Not sure where exactly you are getting a bite attack from with Dragon Shaman. And how are you getting the spell-casting prereq of Dragon Disciple??? Unless you dip into a level of Sorc, it's not going to happen...or use a race that has a few SLA's.

And with the two breath weapons, 1 gets more powerful the more levels of DS you have, the other doesn't really get more powerful at all...set number of dice worth of damage, etc.

If you want a second breath weapon, just try and get the Half-Dragon template...its much stronger when combined with 17 levels of DS rather than X levels of DS and 10 levels of DD.

Perhaps, but is the LA worth taking the Half-Dragon template? Most posts I've seen say no.

I have a player who tried to do this exact thing last game. As soon as he picked up the Dragon Disciple PrC, he got discouraged with his PC. I went through the pros and cons with him. Really, you're best off sticking with the Dragon Shaman, as its abilities continue to scale with level. You'll probably be a lot happier in the long run.

A Dragon Shaman who picks up the level substitute from Dragon Magic that grants him the ability to pick up a Least Invocation would qualify. Invocations qualify you for PrC's that require the "ability to cast arcane spells," but not "ability to cast X level arcane spells."

RAW, it's fine. RAI, it's probably fine, too. Still, I agree with the other posters- the PrC is nice, but it doesn't have much to offer a Dragon Shaman. You won't benefit from the bonus spells, and 10 levels of it are probably not worth the +3 template you could otherwise endure. Still, picking up some melee strengths would be nice for the aspiring dragon shaman, and flavor-wise, it fits excellently.
