In my current campaign, I'm playing a 2nd level half-orc barbarian with a speed of 50 ft. (by virtue of the Quick trait, Unearthed Arcana.) In a few levels, I'm going to multiclass as a scout (Complete Adventurer,) giving me an additional +10 to my speed by about 5th level.

My question is, what can I do with a character with a speed of 60 feet? I'm thinking of obtaining the Spring Attack feat, (which will be nice combined with my spiked chain,) but after that I'm kind of lost as to the tactics I should be using for a character with such a high speed. Thanks.

Other than running around real fast, spring attacking, jumping real far, and charging real far there aren't really any other high speed tactics i can think of. I suppose you'd have an easier time making that leap attack charge

With a speed that high, you can *easily* charge to the enemy's back-lines and take out their spellcaster. Rage along the way for some added oomph, and the Scout's skirmish feature gives even more oomph.

Or, Spring Attack over to the Spellcaster, then back to the frontlines.

I was thinking along those lines, and I've been considering Leap Attack over Spring Attack, considering I already have Power Attack. With that much 'oomph' (charge, rage, skirmish, power attack + leap attack,) focusing on spellcasters seems a bit overkill though (especially since we have a spellthief in the party.) Methinks I could deal with hard to reach archers of fighter types?

The reason I suggested going after the enemy spellcasters is because you really really want them out of the way as fast as possible. Even more so than hard to read archers. Thus, if you can score initiative over the spellcaster, you can charge over to them and hit them really really hard, before they can do annoying things like Flying out of the way. It's hardly overkill - you want those enemy spellcasters out of the way as soon as possible.

Bit if the Spellthief is handling the enemy spellcasters fine, then hard to reach archers are a good next target. :)

With mobility and spring attack you will be playing the HULK. Hulk Smash!!
Jump into enemy ranks kill whatever you land on with a power attack, then jump again to square off with the enemy mage or cleric in the back row. Sound like fun.
