Ok got a question. how does one run a blind fighter? he dual wields katars, and had a spiffy sonic wave quarterstaff that helps him "see". he sees through sound, kinda like dare devil but not that extreme.

Let me give the rundown. The party is in Ebberon, specificly the Mournland (insignificant to the sinario) but they came across a man who had no eyes or eyesockets, me. he's been blind for a while and has the blindfight feat. but how does one fight someone he cannot see? would he just hafta play it defensive and let the beaties come to him? I need stats for total blindness, fighting stats, uh, fighting techniques ect..

The standard answer (yes. this topic occurs often enough that there is a generally agreed-upon conclusion), is that you run the character as normal, as if he could see, and all the blindness stuff is flavour and has no mechanical impact.

Else:

Blinded: The character cannot see. He takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class, loses his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any), moves at half speed, and takes a –4 penalty on Search checks and on most Strength- and Dexterity-based skill checks. All checks and activities that rely on vision (such as reading and Spot checks) automatically fail. All opponents are considered to have total concealment (50% miss chance) to the blinded character. Characters who remain blinded for a long time grow accustomed to these drawbacks and can overcome some of them.

Why wouldn't he have Blindsight or Blindsense?

he does,

You didn't say anything about it. A creature with blindsight or (blindsense and blindfight) is, for all intents and purposes related to combat, not blind. (I think)

People who are blind have really sharp senses (other than seeing, duh). Have your character take listen checks and perhaps smell (create your own skill specificaly for the character). Have your DM incorporate your circumstances. :P

I'd say grappling would be the ideal choice for blind fighting, once you've got hold of them suddenly you know exactly where they are and the odds are evened somewhat.

A friend of mine wanted to play the "Ultimate Blind Fighter" in a game of my friend's. The DM asked me about it and this is what I came up with:
Blinded Savant (added feat as a racial trait) (Ex):

The Character is blind and can not see, however they have learned to overcome their blindness and have heightened senses because of rigorous, and devoted training. He can use his heightened senses with great precision in regard to creatures and events near him, but has more difficulty dealing with event farther away. The Character gains the extraordinary ability Blindsight with a range of 30 feet. This ability makes invisibility and concealment (even magical darkness) irrelevant to the creature (though it still can’t see ethereal creatures and must have line of effect to a creature or object to discern that creature or object). The Blindsight ability grants the following benefits and restrictions.
>Blindsight never allows a creature to distinguish color or visual contrast. A creature cannot read with blindsight.
>Blindsight does not subject a creature to gaze attacks (even though darkvision does).
>Blinding attacks do not penalize creatures using blindsight.
>Deafening attacks thwart blindsight if it relies on hearing.
>Blindsight works underwater but not in a vacuum.
>Blindsight negates displacement and blur effects.
Outside of their Blindsight range (distances greater than 30 feet), the Character has the extraordinary ability Blindsense to a range of 60 feet. The creature with usually does not need to make Spot or Listen checks to notice and locate creatures within range of its blindsense ability, provided that it has line of effect to that creature. Any opponent the creature in range of Blindsight but within Blindsense (Between 30 and 60 feet away) has total concealment (50% miss chance) against the Character, and the Character still has the normal miss chance when attacking foes that have concealment. The Character is denied his Dexterity bonus to Armor Class against enemies out side of his blindsense. He receives the Blindfight feat as a bonus feat and gains a +4 to listen checks, incuding things outside of his blindsense ability. If something within blind sight would be difficult to detect without the other senses (vibration, smell, sound) such as a still glass bottle, the character receives a -4 on search checks to detect such items. Also, if he is ever denied his other senses (Vibration, smell, sound) or if something would be undetectable by these means (such as a ghost) he receives a -4 on relevant Strength and Dexterity based skills and checks. The character may take Language: (Brail) as a bonus Language. This feature adds +1 to the character’s LA.
Resources: Blindsight and Blindsense, Blinded Condition

We decided that it would act as a template that could be added to any intelegent creature with normal vision. We set the LA at +1, but after a little play testing it's probably in the +2 or +3 range. It ended up being pretty cool. I hope this is what your looking for, i.e. a blind character with amazingly heightened senses.
