| t_mctwist09-14-05, 12:27 AM | imagin a barbarian hafling :D that would be small i imagin haflings in a slaughter hahaha  |
| Kohdok09-14-05, 02:06 AM | I know, seeing that cute little munchkin wielding an axe his size and foaming at the mouth while babbling in a voice reminiscient of "Alvin and the Chipmunks". I can picture it. Now, how about a HALF-FEY halfling barbarian. |
| Tedly22409-14-05, 02:08 AM | If it's Eberron setting, Halfling Barbarian for the win! Give the sucker one or more of the racial weapons, jack up ride and animal handling, and get on your bad dinosaur and ride!!! Or Halfling Paladin to experience some of the real wholesome goodness of a Holy Dinosaur steed. |
| Callista09-14-05, 02:40 AM | Actually... it can work. Just think of a primitive hunter/archer sort. 1. Concentrate on Dexterity and Strength. With the Halfling DEX bonus, you can easily get them both decently high. 2. Get a compound bow, with your Rage strength bonus. Get another for your normal strength bonus. 3. Rage. Start slinging arrows. 4. Multiclass as Ranger (Archery) and/or take Archery-based feats. See? Not so silly after all... |
| Raxmei09-14-05, 04:45 AM | There's a halfling subrace in Forgotten Realms that has Barbarian as its favored class. I suppose they'd operate by sneaking up to ambush with thrown weapons. Halflings get a bonus to sneakery and thrown weapons, and thrown weapons cheaply receive strength bonus to damage. I suddenly get an image of halfling barbarians mounted on riding dogs chasing enemies through the forest, hacking them down with throwing axes. |
| Phrennzy09-14-05, 11:10 AM | Modern day pygmies will rape you with their jungle skills. You have been warned. |

Sneak right up to targer, next thing you know, GRRAAAARR!!! *CHOP* and your kneecaps are flying off. And replace your riding dogs with velociraptors and those are Talentan halflings in Eberron. I also think they're a good reason for monkey grip. Magic medium-sized weapons are much more common than large or small ones. |
| TheErsatzFacsimileOfMe09-14-05, 11:59 AM | All I can say is: Max out Ride Take TWF, Monkey Grip and Oversized-TWF as quickly as humanly possible. It's like a portable, fast moving blender. :smirk: |
| Doopliss09-14-05, 12:03 PM | Oh man, I think I have to use that as an NPC. ;) |

| Raxmei09-14-05, 02:20 PM | I forgot to add "Ride-by Attack" in all my excitment. I don't understand how your fighting style is supposed to work. How does Ride-by Attack help a TWF user? |
| Doopliss09-14-05, 03:13 PM | For extra fun, add hurricane attack to the equation. |
| psionichamster09-14-05, 03:37 PM | want something nasty? halfling barbarian w/ IUS, IMP Grapple, armor spikes, and a decent str. high dex=tough to hit (for a barb) raging str + imp grapple (clever wrestling when you can) =uglyness max out hide, and you are set for a "leap from the trees, grab your head, and squash it into paste." for added fun use a str debilitating poison b4 engaging, and you're set namaste' the hamster |
| TheErsatzFacsimileOfMe09-14-05, 03:44 PM | I don't understand how your fighting style is supposed to work. How does Ride-by Attack help a TWF user? Charge attack with no risk of an AoO? Oh, but you'd still only get one attack...nevermind. :embarrass Read the feat description too quickly. Alternately....Is there a feat for a "leaping charge" from the back of your mount? Just picture a Halfling dual weilding medium-sized short swords, screaming by on the back of his wolf and leaping off to attack (granted it would be a charge) and then taking multiple attacks on the following round. |
| UltimateReality09-14-05, 11:32 PM | Modern day pygmies will rape you with their jungle skills. You have been warned. Phrennzy, I love the way you think. :evillaugh |
| Woas09-15-05, 01:56 PM | I played a halfling barbarian once. He was pretty good actually... I roleplayed him having Napoleon Syndrome. I even took the -2 penalty to wield 'normal' (medium) sized weapons. All around a fun, viable character. |
| Draco Strang09-15-05, 04:53 PM | Phrennzy, I love the way you think. :evillaugh Any sentence with the words "pygmy" and "rape" together is indicative of how disturbed its speaker is. |
| TheChilliGod09-15-05, 05:02 PM | You know those tests that tell you what sort of character you were (I hate them so much!) One said I was a halfling barbarian. Our group constantly makes fun of halfling barbarians. Frothing at the mouth, wildly swinging a small greataxe, lopping people's lower legs off. It's right up there in things to mock with the half-orc bard! |
| =-Nonsensical-=09-15-05, 05:17 PM | Modern day pygmies will rape you with their jungle skills. You have been warned. ROFL. Phrennzy, you just made my day. :) |
| UltimateReality09-15-05, 09:04 PM | Any sentence with the words "pygmy" and "rape" together is indicative of how disturbed its speaker is. Precisely. I stand by my original comment. :) |
| Phrennzy09-15-05, 09:59 PM | |
| pres_man09-15-05, 10:47 PM | Halfling barbarian with some rogue levels can be a quite frightening thing (barbarian and rogue have several abilities that mix well) also the speed increase is nice for halflings that are always way behind the group. |
| Gallameed09-15-05, 11:01 PM | Feral halfling Barbarians are great! I wish I had one! :D Reminds me of Wildchild from the Age of Apocalypse (Alt reality X-men comics from years back). For those who dont know what I'm on about: You had this character called Sabretooth, who was this big seven foot tall walking wall of muscle and mean, a real bearish type (human barbarian) who had a rabid, hissing, spitting, dog-boy, "halfling" on a chain, he would throw the halfling at people and it would rake their poor little eyes into peeka-boo confetti! Those were the days... :) |
| eudas09-16-05, 10:54 AM | I made a gnomish cleric/barbarian once, who turned out to be quite amusing. I started out with a gnome Cleric of Kord, an acolyte fresh out of cleric training, assigned a remote backwater tribe of gnomes to preach to (think missionaries tending to American Indians). He goes out there, and within a level or two, "goes native", and takes a Barbarian level. Right now I think he's something along the lines of Cleric 3/Barbarian 2. I picked gnome because of the CON bonus, which helps with Rage. Point buy a 14 con, +2con from gnome, +4con from Bear's Endurance, and +4con from rage. Lots of hp's! eudas |

Telepathic to boot. |
| GroopaKoopa09-16-05, 11:31 AM | Belkar, Order of the Stick, 'nuff said. |
| CaoSlayer09-16-05, 12:13 PM | ghostwise halflings, nice subrace, they ever had a prestige class about slings. also there are the feral halflings of Darksun, you know that something it is wrong in the setting when you realize that people are more afraid of halflings than from orcs. |
| nyysjan09-16-05, 02:55 PM | F*** the subraces a normal PHB halfling can make a kick ass Barbarian without any multiclassing Eberron campaign setting finaly shows halflings as something more than a mere comic relief small size = +1 AC, +1 attack high dex = +1 ac, +1 ranged attack not to mention +4 to hide and other skill bonuses now give him mounted combat feat reach weapon and dinosaur mount (Clawfoot from ECS) and he'll kick your half-orc barbarians ass so hard that you'll be searching him from the 12th moon (Eberron has twelve moons plus one hidden) |
| JonnyBot09-16-05, 07:43 PM | One of the players in my group is a halfling Frenzy Berserker Barbarian. Quite a dangerous combo. |
| SodaGuy09-16-05, 09:17 PM | OMG, yes. I'm doing it. But what to name to give this awesome little guy. |
| Gilgiga of the Hunt09-16-05, 09:58 PM | Having DMed one in Eberron, trust me. It works. |
| gamerd0rk09-17-05, 02:20 AM | He's so cute when he gets mad |
