Attaining lichdom and natural fly speed [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-18-05, 08:53 AM I have a lvl 6 character with the tauric template.
lvl2 wiz(sun elf) and 3HD Griffin +1ecl for tauric.

Now i have an Average Fly speed becouse of my nice featery wings.

If i some day join the undead famaly by becoming lich. Will i keep my fly speed?

I thought i read somewhere that dracoliches have no fly speed but i could be mistaken.

Anyone out there with an anwser?

07-18-05, 10:46 AM Rotten wings may not provide enough lift to move the body. Skeletal wings surely do not.

But, you'll be a lich - teleporting everywhere.

07-18-05, 11:35 AM I thought I saw somewhere that if you have flight and become a lich, that you retain your fly speed (which becomes (Su)). Am I wrong?

07-18-05, 11:44 AM yeah but "natural fly speed" might come in handy on higher levels where Magical fly speed might be dispelled or where antimagic field tactics prove very handy against magic users(like me) if i might be able to keep my natural fly speed then i would be very happy.

Maybe some very smart gnome coulde make my wings half artificial so i can keep on flying.

But indeed i also thought that becouse of the rotting proces my wings become useless.
If it however becomes Su it still would not function in an antimagic field correct?
but then again it would not be dispellable(or am i wrong?).

Natural fly speed is just too cool to lose. I have to figure something out.

07-18-05, 12:56 PM I wouldnt recomend letting Gnomes build you anything, especially something that will be attached to your body.

07-19-05, 02:02 AM When in doubt, GRAFT! Pop some Undead Dragon Wings on ya and you're kewl. Should also get an impressive Wingspan.

Maybe fight a solar and rip it's wings off so you can keep it feathery.
