dark_youkai 05-24-05, 07:55 PM	Hi, I'm not an often surfer of the boards but my situation called for outside aid. By the by, I'm Dark youkai. but you can call me Demon or Dark. Back to my problem. I'm playing a Chaotic Good elf ranger (LV.4). I was so happy to start playing so I did in a hurry. but I realized one major problem. I wasn't roleplaying. I completely forgot about my personnality and backstory!!!!! I've admitted my mistake so call me whatever you want. I just need some idea's about what my characters backstory. As a personnality, so far I'm pretty cold and quiet. But when I get to know people well I become kind, witty and a bit of a joker.but I don't treat strangers in any speacial way I also don't talk about my past. Here's my stump in the road. I need some kind of backstory about why I'm cold and secerative. please please help!!!!!! Thanks for you patience and time
kitsune_kou 05-24-05, 09:05 PM	well as a propieter of roleplaying over 'gaming' i make my character around my backstory usually, BUT i suppose we could try it this way... i am going to call your character linus, as he is unnamed as of my knowledge.how about.. linus is a border prince, a minor noble in elven culture. these position is one of little prestige but great importance. it is from the border kingdom that the much feared elven ranger patrols come from. linus is a prince, albeit 5th in line for the throne, a rarity amongst elves. in this position linus wasn't raised as his brothers trained to be king. it was almost assured he wouldn't be, so although he recieved the highest education he was also free to choose his own path. with his family heritage pretty much closed to him linus decided to go as far from them as was allowed at his young age. thus he joined the ranks of border patrols, trained by the rangers who served his family. it was in this tight knit group of brothers that linus learned to ply his trade. one day the group (which consited of 4-6) came upon a human lying bloody on the path. they came to his aid, only to find it was a trap. the painted and uninjured human rose and bade his (insert favored enemy here) minion/s attack. taken unprepared in their kindness the group was cut down, only linus and another injured escaped. the got free but the wounds were too much for his friend. as he lay dying in linus's arms he bade him to seek out the treacherous creatures and avenge his brothers in arms. linus went and beseeched from his father a retinue of warriors, to seek his vengeance and was denied, it was far to dangerous, he was an heir to the throne he couldn't go traipsing after some bandits. linus nodded in acknowledgement and left. that night he gathered his things left a goodbye note and left. his enemies would pay, with or without his father's permission. he's been hunting his prey ever since, helping those who need his assistance along the way. (though now wary of the "helpless") linus is always a little cautious of strangers, they've wronged him before, what's to stop them from doing it again if not himself? but once someone has earned his trust and respect then he's an ally for life, willing to stick out his neck for his new brothers. he can be withdrawn at times especially when confronted with (insert favored enemy here") or anyone who uses treachery to get ahead. there ya go dark that's all i gots off the top o' my head.use it as you like,
