Callista 05-14-05, 03:00 PM	You'll have to explain what you mean by "Raptoran"... it's not familiar to me... As for "bard", well, obviously you're good at music; and you have magical ability. You're not Lawful, which could mean anything from a traveler to a free spirit to an out-and-out gypsy who won't settle down unless you tie him down. What's your deity? Are you good, evil, or in between? How did you grow up? Why do you like music? What do you think of the world around you--optimist? Pessimist? Do you believe in fate? What about your religion--how devout are you? Do you worship one deity, or dedicate yourself to a cause, or not to any deity at all? What do you think of wizards--your polar opposite in magical style? What about warriors--do you think they should appreciate your music rather than concentrate on swinging steel around; or do you get along with them because of your own martial bent? Are you prejudiced? Lazy? Prideful? Paranoid? Do you have a violent streak, or are you a coward? Do you protect your friends first in battle, or would you rather go straight for the enemey? Do you have a sense of style? What about honor: Even a Chaotic bard can have a sense of honor, especially when it comes to dueling. Backstories explain personalities; so how did your character come by the aspects of his personality? Does he have a mentor? What is his relationship with family like? Is he married; does he have children? Or would he rather have a woman in every town? Maybe he's completely uninterested in the opposite sex--he prefers to stay with his music! Find a way to explain all the aspects you choose for your character's personality in his background. There are some things you have tendencies towards when you're born; there are some things your parents teach you, or your friends lead you into; there are some things your environment forces upon you. Give your character a personality, find a backstory that matches it. Or write a backstory, then find the personality. Either way is fine. Da Dinictus 05-14-05, 03:06 PM	You're playing a Raptoran? Start reading up on Races of the Wild, then. What caused your character to leave your home? Have you already flewn back up already? What songs do you play? What are your views on love and morality? Religion, much? Come on, expand a bit on things, yourself :P
