Can somebody help me out????? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-18-04, 08:28 PM Hey i just got the new dungeons and dragons board game and i am having trouble finding people to play with.Is there a way to play by yourslef?

I also wanted to know what the best pc game is that connects with dungeons and dragons so i can go and get it. Please Reply

10-20-04, 08:43 AM never winter nights comes close but is still limiting in my opinion.
Also if you can get an old 1st edition dungeon master guide cheap, it has a few charts it so you randomly roll up a dungeon. Roll on 1 chart to see direction and length of passage, roll for % chance of encounter. Then roll on another chart for the monsters. I would n't change any of charts right off.

Neverwinter has 2 or 3 expansion packs and there is the Temple of Elemental evil game to.

10-20-04, 11:34 AM Never heard of a "board" D&D game so I don't know the amount of players needed. As far as finding gamers check the Classifieds on this website.

As far as PC? There is a online D&D game coming out later on this, or next, year. Demonstone is coming out in NOV. for major gaming consoles.

10-20-04, 04:33 PM OK. Now for the pc games newver winter nights or the temple of evil. I saw both of them at gamestop. Which one is better. And please let me no more about the demonstone game coming out.

10-20-04, 06:18 PM Neverwinter Nights....by far. I have played both and ToEE is horrid. There are too many glitches, bugs and other problems with that game. You have to download a patch when you first install it!!! It is, however, a beutiful game it's just that it needed about 6 months more of programming and playtesting.

Demonstone can be found doing a Google search....trailers for the game are everywhere.

10-20-04, 07:51 PM Dungeons and Dragons isn't a board game, unless you have some game I've never heard of. You don't have a board in D&D. You just need pencils, paper, and dice. Some people use miniatures and mats to put them on, but they are totally optional. You can't really play D&D by yourself. You need a minimum of two people, but most prefer to have 3 or more. Five is the archtypical number (four players and 1 dungeon master).

As far as good PC games based off D&D, the Baldur's Gate series was good, and I have heard that Planescape: Torment was very good, but I loaned my copy to a friend and haven't actually gotten to play it yet. Neverwinter Nights is a good game also, especially if you get into downloading and playing all the player-written mods online and/or playing multiplayer online sessions.

DO you think you can give me some details about it. Ive also seen a bunch of Games for the Never Winter Nights serires. Which is the newest/best one?

10-21-04, 01:26 AM Thus far the Neverwinter Nights series consists of one full game (Neverwinter Nights) and two expansion (Shadows of Undrentide and the newer one, Hordes of the Underdark). To play the expansions, you must own Neverwinter Nights.

Now, I can't vouch for the quality of the expansions. However, I wasn't too impressed when I played NWN itself, so I'd recommend possibly saving your money and taking a look at Demon Stone, D&D Online, and the D&D RPG/RTS (can't remember the name, sorry) that are coming out at some point in the relatively near future.
