| Hustler One02-02-07, 10:37 AM | Doesn't matter if they're from another source. Curious to see some interesting ones. XD The last one I used was when my Cleric was confronting and arresting a crooked Mine Owner in a mining town. "One way or another, you're coming with us quietly." |
| lancean02-02-07, 11:21 AM | My personal favorite was back from 2nd Ed DND. It's the top line in my Sig below. :D But heck, as long as we're quoting other sources too, I've always loved one of the old Transformers lines. "There's a thin line between being a hero and being a memory." It's the last sound byte on this page... Prime Speaks (http://www.transformersmovie.com/prime_speaks/prime_speaks_w.swf) |
| Solarnen02-02-07, 11:23 AM | Right after one of my fellow characters was arrested for blowing off someone's arm with a rod of lightning. "I didn't mean to..." |

| Radijs02-02-07, 11:32 AM | 1 Pillage, then burn. 6 If violence wasn't your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it. 8 Mockery and derision have their place. Usually, it's on the far side of the airlock. 9 Never turn your back on an enemy. 12 A soft answer turneth away wrath. Once wrath is looking the other way, shoot it in the head. 13 Do unto others. 16 Your name is in the mouth of others: be sure it has teeth. 21 Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Take his fish away and tell him he's lucky just to be alive, and he'll figure out how to catch another one for you to take tomorrow. 27 Don't be afraid to be the first to resort to violence. 29 The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy, no more, no less. 30 A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go. 31 Only cheaters prosper. 34 If you're leaving scorch-marks, you need a bigger gun. 35 That which does not kill you has made a tactical error. 36 When the going gets tough, the tough call for close air support. 37 There is no “overkill”. There is only “open fire” and “I need to reload”. 38 Just because it's easy for you doesn't mean it can't be hard on your clients. (http://www.schlockmercenary.com) |
| drizzt42002-02-07, 12:04 PM | There is a huge thread dedicated to this topic here. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=304933) |
| Hustler One02-02-07, 12:22 PM | Well most of it are situations and a lot are more then a line. I am just interested in quick retorts, quips, or taunts that different people use in their games. |
| ravenshrike02-02-07, 01:45 PM | We're from the Royal Imperial Guard and we're here to help. |
| illyrus02-02-07, 01:48 PM | When referring to when someone risks everything for his cause, including all that he loves: "You can't go home and hug and kiss your pride goodnight" |
| Drohem02-02-07, 02:57 PM | I was DMing the Dragonlance series under 1st AD&D. The PCs were shipwrecked on the shore and attacked by Wild Elves. After the fight, one of the players looked at me, and in all seriousness, said "where are the harpies?" We all busted up because there were no harpies, no one ever mentioned harpies, and they just got done fighting elves. We still throw that quote out every once in a while, and this was about fifteen years ago that it happened. The player will never live that one down. |
| Maekrix_Waere02-02-07, 07:58 PM | These following quotes are the intellectual propety of my client, one Mr. -...ah, yes...My cleint prefers to remain under the name of "Sarge." Either way, here you go: 1:Hey, _____ I want you hold these bullets for me...in your gut! 2:I hope you brought your wallet, cause the rent in Hell gets paid in advance! 3:You just got Sarged. |
| the_narrator02-02-07, 08:54 PM | Big bad Sorcerer: "I AM GOING TO TEAR YOUR HEART OUT THROUGH YOUR THROAT!" Our Sorcerer: "I'M GOING TO TEAR YOUR TEETH OUT THROUGH YOUR ***HOLE!" "Man, I really hate David Bowie." "Orcus." "Man, I really hate Orcus." Both of these from one campaign. The last one was because Orcus had been wandering around in the disguise of an anime-style femmenine male with a costume that, shall we say, "enhanced" certain aspects of his person. |
| goose966902-03-07, 07:40 AM | Calis the Wood Elf Scout: "...and my arrow bounces harmlessly off the wall." Oberon the Dwarf Fighter: "HEY, I HAVE A NAME!!" |
| Rivelstraz02-03-07, 11:13 AM | "Less words, more swords!" "Go for the eyes, Boo! Go for the eyes!" "Boo thinks, therefore, I am" I love Minsc :) |
| High Octane02-03-07, 04:46 PM | 1:Hey, _____ I want you hold these bullets for me...in your gut! 2:I hope you brought your wallet, cause the rent in Hell gets paid in advance! 3:You just got Sarged. 4. Deez NEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRTZ!!! |
| Alex_02-03-07, 09:07 PM | "Water please." "What's a prostitute?" From a campaign full of nothing but lawful good characters. "But it's only a baby. Oh its evil? Well then I draw my sword and stab it." From another campaign where the Paladin encountered some wyrmling white dragons. "The wolf implodes." The DM's description of a summoned and buffed up wolf scoring a critical failure on itself with its bite attack, dealing several times its own HP. |
| jennibert02-03-07, 09:43 PM | To a fellow (2nd level) party member who's been wandering around the city by himself: "Don't do that. You're a wizard. People kill you." |
| DarkLiChNeaZur02-03-07, 09:48 PM | were on a boat with a transvesdite troglodyte and our Rakshasa was, well lets say a bit of a ...fruit, the rakshasa walks over to the troglodyte and says "let me polish your spear for you! i use saliva only" i put my head in my hands and my dice in my bag and went to throw up in the bathroom (the fact that it was a TROGLODYTE a TROGLODYTE) |
| Conlan02-05-07, 01:34 PM | My group, being mostly guys, has come up with a "secret" code for saying sexual things. Going against the idea of secrecy, here it is. P*nis -> Puppy V*gina -> Mailbox Mouth -> Piano Butt -> Visor (I don't get the connection either) Ejacul*te -> Swim Example: "I'm going to put my puppy in your piano and then swim all over your face." Anyway... the one-liner setup goes like this. We play a D20 Modern campaign which takes place in Chicago, which has a PO Box system. The group was driving down the road and I guess one of the players motioned like he was hanging out the window of the car and swinging at something. Our group pacifist gunslinger (figure that one out) turns to the other player and says: "Did you just smash that guy's mailbox?" (For the slow of wit: 1) no mailboxes in chicago, 2) guys don't have the above-listed meaning for "mailbox") |
| Conlan02-05-07, 01:48 PM | Another one :D This one is actually from 3rd Edition D&D, in a sense. It's from 2 of us playing Baldur's Gate II: Dark Alliance for the Game Cube in which there are explosive barrels that you can light and lure your enemies into. "I'm being careful" *Accidentally attacks barrel* -BOOM!- :ghosted: |
| SilverFoxKnows02-05-07, 06:34 PM | Horus- "I don't want to be roasted on a spit" Kovax- "Don't worry. They don't cook their meat" Horus- "Shut up, Dwarf!" |
| graddlin02-06-07, 12:48 AM | "Face me like a man, and die on your knees like a coward!" "You needn't speak, your eyes tell me everything..." "Let this fool whom thinks himself a great warrior come forth and be taught the truth!" "Your lies will not serve you in death." "In a moment's time, you and all you have done, will be nothing more than a memory." "It pains me to know that I cannot cause you any more misery than I already have wrought." "It is useless, I have already won." "This land was built upon the bones of "great" men, and soon you shall become part of that foundation." "You are nothing more than a game piece, if I say "move", you do so!" "You live in a dream, fool, but I'll wake you up soon." |
| hiroshimahamster02-06-07, 10:37 AM | "You are going to die slowly and painfully, and you're not going to enjoy it!" - end of setting boss (I admit I said that, but it was very late and I had started to completely ignore my notes. The party just cracked up...) "I'll show you what to do!" *boom* "Ah :censored: !" :gah: :ghosted: "Oh look! Daisies!" A stupid fighter after failing an easy spot check to see a rather large dragon stood in front of him... |

| Garble Willowwits02-06-07, 05:25 PM | "I cast Arcane Mark on his butt!" Yeah, my wizard was getting rather tired of waiting to get his sword back from the dwarves who confiscated it. |
| ZolDarklock02-06-07, 11:55 PM | On the very first game of a new campaign world, I aked the players what they intended to do, the wizard of the party responded "kill them all, and sort them out when we become gods" |
| itwasntme02-07-07, 12:03 AM | ... "worship Palor Or Die!" |

| Oof GruumshNoLike02-07-07, 01:38 AM | One of my players is quite a movie buff and often uses movie quotes for his C/E Goliath Barbarian. Here are some: 1) From Ninja Scroll, used when an enemy flees the battle or provokes an AoO for leaving his threatened space- "You're going the wrong way. The way to Hell is... RIGHT HERE!" 2) From Ninja Scroll, used whenever a female NPC is uncooperative- "Don't think that I would mind raping a dead woman." 3) From Hellraiser, used whenever the mood strikes- "No more tears, please... it's a waste of good suffering." 4) Same source and usage as number three- "Pain has a face... I'll show it too you!" 5) Hellraiser again, used anytime an NPC says "for God's sake!"- "Do I look like someone who cares what God thinks?" |
| mephistophelesatefaust02-07-07, 02:42 AM | 1. My party, upon entering a climactic battle: DM: "'WELCOME! To The Court Of Night,' decl..." Aasimar Mystic Theurge, without missing a beat: "Daylight!," pronounced in an upbeat, cheery, almost sing-song voice. DM::uh-huh: :thinks: :OMG! :banghead: "I... Hate... VAMPIRES!" |

When I wrote that, I meant to write that it was the shadow just before it landed - it's what you get for not proof-reading. Oh, and we had a paladin with aura of courage and a cleric who always cast calm emotions on the fighter because he kept running away from fights all the time... Oh, and read the sig - most of my group are not 'guys'. I have happened to collected the town's population of female Christian gamers it seems... |
| WarColonel02-07-07, 04:17 PM | Llwaran Kirunin, rogue, used this line right before attacking a dragon solo, p*ssing off a king, p*ssing off a balor, jumping off a cliff, and getting married. "Guys, I'm about to do something stupid." |
| snakeman83002-07-07, 04:35 PM | "Don't mess with the little guy" -my gnome character having just shot down a pyroclastic dragon in an uttercold fireball. "Or, you could completely ignore me after I just told you that door was trapped with three symbols all set to trigger when the door was opened." -Rouge after the fighter decided to open said door. |
| Hakar_Kerarmor02-08-07, 04:05 AM | My dwarf fighter, Tungsten Hammersong, after being asked if he knows anything about nature: "It's... green?" |
| spectralphoenix02-08-07, 04:15 AM | 1. My party, upon entering a climactic battle: DM: "'WELCOME! To The Court Of Night,' decl..." Daylight specifically says it doesn't harm vampires. |
| LoNLinaChan02-08-07, 09:43 AM | after a long discussion with not only your dm but you in game party of why your name is pwny and numorous battle of you just half hartedly swinging a clunky sword with no real effect your final boss introduces himself "greeting foolish mortals for i am" which is interupted with the one line "i cast a sudden quicken, sudden maximize, sudden empowered, engergy add mixtured acid sudden silient, and sudden stilled disintegrate; oh and did i mention my first and middle name are one trick." |
| Sajek02-08-07, 12:00 PM | My character (who has a mustache) upon cornering our BBEG: Give us the gems, or my mustache will eat your beard. DM:  (Major :cookie: to whoever gets the reference) |
