Here is my dilemna I want to come up with a creative an Imaginative character, something i can really believe in. I want your help. Yes you the faithful readers of this Message board. it's a homebrew world so ther is a little leniancy. 1 I need a name 2 I need a history 3 The first five classes ( i'll go from there) Then i will pick the one i like the best and play it, no matter what. Cool - i will reply to my favorite get there e-mail and put them on my e-mail list so they can live vicariously through the character. |
| raistlin_devreault12-01-03, 05:14 PM | Awright, here's a character concept i had but never actually had the time to play it, yet! A Sorcerer Pyromane Gnome... Choose all kind of fire spell and go for the elemental savant PrC so you can be immune to fire... have continual flame cast on your head.... you should have a lot of fun.. Make sure to get the Energy immunity Cold as a 7th lvl spell, it last 24h and since ES fire only weakness is cold(X2 damage), you will be immune to cold & fire.. lots of possibility! also get the polymorph spell for more fun and trickery.... :smirk: o and name: Dun "Dimble, Pyro, corky" Nackel! as for an history, i will told everyone that i was banish from my homeland for burning the mayor house to the ground.....twice and since then my Pc is an adventurer.... |
| Josh Wilhoyte12-01-03, 06:00 PM | I've been wanting to play the Full Plate wearing Gnomish fighter who charges down dungeon hallways on his Wardog using his mounted combat feats to full effect. |
| Orzo Burrowarden12-01-03, 06:31 PM | Great ideas Keep them coming. |
| Sussin12-02-03, 07:48 PM | Right i've had this character in my head for a while but never got a chance to use him. Choose what ever name you want. I called mine Fringe How do you feel about a duel weilding kuri fighter gnome? Since kukris are tiny wepons you only get a -2 attack penilty but since they are the same wepon you only use half the feats geting WF and WS. The bad thing is that they only do 1d4 damage. But with the 18-20/X2 critical you get duel keen kukris (they are slashing wepons) and then get improved critial. By the end you're wepons do 1d4+2+(strenth) 12-20/X2 with extra attacks you're bound to critcal at least once every turn. As for a story line here's what i had. Fringe was captain of the militia for a small the small rural hamlet of (place name here). Gnomes had been dispearing in the night and he was selected to investigate this. Long story short he tracks down the culprit after all his loved one are killed and it ends up being his brother (who is a werewolf) and kills him. After this he cannot bear to live in (place name here) any more and goes off to make a name for himself as an adventurer *** if you're dex is good enough you can give yourself 1 level or ranger and use lycanthrope and a favored enimie*** so what do you think? |
| paintedmask212-02-03, 08:19 PM | Gnomish quisinart(sp?). Basically, a gnome barbarian with terminal ADHD and a death wish, weilding a bastard sword and charging into battle like a hybrid humming-bird/weasel on 20 liters of Jolt Cola. |
| Orzo Burrowarden12-02-03, 09:16 PM | Awesome ideas |
| Faeryl Zauvirr12-02-03, 11:43 PM | 1. Smokey McPot 2. His father was an alchemist/herbalist until the Gnomish authorities stumbled upon his hydroponic lab: "So you arn't studying the lifespan of a water lily?" Since his fathers banishment Smokey has tried to shake off the image of crime, but has so far failed. One day he gave up and became the most feared Gnome in history. 3. Rogue/Fighter/Barbarian/Ranger/Bard In seriousness, there is a great Dragon mag (forget which number) that is entirely devouted to the Gnome. It is absolutely great. Try and get a hold of it if ever you play a gnome. |
| gerbilattack12-03-03, 11:26 AM | Hw about a Gnome-insectile (see Savage Speicies) you're a big halfbug with nice abilities 4 "arms" and with a few feats can wield 2 2handers! (4 arms) |
| undeadsuperman12-03-03, 11:35 AM | Sussin The bad thing is that they only do 1d4 damage. But with the 18-20/X2 critical you get duel keen kukris (they are slashing wepons) and then get improved critial. By the end you're wepons do 1d4+2+(strenth) 12-20/X2 ----- The only thing wrong with this is in 3.5 keen and imp crit dont stack i believe, they did in 3.0 and it got changed in the conversion. I know it sucks cause i did that kind of thing to with rapiers quite often in 3.0. Anyways ignore anyamount of these rambling as you see fit. |
| Sussin12-03-03, 12:25 PM | awwww your kidding :( I never even got a chance to try it out! I supose it was kinda cheap... oh well, its still a decent character i think |

| TheJester from Winchester12-03-03, 09:09 PM | Call him Daern Battlewing. Gnomish Bard/Ftr 3/Bard 2/ftr Ask your dm if you can buy gloves of Weapon Finesse {Rapier} if so good they cost 3,500 gp. Feats: Dodge Moblity Spring Attack Combat Expertise Whirlwind Attack When Daern was a small lad of 20 he was picked on by all his classmates, Daern would get into fights everyday and would have to brawl his way out. One day a wondering Human was passing by and saw Daern in desperate need of training in combat and offerd to teach him if Daern would take the time to do so. The man showed Daern how to defend and attack his many attackers and after 3 months of training he taught Daern the power of Voice as well, how to charm your enemies into submission. Finaly after 2 yrs of traing Daern was finaly ready to attempt to fend off his assailents and was given a Gnome sized rapier {1d4 instead of 1d6}. All the other Gnomes who had picked on Daern to this day never saw Daern show so much grace and eloquence. In a blinding flash and speed Daern lashed forward and back and within moments his enemies were subdued. Amazed at his prowess the asked Daern where did you lean to fight this well, Daern replied When ones true self opens to the world then great power is unleashed. Baffled and amazed they stood still. Daern turned and walked off, one look back and a flash of his sword and Daern was gone. Now amassed enough wealth to adventure and help out his family Daern sets forth on his flight for glory. {Go with 14/Brd 6/Ftr} or {12/Brd 8/Ftr} |

| DaemeonBlack12-04-03, 03:34 PM | Hagen, Male Gnome Nomad (Psion specializing in Psychoportaion) As a young gnome he always hyper active, climbing this and jumping over that. He had extraordinary physical dexterity and a natural talent using ropes in lasso tricks or tying elaborate knots. His habits of hyperactivity and never stitting still placed him at odds with his father, the local Apothacery. Growing up his father relised he had potential but in other persuits then the family business, placing a gulf between them as he felt they could not talk as they have nothing in common. Hagen was always "different" then the other gnomes, showing no aptitude in the magical arts but having a very strong will power with an incredible sense of three-dimensional physics (his favorite subject in math classes in school). He always had a knack with thowing things and hitting hit target almost every time. He seemd to just know exactly how to have the object reach its mark. When a circus troupe from far off lands passed through his village because of a shift in political powers elsewere, he was immediattly attractted to the life of constant travel. Hagen left to join them, leaving a heartfelt note to his father that he would return some day to tell him of his adventures. A member of the circus, Lanuth, an elven seer (Psion specializing in Clairsentience) immediatly recognized the potential in the young Gnome. Though he showed talents in another field then the Lanuth was intimitly familiar, he tutored the young Hagen in the ways of the Psion. After but 1 year of tutoring and traveling he desided to leave to make his own way on the world and discover his new powers. Bidding his mentor Lanuth a hearty farewell he left to discover the world and him self....... |
| Tonus12-04-03, 04:37 PM | Be outlandish: The Gnome Ranger -- wears fringed white leather armor & a black eyemask, carries a pearl-handled light crossbow, rides a yellow-lab riding dog named Electrum...."Hiyo, Electrum, away!" Gnome Chaney Jr. -- ranks in disguise and balance are needed. Stiltwalker, pretends to be a human wizard...(those cantrips and Use Magic Device can go a long way used creatively.) Phineas Gnome -- ranks in Knowledge Engineering, possibly Profession Tailor for the sewing skill....obsessed with the idea of creating a hot-air balloon... |
