| harel_dr02-08-04, 02:46 PM | Which was ur best move on battle that decided the course of it??? and why??? :uh-huh: |
| cowdragon02-09-04, 02:50 AM | My sorcerer/dragon disciple used a free action to activate Arcane Strike. Already had a jump spell going. Was already invisible. Jumped into a melee using the Raptor School tactical feet to pounce upon my enemy, leaving them flat-footed. Then proceeded to use a Vampiric Touched/Arcane Striked/Iajutsued claw attack on the uwary foe. I made BBEG jelly with that attack. Was very cool. To top it off, it activated my Frightful presence when I attacked so all the other enemies were shaken when I got to attack them. GRRRR!!!! :) The Cowdragon :mage: |
| Kash Darreder02-09-04, 09:23 AM | I mentioned it in another thread a few days ago, but here we go. We were (back in 2e) up against a horrible and most probably overpowered fighter, who in less than 10 round had every last one of the group dead og dying except me. I was the party's backup mage. You know buff spells, transport spells and so on not combat abilities. We were almost 8 in the group so another Wizard did all that stuff. None the less, I managed to succed where everyone else had failed, by using an Item spell on his platemail. It imidiately shrunk to about 1/12 original size, and since the BBEG did not have the time to take it off, he went squish inside it. KD |
| harel_dr02-09-04, 10:19 AM | mine was with my half-orc barbarian, while we were ambushed, and my group was a human monk, another half-orc barbarian, and a elf ranger. we were at the forest and we found a turn were there was a gigant rock, and there was a 12 feet wall with an ogre and a wizards on the top, while behind the bushes there were 2 arcane archers. so the monk and the other barbarian(were wolf) were in a steel net, and they suffer an poisoned arrow. and the wizards threw a thunder spell on me, so i was a were wolf too. so i went runing to the wall and while i was climbing the ogre was on ready action, so if i get to the top he hits me. so i made a jump check, get a 19 and after make a grapple, 23, and we fall right to the floor, and i kiled him while he was at the floor, with a critical bite, another bite, a critical claw, and another claw (all getting up to a total of 80 dmg), (while this happend the ranger escaped like a little sissy girl and the another 2 where in negative, the barbarian woke up and i killed him :P) and after i killed 1 archer and the other 2 escaped. (cowards):D |
| mythandra02-09-04, 10:48 AM | I was playing a rogue at the time. probably about 12th level, but I'm not sure. We were hunting down a black dragon that lived about a day's journey into a swamp next to the town that it was terrorizing. Heroes to the rescue! My rogue was the only one in the party going, "guys....maybe this isn't such a good idea? I really don't think this is such a good idea. We're all gonna die, you know that? it's a DRAGON." As we're trudging through the swamp, we hear flapping wings and *SPLOOSH* this 12 foot tall black dragon (still a small dragon in the grand scheme of things) lands in the middle of our party. Fight ensues. I forget how we knew it, but we knew that we couldn't let this dragon get away because there were a bunch of smaller dragons (think "baby" but still big enough to hand you your ass) in the same lair with this one. The paladin (plural) in our group got a couple of lucky hits in and the dragon got decidedly defensive. We knew it was going to take off next turn and we couldn't let that hapen. none of us could fly or even run fast enough to keep up. I wasn't about to let this thing run, heal, get reinforcements, and return (our DM believes in natural consequences and logical proressions). I activated the spider climb ability in my short sword, leapt onto the dragon (provoking and AoO which it legitimately missed), and climbed up onto it's back. It tried to shake me and failed, proceeded to :censored::censored::censored::censored: :censored: slap me with its wing, and then took flight. I killed it mid flight, failed my tumble check upon landing, took 54 points of damage, made a successful fortitude check to save from massive damage, and laid there with 4 hit points until my party came to heal me. Talk about a string of lucky rolls... |
| Nevsir Girithost02-09-04, 02:39 PM | I'm in a party of 13th level monstrous characters. An Ogre Mage Paladin (don't ask), a Drider cleric, an Aranea sorcerer, a Stone giant, a Satyr, and a Troll fighter (me). We ended up on an iceberg in a cavern with an ancient white dragon. the troll and ogre mage were both beaten down within the first couple of rounds, the aranea and drider were cooking it with flame strike and lightning bolt. The dragon ended up killing the drider and started climbing a large column of ice to get at the aranea who was on the ceiling. My troll regains consciousness, gets up and, after throwing his bastard sword at the dragon, decides to bull rush the column of ice and break it down, knocking the dragon to the floor and crushing it under the column of ice. The dragon, however had an ability that, when it died, it exploded and dealt 20d6 damage to anyone within 60 feet, namely me and the ogre mage. |
| harel_dr02-09-04, 08:21 PM | talking about lucky throws, my friend told me than in his group there was a fighter with a swords (dont know name) that when is critical hit, it cuts of the head. so they were with a red dragon (probably an old one) and every body had bad throw...1...3....4....2....1...1...5...a nd so on. and then the wizard make this fighter invisible and it make a climbing check and gets to the head, and what happend  got 20... yes it was a critical, so the whole battle was decided by one dice. now thats a lucky throw |
| Uberman02-11-04, 04:16 AM | @HAREL: It's called VORPAL. Now, as for my best moves.... I was playing a Sorc/Cleric in an avg 23rd lvl campaign. We were facing a group of Titans who REALLY didn't like us... So of course while they were smacking the rest of the group around, I stood back and started casting. I kept getting yelled at to help out with a fireball or something.. they couldn't see what i was doing b/c of my invisibility. A few rounds later, they heard my voice in their heads "RUN, NOW. YOU HAVE 6 SECONDS BEFORE I DROP THE BOMB". So, realizing their resident *Black Mage* (TM) was finally getting into the fight, they all booked out of there. Next round they hear a very loud BOOM and a splattering sound, and are knocked to the ground by the vibration.. Looking back they see a collosal, double-sized, Metal dragon sitting in a large crater where the three titans were, groaning in pain... Here's a copy of the note I passed to my DM while they were getting owned: "I Shapechange into a Great gold Wyrm, then cast Righteous Might, then Iron Body. Then I fly above the titans, and Telepathically (Helm of Telepathy) inform the others to move their butts outa the way." After the characters moved, I announced this to the DM: "I BREATH fire on them, then I fold my wings and drop." A SIDE NOTE: Now, an average collosal creature is over 250,000 LB... Righteous might increases weight by X8... Iron body increases weight by X10... Damage from a falling object is based on weight... If we hadn't been using the "max 20d6 falling/crushing damage" rule, they would've taken either 21,250 D6 (if the Ironbody/Righteous might combo makes the weight X17 per NORMAL d&d multiplier rules...), or a whopping 108,500 D6 (If the ironbody/righteous might combo is X80 to weight, like I think it should be). Truthfully, until I did that we had ruled that the 20d6 cap didn't make sense.... DM sure changed his mind quickly though... Took him less time to change his mind about that rule than it took a couple hundred tonne Iron Dragon to fall 50'. As it was, the Titans ended up dieing forom the combo of dragons breath +20d6 crushing, while I took no damage b/c of my damage reduction. Dm told me to make a new character for the next game session though... *L* |
| harel_dr02-15-04, 05:07 PM | u know what should hurt a lot, here it goes: we were camping(me and my group) and tribe of ogres was coming, so me and the fighter diged a hole big enought to make all the tribe fall on it, and a rope, so they wont have a chance... so they fell, and our wizard droped a meteor swarm, and a fire ball...they couldnt save, the died between magic flames... that shuld hurt:smirk: |
| RRG02-15-04, 07:00 PM | Alright, first, the 7th level party Human Wizard (Addicted to anything having to do with acid) Elf Fighter6/rogue1 (Going all archer feats) Gnome Paladin (Don't ask) Half-Orc Cleric (Farlanghan, if you're wondering) So, we're in this old thought to be abandoned temple of gruumsh (keyword: THOUGHT.) After a while, we come across the inner sanctum, and what do we do? Accidently interrupt a Gruumsh worshipping session, involving about 40 orcs and an Eye of Gruumsh. Fun stuff. So, we start running, with the wizard dropping a wind wall behind us to keep the 15 or so archers from making us pincushions. We go through a narrow hallway that leads to a large, rubble-filled room, and I tell the rest of the party to go on as I leave a nasty little surprise for the enemy. What did I do? Filled the hallway with caltrops, hid around the corner, and waited for the orcs to catch up. The first orcs, in their mad rush, didn't see the caltrops, and spiked their feet on them. As they were pushed through by the horde behind them, I drew out my bow and started sniping them. I had about 40 arrows with me, so I was going for about 20 rounds pumping the enemies full of arrows as they crowded through. Eventually, I ran out of arrows, of course, so I ran off down a side hallway. I decide to hide in a corner, and guess what my skill check was? Natural 20. The orcs rolled a natural 1 on their spot check, so they charged right past me. After the coast was clear, I went back out to the room and put any enemies that were still alive to the sword. Cruel, I know, but these were orcs who had sacked several towns. The party were at the temple just to check and see if it was the hq of the orcs. It was. Anyways, I'm about halfway done, and guess who decides to make an appearance? The big, bad Eye or Gruumsh himself. I'm about to take off down the hallway I just came out of and hide again, but I could hear the orcs coming back. I figured this was the end for my character, and I figured I might as well finish it with a duel against the head orc himself. I stab, do a bit of damage, he swings, gets a critical, and knocks me down to about 30 hp. (Note: low Con, so low hp for me :( ) I begin thinking, 'oh, hell, this ain't even fair,' when out of the blue, a Melf's Acid Arrow strikes the eye. One seconds later, a Hold Person. Then, a battlecry to heironeous and a small gnome charges out and starts hacking away at the eye. My party had decided to come back and see what happened to me. Well, we finally kill the Eye, when the rest of the orcs come busting in the room. Needless to say, after a long, bloody melee, my party emerged the victors. |
| Sidious02-15-04, 09:07 PM | I think my best one wasn't technically a course-of-battle changing event, it was an avoid battle event. In the solo campain I'm in, I play a half-elf theif. I was attempting to steal from a Baron's manor with a 1-hour time limit (how long before the alchemists fire planted by an assasin goes off) and I get surprised by a guard. I attempt a grapple to hurl him out the window after stabbing him with a poisoned dagger, and fail. He runs upstairs to get more guards and I miss my AoO. Outside of a window nearby is a flagpole, let us say, about 20-25 feet away. I can't survive at attack by the guards, and if I did, I would die from the explosion. I take a running leap and dive out the window (ala Matrix) and succeed on the jump check and the dexterity check, letting me grab onto the flagpole and slide down, whereupon I hitched a ride wiht the assasin. The best thing my players ever did was grab a flaming oil lamp from the ceiling of a kobold cave and light fire to the beds nearby, the Monk's quarterstaff, and the kobolds themselves. 20 kobolds beaten by 3 level ones and a wolf. |
| harel_dr03-13-04, 12:50 PM | this isnt an actual battle move that decided the course of the battle, but it was fun: we where at a gnome city, invaded by koblots, and when we entered we saw a bunch of over-grown kobotls, after a while in the battle, i decide to use power attack (with my 6th lvl half-orc barbarian) and took of all of my bonus,(14) and i hit a kobolt, this resulted on the kobolt exploded and spried by the floor :D |
| Roland the Crownbreaker03-14-04, 10:27 AM | My personal best was in a second edition game with a fighter/bard. We were up in a tough combat that wasn't really going our way, with my character facing of against an enemy fighter/wizard who had a few levels on me. Not able to think of anything else that has a chance of turning the tide quickily, my character reached into his backpack, pulled out a rope, and cast bind. Throwing it at the bad guy and yelling the instructions "bind and gag!" and hoping for the best. The DM, in a bit of arrogance rolls the save die in front of the screen. I can still hear the words even now... "A pathetic attempt.............I HATE YOU!!!!" <d20 rolls a result of 1> But for sheer audacity I like my dwaven cleric and the folding boat. The DM for that game for some strange reason known only to him decided that a folding boat would be a good magic item for a dwarf. In a mass combat my dwarf is slowly marching up the field as a number of enemy warriors close in on my position. I pull out the boat, toss it and speak the command word. "catch" |
| SmiloDan03-14-04, 01:48 PM | My barbarian 2/Fighter 2 disarmed a balor tanar'ri. Yeah, we were 4th level against an CR 19 or whatever they were in 3.0. It was sick. We actually killed it, then died in the explosion. |
| Tytalus03-14-04, 10:51 PM | Originally posted by harel_dr [...] i decide to use power attack (with my 6th lvl half-orc barbarian) and took of all of my bonus,(14) and i hit a kobolt, this resulted on the kobolt exploded and spried by the floor :D The maximum amount you can use for Power Attack is your BAB, which would be 6 in this case. |
| BaronVonStevie03-15-04, 01:09 AM | we were all holed up in this citadel helping to fend off an invading army. We had a party of about 4 or 5 as I recall. I was Azaraam(see my sig) and our enemies were an endless wave of CR 1's. I had about 40 some odd arrows, being spent by 3 attacks per round with the Rapid Attack Feat. I picked the high ground as we were fighting our way down large stone stairs descending from the main wall into the central courtyard that was just before the gate. There was something like 50 warriors breaking through and I hit everyround on every one of my full attacks and DROPPED a CR1 with every roll of damage from my Composite Longbow. |
| Sir_Jack_Sparrow03-15-04, 01:04 PM | Well it wasent brilliant tactics, but sheer fury.... (and some good rolls) We were fighting the Tarresque, i let it swallow me so i could hit it from inside the belly of the ebast (acid and crush damage seemed more appealing than claw claw bite tail horn horn) Unfortunately i just could not make those concentration checks my dm said i needed to make inorder to swing my sword (i never knew you needed to concentrate to attack) So one of the guys teleported me out, and our wizard cause irresistable fdance on the ebast, so it danced while i hacked. then it stopped dancing..... i was the only front line fighter type. So i decided to stick it out. i got hit 5 times, took over 100 damage in those 5 hits, lucky for me my dm allowed splat books and other stuff, and even created a few new feats to help keep the game balanced (he allowed the scion prestige class in our group, thats a crazy class) so one of the feats my character is blessed with is called eye for an eye, when hit by an opponent, if able you may take one extra attack next round at your full bab against that opponent only. Big T hit me five times, i hit him 14.... for a total of 341 damage, wow did he ever feel that sting i tell you. |
| Goreg Skullcrusher03-15-04, 01:42 PM | I once had a Half-Orc Barbarian (with the same name as my userid). He had 26 Str by level 10, 30 while raging. (18 initial, +2 racial, +2 stat increase, +2 Gauntlets, +2 size from Permanent Enlarge Person), DR 3/-, and well over 30 in his Jump skill. Also wields a Spiked Chain. On to the event: We were informed that a local village was to be pillaged and looted for supplies by a crusading army from another country. We just happened to be in that village. All my teammates unanimously decided to jet out of there. (Good aligned party, but not stupid enough to fight 5000 soldiers) My DM however, set himself up by having the father of one of the other PC's live in this town. This other PC (lvl 11 Human female bard) was Goreg's only true friend, and he lived only for protecting her. (A Beauty and the Beast relationship, if you will. :) ) Given that, he enlisted in the local militia (500 poorly trained men). My DM asked if I was serious. I was. Battle started and I charged headlong into battle with a Tower Shield for protection. I got reasonably close, ditched the shield, jumped over 35 ft into the middle of the invading army. Did a single attack. Cleave. Great Cleave. Again, and again, and again, until 72 targets had dropped. (My DM's jaw dropped when I didn't roll a single 1). I repeated this for a few rounds. In the end, my DM lost his cool, had all his soldiers (which were mostly conscripts) rally and fight against me to the death, ignoring the fact that I had slaughtered hundreds of their friends in about 20 seconds. He eventually took me down. I had slain 500+ soldiers using the jump and whirlwind tactic. :D |
| bahamut_003-15-04, 01:54 PM | Goreg, your story is great, moments like that just make you love that game even more :) |
| Beamup03-15-04, 02:39 PM | My favorite: Fighting two really nasty things we don't even know what they are. The party is my Rogue (fights with Rapier and Dagger), a pseudodragon ranger, and a pyromaniac Sorcerer. One enemy got nailed by a combination of fire magic and sneak attack during the surprise round. They were seperated by a table off which they had been eating human body parts. After the first one went down, I did a Tumble check to 5' step up onto the table (only way I could 5' step to him). Standing in the disgusting detrius on the table, I make a full attack. All four attacks hit, including a crit. I did (with a level 10 character) 27d6+8+2d4 damage. The DM chose to describe this as a blinding flurry of blows ending with my Flaming Corrosive Rapier+1 buried hilt-deep in the middle of the thing's forehead. "Oh drat. My good boots seem to have become rather soiled." |
| Arakano03-15-04, 03:34 PM | Well, not a battle move, jsut a move: We had to pass a molten lava creek. My PC (weretiger) had already jumped over and changed back into elven form. Than the barbarian (char with highest strength) tried to throw the halfling over to me. He rolled a 1, so our DM decided he threw him to low... While the halfling fell to his certain death, I changed back into tiger form, jumped from the stand, caught the halfling with my mouth (kittenstyle) in midair, and landed safely on the other side. Yea! :D |
| harel_dr03-15-04, 04:27 PM | Originally posted by Tytalus The maximum amount you can use for Power Attack is your BAB, which would be 6 in this case. weird, i asked my DM the maximum i BA i could get off and he told me that every thing. o well... |
| Amethyst_Rage03-16-04, 02:43 AM | One of many classic scenes from a campaign my group and I played in a while ago. We were trying to set an ambush for a group of particularly tough mercenaries. We knew these mecrs were after a particualar wizard who lived in a mansion, who had to survive thier onslaught. The plan was simple (and contrieved by my character) The party sorcerer would take the place of the wizard (using some minor illusion spells to look like him), he would act 'normally' as bait within a room in the mansion, whilst we hid the actual wizard away. The party rogue would hide within the same room as the false wizard, waiting to sneak attack the merc leader when he entered the room. My character a (very fat and obnoxious) Cleric/Warpriest would be waiting outside the (masterworked, stained glass) window of the room using Air Walk (it was on the second floor) and burst in once the rogue had attacked. The rest of the group, consisting of our Paladin, Dwarfen Battlerager, Psion and Bard would be waiting the signal to attack (my character crashing through the window) in an adjacent room. A great plan! The merc leader and his cronies entered the room... The rogue fired, 3 shots, all missed... My cleric, buffed to the nines, crashed through the window and tripped, his flaming scythe of retribution (well, a +1 flaming burst scythe with continual flame cast upon it) skitting across the floor. Huffing and puffing he could do nothing. The rest of the party, having not readied thier actions (the DM deemed that they couldn't given the fact that they must listen out to my prompt), all lost the initiative. The merc leader saw through the illusion (he had met the original wizard before and was allowed to save) and promptly dispatched our sorcerer with a few strokes of his blade. Finally the main group of the party entered the room, where a great battle ensued, of course, we won and lived to fight another day but not without the death of our Sorcerer and an almost constant ridicule of my cleric and his plans. |
| Malben03-16-04, 09:53 PM | I saved my adventuring party from a small army of duergar. With a single casting of a cantrip. We were trying to retrieve something from a duergar outpost for a dragon, and my rog/wiz and the party's rog/bard slipped ahead to go get the artifact while the others caused a diversionary disturbance. After we roguish sorts retrieved the item, we came back to see that our colleagues were getting their posteriors handed to them on a silver platter. So I used a ghost touch cantrip to make the duergar crossbow corps that was pounding the other characters think that they were about to be flanked by a group of elves who were going to cast fireball spells at them. The duergar panicked, because it sounded like a good dozen or more invisible elven wizards out there, and better than half of them fired the crossbows at thin air, then ducked and covered to try to survive the fireballs they thought were coming. While they did that, we ran. |

| RobTzu03-18-04, 01:27 PM | Originally posted by Beamup They were seperated by a table off which they had been eating human body parts. Great way to avoid a dangling participle. In 2e I had a Elven Mage/Thief. We were all level 6 and got attacked by a Succubus. She had some kind of evil Scourge that was tearing us a new one. I disarmed her, with the rules out of the complete warriors guide, -4 to hit + 1 to iniative. We then procceded to cut her up before she could teleport out. |
| The_Caitiff03-18-04, 05:50 PM | My story isnt one of blinding greatness or intelligence, merely one of incredible stupidity that turned out ok in the end. The basic premise of the campaign is barbarian meets girl, girl gets kidnapped by balor, barbarian rounds up friends for field trip to abyss etc. Party layout was, Wiz19 Clr18 Ftr8/Bbn8 and Bbn16, we used the same characters from previous campaigns because we all love nonsensical continuity. So here we are in the abyss, and lo and behold a war is going on. So what do our heroes do? "The Balor that stole my girl must be in there somewhere, lets kill them all until one squeals." :::STUPID!::: So there we are, demons on one side, devils on the other and an empty field in between. Lets see 2000 dretches over there, 2000 lemures over there plus support folk on both sides. How should we go about this??? The wizard and cleric are encouraging thinking our way out, but no the barbarian will have none of that. So the doomed heroes march inivisibly into the center of the field, the barbarian throw off the invisibility and yells "You will all suffer until my Catherine is returned!!!" The balors look at the pit fiends and say "You know, I really want to see this one play out." "Yeah, lets go get good seats." So of course the armies of darkness charge, the cleric and wizard say heck no and fly upwards so they can cast in peace. Meanwhile the dretches and lemures have to crit to hit, thus one in twenty would actually hit so there's 14 damage a round (assuming max damage and swarm fighting). The tanks have great cleave and will hit unless they critically fumble, losing their weapon. Thus they will lose one weapon every two rounds (assume they retain their weapon on half of their critical failures), and spend a full round recovering it. Taking out 40-60 bad guys a round. The Cleric is floating overhead out of reach, casting "holy word" or an acid substituted "fire storm" drastically evening the odds. Lets see, 18th lvl cleric Holy word, theres a lot down, acid firestorm, there goes a lot more. The cleric casts "Heal" as needed and "Heal Mass" only if drastically needed. The Sorceror is flying as well, throwing acid substituted fireballs and such. Yes it hurt, yes we lost one of our tanks, yes we were completely drained, but we took on two armies in the blood war! Dont ask why we're fighting in the blood war, we dont really know, it just happened. And in the end, of course the balor wasnt hiding in the abyss. He was hiding on his private demi plane, far from any fighting. Our DM is a devious S.O.B.:smirk: |

| Taran Alvein03-20-04, 12:07 PM | This isn't really a great battle move or anything, but it WAS funny when it happened, so here it is: I love to be a PC in D&D. I kinda like to DM, but I really like playing more. However, I have horrendous luck, when playing as a PC. Or, depending on how you look at it, I have really incredible luck. I almost always miss every attack, skill check, and saving throw, except when: a) It really, REALLY matters, as in, life-or-death, "you HAVE to make this" kind of situations. b) It really DOESN'T matter at all. And this is the kind of situation I will relate to you now. My group was going up against three giants (I'm not sure which type, but I think they were Hill Giants). Anyhow, a tough fight for a LVL 8 group, but we have them at surprise, and we had a real power-gamer rogue in the group, and we had a plan of attack. So now, the fight goes as normal; everyone else is dishing out the damage, and I keep missing. FINALLY, I score a hit on one of the giants, and deal 4 damage. And it dies. So we all kind of laugh about how the only hit I score in the battle is the one that doesn't matter, the second giant that was meleeing us gets killed, and we move after the last one, which was throwing rocks at us. Party beats up on it, and this time, I actually score a hit in the fight. Then, I hit it again, this time for 9 damage. And it dies. So once again, I prove my "put the last shingle on the roof" super-power is in effect. |
| Zero 0mega03-20-04, 11:49 PM | 1) Party is about 6th level 2) Most of us are newbs 3) Create water IN our campaign(sp?) our ship just set anchor near an island. We an row out to the island. DM: Nothing happens Me: I step back about 20 feet. Everyone else: Stands there......... Dm: the black panel opens and this *shows monster manual pic. of mindflayer* jumps out and make a will save. Dwarf fighter fails *is unconcius(sp?) for ten rounds* My turn in combat (IM a fighter) Me: I jump up the ship and attack *miss* Dm: It knocks your helmet off and sticks a tentacle on your head(i falied grapple) Other people:*attack* I fail grapple again, another tentacle on my head ship starts to rise up put of ground my companion who can fly finally reaches me and i succed my grapple(AGAINST A FRIKNIN MINDFLAYER:angel: ) I jump off, mind flayer jumps back in ship. | DevilKiller03-21-04, 01:34 AM | Hmm, last night my 3rd level gnome wizard managed to help his party of 2nd and 3rd level characters overcome two ogres (EL 5) with competent if not exactly clever use of Grease and Hypnotic Pattern. He also nearly shot our fighter in the butt with his crossbow though, so it was a mixed bag. Back in a 2e Planescape campaign my elven mage/thief found a few little blocks of stone that would grow into 10 foot stone cubes if you threw them on the ground and spoke a command word. While on the Infinite Stairs we met a glabrezu demon. The section of the Stairs he was on was kind of unstable though, so my elf threw down the cube and spoke the command word. The stairway broke, and the demon went plunging for a nearly infinite fall. I was about 5th level at the time, so this was a huge victory for the party. In the same campaign my druid gave his pink ioun stone of +1 Con to out powerful dwarven fighter so he'd have the hit points to fiish off a group of small demons we'd met. Unfortunately the HP from the ioun stone were the only thing keeping the druid conscious at that point. We were playing with death at -10 hp though, so he lived, though barely. |

Barehanded Disarms are difficult to pull off, but if successful you have the added advantage of actually having the weapon in your hands and not lying on the ground. True Strike all but guarantees success. :) |
