Brand new player looking for group! [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-10-06, 03:52 PM Hey everyone, I'm brand new to this game. I bought the game about a week ago, and I've been reading the Player Manual and such...

Anyway, I need help finding a group to join. Preferably a group that has low level characters, or a group that is willing to put up with a total noob.

Does anyone know where I can find a group to join? I was told to post here.

07-10-06, 03:57 PM It would help if you listed the city you live in, your age, gender, availability, etc. I'm not sure if this is the right forum. Can anybody let us know if there is a classified's section, or something like that?

Also try:

meetup.com, yahoo groups, and craigslist.com

And check out your local gaming stores. Chances are there's a group that games at the store you can join, and they usually have postings up about games open in your town; failing all those, you could also post a notice at the game store saying you're looking for a game.

I recommend getting acquainted with the rules on combat (charging, 5 ft step, attacks of opportunity, cover and concealment, etc) and some of the feats, like power attack, two-weapon fighting, cleave, (and if you want to play a rogue, learn about when you can use sneak attack) so that when you start playing it will be easier to get started.
