Dissont 04-30-07, 03:28 PM	Ok, I need the help. I've finaly gotten into a game where RPing is valued over combat. So far its a 4th lvl gestalt (sp) game. But the problem I'm haveing is story wise. My character is the rogue-ish type. He is an escaped convict but he only escaped because he didnt do it....realy, hes inocent. (alg: CG ) While in prison though he got a reputation for makeing anything into a dagger. And he had the uncanny ability of hit almost what ever he wanted when he threw them. So he was given the nickname of "The Shiv." So Kuthar the Shiv escaped from prison and is now adventureing the land in search of the true killer and of course riches beyond his wieldest dreams. The problem i'm haveing is hes a very up beat story teller and the party is currently traveling with a band of bards and they want to hear a song that he wrote...problem being is I myself in RL am a story teller NOT a musican. So I need help creating a little jingle about my character. Something along the lines of Jockser the Mighty song from Xena or the Brave Sir Robin song from monty python.

Cromag 05-01-07, 01:02 PM	Bards are not just about songs, look at the perorm skill section * Act (comedy, drama, mime) * Comedy (buffoonery, limericks, joke-telling) * Dance (ballet, waltz, jig) * Keyboard instruments (harpsichord, piano, pipe organ) * Oratory (epic, ode, storytelling) * Percussion instruments (bells, chimes, drums, gong) * String instruments (fiddle, harp, lute, mandolin) * Wind instruments (flute, pan pipes, recorder, shawm, trumpet) * Sing (ballad, chant, melody) All of these are valid and should be acceptable, after all not everyone sings like a sparrow, just like not everyones funny, or can play the flute. You said you prefer storytelling, I suggest going with that
Dissont 05-01-07, 03:39 PM	That was a great veriation, and I could use it if it were a duet. But im solo on this song. And Cromag the reason I have to sing a song is because my character was challanged to sing a song. He tells stories by trade because thats what im better at in RL but the compatition is a singing one. So simply 'just sticking to one of the other options' wont work here unfortunatly.

I did that once. Got away with it until and archon heard the story. :P
