| horse07-27-05, 07:40 PM | i'm unsure on how barding (mount armor) works..... from the description in the 3.5 PHB, i think u just pick any normal armor, multiply its price by 4, & call it barding, giving the mount whatever AC bonus, max dex, etc. that the normal armor has. is this correct? if not, please enlighten me. also, do you add the price for masterwork before or after u multiply the price by 4? i'm assuming u add before you multiply, since there's more armor to masterwork. |

It also weighs 80 lbs, twice the norm. It acts exactly like normal chain mail, except only a horse can wear it. Since the normal base speed is 50 feet for your horse, it's now 35 feet. As for masterwork, I believe you do the masterwork cost after. If I'm not mistaken, the masterwork cost for small and large armor for humanoids is the same price. Think of the horse-armor as the same thing. Keep in mind that I haven't looked into armor for horses too much. I could be wrong. |
