted her and Bahamut to have children and that she did not want to hear his name again. A few days latter I asked the gold-dragon troll to summon an Aspect of Bahamut.The Aspect of Bahamut claimed that Tiamat killed Io's first born out of jealousy and was then banished from Io's pressence. Should I just assume that Bahamut and Tiamat are insane? Now three more questions not related to that 1. What is your oppinion on the spellscale species and the fact that they are all descended from humanoid sorcerers? 2. Is there any truth to the legend that the first groups of kobolds grew out of the ground near areas that dragons were injured? 3. Is it true that most of the gold in an evil dragons lair is acctually the property of a kobald tribe?

I do believe some dragons do, though they tend to think of it more as keeping useful animals rather than keeping a pet, in the way you humanoids consider the notions.
