I think this is the best place to place this post. I have seen so many posts in the DM section talking about players dying because they are not careful enough well lately the party I'm in has been the opposite. Is just me or for a game to be exciting should there be a situation where someone could die. My party tends to give up and run away whenever the fight goes slightly bad. I think this destroys the game somewhat and then when we come back stronger and better equiped it's almost as if they forgot about us. This kind of role playing and adventure bores me because I feel my character is never physically challenged. As a fighting character I guess I expect to die evey now and again especially at higher levels. That makes the world more realistic to me.

Hey,

Yes, there is certainly some truth to your statement. Although, dying isn't always necessarily a thing to look forward to.

Recently, my 5th level Dwarven Cleric got annihilated by a hell knight champion.

This is our gaming groups first campaign, and although I was one of the only ones with their original character left (nearly everbody else had changed characters), I was the first one to die.

This sucks, believe me, I had to go and lie down. I am pretty into the game, and it was quite a shock.

The fault was, as the cleric I was their main healer, but also the ONLY healer! I was unconcious, on -1 hit points, and there was nothing they could do. My new character is a level 6 (they all levelled up after the battle) Paladin.
