| Gompen01-07-04, 04:51 PM | i'm playing a human rouge/ninja in a asian campainsetting. unfortunatelly my character, Gin'iro, was blinded, and i do not know exactly what to do about it... i don't wanna quit playing him, i've kind'a wanted to play a mystic, blind warrior, but... HOW! how can i make him a character who, even though he can't see, still can kill when necessary, and do all the other adventure stuff... and since i now am blinded, i suddenly lost 4 skillpoints in many of my favoured skills, like tumble, balance and search. understandable. but, don't blind often develop a much better sense of hearing? wouldn't it be logical to gain some skillpoints in listen? would come quite handy, if i'm to find my opponents... any suggestions about feats, skills, or anything else (is there items that can give one a sort of "daredevil-sight"?), please put it down! - Gompen |

| Winternova01-07-04, 07:56 PM | There's gotta be some spells/psionic abilities that can grant you a kind of blindsense, or something. Do a little favor, make it permanent, and there you go. It should work. |
| SpellMaster01-07-04, 10:19 PM | Check the Sword and Fist, it has a feat called Blindsense in it that gives a small amount of blindsense (I think 5 ft.) You need high wisdom though, dont know if that is possible. |

I think it a level 3 cleric spell. the thing is, i want to be blind, now that i am^^ my question was not what to do to get my sight back, but how my character still can work as a adventurer, instead of turning into a beggar, or something similar... |
| CrazyMonk01-08-04, 09:31 AM | Blindfighting feat may help, as can Blindsense. |
| Gompen01-08-04, 09:49 AM | just thought of something *original* here it comes: the feat dodge... what is it? what do you do when you use dodge? you observe your oponent, and when he strikes at you, you dodge it, since you can interpret his movements, am i right? that's my view of it... now that my character is blind, i can't observe my oponent, obviously... so, since i'm not all to happy with how dodge works, would it be ... wierd/unnatural/overpowered if i adjusted my fighting style into something more usefull while blind? like blind-fighting ^^ what i'm trying to say is, would it be all that wierd and against the rules for me to switch the two feats? 'cuz, for me to use dodge now, would be absolutely whacko! how can i choose my oponent, when i can't see?! and if i was to use it, it does not make sense that i can dodge an oponent i can't see, and NOT, at the same time, use my dex-bonus to AC! after all, i'm only adjusting my fighting style a little bit, not gaining a very different feat... |
| ZappoHisbane01-08-04, 10:18 AM | My DM lets us switch out a feat that hasn't been used in awhile (at least 2-3 levels, maybe more) so that might work. Of course it's up to your DM, and I'd say that you'd lose any feats that have Dodge as a prerequiste too. Go through 1-3 levels while your character learns to deal with his blindness, and it makes perfect sense IMHO. |
