| crowclub07-24-06, 12:26 PM | Now that Wild shape is based on Alternate Form and you keep your Hit Points, what is the best race for a Druid? |
| Board_Rider07-24-06, 01:08 PM | I like Skarn (Magic of Incarnum) for a combat Druid and the Elf for a summoner type Druid. Can't go wrong with human or aasimar either. |
| Zherog07-24-06, 01:21 PM | Anthropomorphic bat, from Savage Species. :schemes: |
| Piggyfreak607-24-06, 01:32 PM | Gnomes are always a good choice, they're small, so they're hard to hit, and if you want, they can ride most of the creatures.... so yeah! |
| Vintar07-24-06, 01:37 PM | You should go with the awesome people... from Awesomeland. Cause well... they're awesome like that! And all you should care about is awesomeness - not fluff or character concept or anything like that - psh-shaw. No - really - I think like most classes it varies depending on what style you're going for - and then there are several options. There are usually several races that would be really bad for a class -like a half-orc wizard - but most of the rest are usually ok. |
| Tempest Stormwind07-24-06, 02:03 PM | Jermaline. Venerable Jermaline. Tiny fey, butt-ugly, amazingly bitter, and inextricably tied to nature -- plus LA+0 and an immense Wisdom bonus to boot. You can still ignore your physical abilities using Wild Shape, essentially. All the joy of the Anthro Bat without any of the Savage Species ickeyness. Of course, I kid. There are numerous excellent racial choices out there. That said, why not go directly to the gurus on all things mechanical -- the CO boards -- and read the handbook on druids (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=465005). You'll learn things you probably never thought of. |
| The Ubbergeek07-24-06, 02:40 PM | Cliché, but elves make great druids, I say, especially if you can get a Wood or Wild elf. |
| was_fired07-24-06, 05:29 PM | Dwarves and gnomes. Dwarves since you get darkvision while not in animal form, and gnomes since you get small size while not in animal form. |
| kelvinaw27307-24-06, 05:48 PM | Any race can make a great druid, because you make the great druid, not the race of the character. So do it with whatever comes naturally, it'll work, trust me. |
| Moon-Lancer07-24-06, 05:58 PM | Kilorians are nice. |
| Otto the Bugbear07-24-06, 08:12 PM | Bugbear YEAH, BABY!!! As is the answer any time you need to ask what race to choose. End of thread. Cheers Otto ;) |
| tharivol26607-24-06, 08:34 PM | oh otto you silly goose... fgljsjdfo;igseo'iorigjldkfgb'sldfh.....t hat was code for anything goes. there is really no way to make a bad druid once you get to the right level. |
| Zherog07-24-06, 09:11 PM | I thought Otto was a bugbear, not a goose.... |
| hmmmm07-24-06, 11:20 PM | I thought Otto was a bugbear, not a goose.... Its the tricky shadows.... |
