I recently joined an Eberron campaign with some of my buddies. My friend would be the DM, playing with his father sister, me and another friend.

Things were going well. I had decided that I would take a hit in my levels and be one down from the rest of the party.

I would be playing a Warforged Fighter, pretty good stats, immense focus on the GS.

FINALLY. (We didnt play for 2 months) We sat down and played and his father is in the spotlight EVERY TIME. Every Battle, all of the conversation, in fact in each of the fights i either fell on my face or was mind blasted by illithed.

Now for my gripe. His father is a psionic dwarf. He has his own legendary weapon. He has goo that increases his AC above mine. He has deep gouge and pretty much takes down the Psionic Killer By Himself . He has a teleport skill (At will).

The campaign is based on what the DM's father wants, and i havent even hit something yet.

Any advice you guys have would be ueful.

the problem with quitting the campaign is that i would be unable to play DnD

There are maybe 4 other people within 50 miles of my town who play

Maybe something that i would be able to do at the table... IC OOC i dunno.

The real question is, Could you deal with playing in a game like that?

I've played with a few biased Dm's in my day and the truth is..... they games are ussally not worth it....

i played in a game where the average character level was 12 once and the main character was a level 25 vampire who got all the magic items.

that game lasted about 2 sessions.

Now those two guys still play the game 3 years later....

i guess i will just suffer through

I leave for BCT (Basic cadet Training (for west point)) in three months anyway.

Ill just put up with it and use the "Pranks" From the 1001 pranks to pull on DM List

Ive heard DnD is huge in the armed forces, so maybe you will have good luck there.

Yeah, most of my players have been military folks for years since my wife is in and all. There's a pretty good chunk of folks that are into it, especially amongst the signal and intelligence branches. The only problem is that the groups only stay together for a couple years before everyone's moving and such.
