| Ivyliea09-13-04, 06:03 PM | I know this is a stupid question, but I have been out of the loop for awhile. I havent played D&D since the late 80's early 90's. I am just getting back into it and was wondering if there are games played online that I could join? Thanks for helping an out-of-date- player.... Ivyliea  (Neutral Druid) |
| Cyricist09-13-04, 07:48 PM | Try posting on the RPG Gamer Classifieds boards here at wizards.. you're sure to find people there.. Click here (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=347) Anyway.. I used to run an online IRC chatroom D&D game. Still have a specially scripted chatbot that I sill use for rolling up characters and such. Who knows in the near future.. might start another online campaign. If so, I'll be sure to post it here and let you know.. :) |
| Kilsek of Sheverash09-13-04, 08:06 PM | D&D Real Adventures: D&D Online Game Forum (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=222737) Here you go :) I just joined my first game there myself. It's online D&D gaming that caters a bit more to those who like writing and roleplaying, but it's perfectly fine for regular good ol' D&D - at a slower post-by-post pace. Always going, 24/7, but the pace is much different. |
| Mister Mayhem09-14-04, 02:50 AM | Also: http://www.garicscity.com/ Another play-by-post site, with a built in dice-roller. |
| Veton09-14-04, 08:32 PM | Try here (www.rpol.net). It's a very good site, as each game has it's own board, dice roller, and the GM can split character's up into groups (so that other player's can't see what's going on), and more. You can just browse around at first to see how things look. |
| Lia Nightdemon09-15-04, 09:22 AM | I personally find that online D&D works best on a chat thing. instant messangers work well I've played a few online games most which resulted in the GMing *****ing at a player. and disappearing in a hissy fit. I've seen some pretty horrid GM's. there are some programs that are for online gaming like openRPG look it up and download it free it's free to use |
| BluSpecs09-15-04, 11:24 AM | Here is a site that I play on http://kmansadventures.proboards2.com/index.cgi It's pretty laid back but each running game gets updated at least once a day during the week |
| Endarire09-17-04, 04:39 PM | www.openrpg.com -EE |
| MythDragon09-18-04, 01:55 PM | also try RPOL.net It is a good DnD site, it has many games that you can join as well as create your own. Although it is not geared directly to DnD there are a lot of DnD games on that board. It also has built Dice roller, it allows you to upload maps to the site. It has been pretty good so far , i have been playing there for about 6 months. |
| Toptomcat09-18-04, 07:10 PM | I'll second BluSpecs' reccomendation. Excellent place. |
| crazysamaritan09-19-04, 01:01 AM | In terms of chat-based Dnd, there also exists a chat forum for games here on wizards. If you need a die-roller, ask for warden to show up. At the VERY top of the page, click on Community, then Chat rooms. There are rooms for DnD games, and for free-form DnD + other games. (free-form means you don't use a die, you simply stat your actions, much harder than it sounds, imo) |
| Ghostie Ghost09-19-04, 01:06 AM | WotC chat games are fun and you can win UnCon prizes |
| Adlar Hodge09-19-04, 12:58 PM | I currently play Neverwinter Nights online. It's a lot of fun, but you need NWN and it's 2 expansions (plus udated to the recent version...1.62...updating is free via BioWare) in order to play. If you don't have it, check out www.bioware.com for more info on it. Out of all the DnD related games that have come out since 3rd ed, it's by far the best. |
| Korone09-19-04, 08:05 PM | The site as been recommended twice.. but.. ehm.. anyway.. Follow the sign :D | | | \/ |
